it's more about the fact that VAR can't over turn a second yellow, but apparently VAR has told the referee to give a second yellow after the on field ref has already made his decision that MGW gets all of the ball, that the MAJOR issue. If VAR can't over turn a second yellow then it can't intervene in giving one either. Even if it is the 4th official that has said it's a yellow, the 4th has no right stepping in when it's the ref and linesmen that are the on field refs. Personally as a forest fan, i think it was reckless, but the ref HAS to stick to his decision and not be swayed by VAR or the 4th when they shouldn't be anywhere near the part of the play.
@@TheJWRB Interesting. I didn't know that. But, the tackle was reckless and dangerous. For me it was way worse than other tackles that have resulted in a red. So, he shouldn't have been carded and (consequently) sent off according to the letter of the law but maybe justice was done ??

Last season when we played at brighton neco williams almost had his ankle broken and there was no yellow or red card for a two foot of the ground challenge after a VAR review. Just feels like refs are too scared to make their own decisions. I agree it SHOULD have been a yellow, but the ref ALREADY said MGW which got the ball which indicates it was fair and that why MGW was so surprised and flipped at the 4th official. at this point we should be able to VAR second yellows if refs minds are allowed to be changed.

My mind goes back to 2 seasons ago when Curtis Jones was given a straight red for an innocuous foul against a Spurs player, Kane, in the same game should have got a straight red but got away with it. Likewise Mc Allister last season against Brighton. Anyway the best of luck for the season, you did a number on us last week. Played well too. We got what we deserved, zero.
