Hello Miles. Being a new subscriber, I'm looking through your posts and I'm kind of impressed by your dedication to living onboard your small ship in spite of the lack of heating in winter and also with regard to the state of your boat. You have lots of work to do, and I'm sure you'll have it done, given time. I'll just comment on your statement that other countries have better facilities regarding availability of electricity, water, showers and a washing machine (many will not have a washing machine). You were at one point thinking of going to Norway (my place..) and you may find all these facilities in marinas along our coast, but mainly close to cities and larger communities. I'm sorry to tell you that you'll most likely be charged more than you appreciate for using it Norway, being one of the most expensive countries in the world to visit, you will probably also find the overnight prices pretty steep. There are, however, coastal towns who have seen free mooring as a way of increasing the number of boating visitors, with the goal of increasing local trade, but they are very few. Just to let you know that boating in Norway can actually be very expensive in places, no matter if you visit private marinas or municipal keys. Keep up the good work, it's interesting to follow your vlog, I have learned a lot by watching!
I've only just started watching your vids so you may have addressed the points I'm bringing up. Whatever heater (except electric) it will probably give off Carbon Monoxide, get yourself a detector if you use a burning fuel. I have a little charcoal heater made from 4" sq section hollow tube on my boat (and a decent chimney) I notice you have chord at the ends of your stays, they have a habit of going bang without warning and then the mast comes down. Before you put to sea, look at other boats in harbours that regularly go out and see what equipment and size of things they have aboard. No hard shoulders out there. Keep up the good work - Live the dream ps £250 a year is cheap compared with keeping the boat in a yard or somewhere, and if you go in a harbour on the South Coast, you'll need to take out a bloody morgage
As far as the heating goes, a propane or even metho heater would be a far simpler and more effective heater than a diesel heater, I would have thought. Also, perhaps is it possible to add insulation to the cabin behind the wooden paneling. All of this may assist in keeping you warm in winter.

Video commentary/story telling is superlative. It really draws viewers - including an arm chair sailor like me - into your adventure. Bravo.

Uffen Same as here in Sweden, very expensive..... and not such good facilities
A tilley / paraffin lamp provides enough heat to keep you warm in a smaller space.

Really isn't a lot of money.... and trust me it is NOT better in all other countries. Costs a lot of money in Sweden for nothing...
