- This is the first Food Vlog from our Udaipur Tour Series @Traditional Khana Restaurant which is one of the best Authentic Rajasthani Thali restaurant in Udaipur. This place have a rustic theme decor with ample space and very humble and hospitable staff. We went here for our Dinner. This restaurant is very popular for its Traditional Thali which is also there specialty. We tried the Thali and it was simply amazing and delicious.

Traditional Khana Restaurant:
Starting from the chutneys, daals to kadhi, the taste was so simple yet very flavorful and authentic. Everything on the thali was delicious, yet the main attraction of the Thali was the huge Foot Ball Shape "Bati" which they break into pieces and serve. One bati can be eaten by atleast 15-17 people. It is baked in Kaandaa(old Indian traditional style) for hours and dipped in Desi Ghee before serving and yet they serve you more desi ghee on top of it. As they say "Your bati should not be dry while you eat it". They have a special type of "Poori" called "Dhakolma Poori" which is a large poori made with spices and just 1/4th part of the poori, which is actually a size of chapati, served to one person. Also, while serving the food they do tell you how to eat and mix the food together to get the best taste. It is a "Guided Food Meditation" to put it in right words. The "Gatte Ki Sabzi" and "Chakki Ki Sabzi" is one of its kind. The Gatte will actually melt in your mouth. Apart from this Unlimited Thali we tried their "Chulhe Ki Rabri" and "Badam Halwa" and both were equally yummy. The best thing about Traditional Khana is that they still use all the old traditional Rajasthani ways of cooking which takes hours for preparing a dish but the taste is just incomparable. Also, they do not use any kind of synthetic coloring or flavor in their dishes and use their inhouse masalas. They have a small counter outside the restaurant where they sell Desi Cow Ghee, Inhouse Chyawanprash, variety of Mukhwas, Ladoos and Chikkis. If you are in Udaipur, this place is a must visit and is the best Rajasthani food treat for your taste buds and tummy.

Ahaan, do you know any place in Udaipur with good food and reasonable price? Would like to explore
For hygienic reasons, the servers should be wearing gloves, rather than hand handling food. Management should ensure this, especially in this well publicized restaurant. If you want to attract tourists and foreigners, this is a strict minimum.
In many reviews on other sites, people have commented that the price is very high for the quality and quantity of food here. I have not been to this restaurant, so I cannot personally comment about the food and the restaurant.
Since we had personally been there and tasted their food, we can safely say that this is one of the best place to have a memorable Rajasthani Thali. The thali was unlimited, so no issues with quantity. Yes, surely thali somewhere else can be cheaper but the quality and taste, i m sure no other place can match. Do visit to this place and let us know how you feel🙂.

No sharing of thali is allowed here, but they do have A-la-carte, so if you feel that you can't eat an entire thali, you can order only the dishes of your choice from the Menu. Also, in thali they serve small quantities at first and you can ask for more later as it is unlimited thali.
