The SeaSwirl is a under rated boat. These boats are highly sought after in Australia due to extremely robust transom, and sea worthy characteristics. The 1999 19' boat saved our lives when a storm on Kootenay Lake, British Columbia developed a massive wave formation of close spaced, perfect waves in a Sine patern in every direction. Literally I saw a wall of water heading towards us on a perfectly flat lake. Later learned it was a rare " Non Interface Patern" wave. At 9 feet from valley to crest. Other boaters in beaters and a few nicer bigger ones had to beach as occupants had to hump off boat to shore while not getting smacked by their boat, or pulled back in by waves..... craziest thing I've ever seen on the water of coastal and lakes, we thought we might all die that day.
Great story figures it have more clicks.
I don't think I've ever watched a 28 minute you tube video from start to finish. Great job. Very entertaining and what not.
The drone footage on the water with the sunset is epic. Keep up the good work.
Agreed. That footage is what separates the good from the best.
The front Bimini top getting thrashed was epic! 😜 The back one needs to be rapped and propped up so it doesn’t rub on the engine cowling. But yep, the drone footage was awesome!
That Publix bag holding spare parts is the most Florida thing I've ever seen.
Michigan here. Publix Lemon/Lime is the best pop/soda I have ever drank.
I was really impressed with the gel coat polish pads. Thanks for sharing that. 👍Big difference and easy too.
It worked really well!
@@ThatBoatGuy Where can we get those pads? I live in Colorado..
@@scotta8494 i have a link in my description
Scott A 6
Me too, I those pads look like just the thing I need, I also need the polisher you use, can you recommend something?
This video inspired me to get a boat and restore it...so I started scouring boats for sale in my area...this week I found a 1984 Sea Ray in very nice condition but in need of some cleaning and a makeover for the princely sum of $500...I can't wait for some warmer weather to get to work on it...I will paint the interior cuddy cabin, power wash it, add LED lights and buff the gelcoat with the padXress system...I'm sure it will turn out fantastic...thanks guys for the inspiration!
Al Gonzales how’s the restore going?
Did you start it?
That cabin looks great, very 90s
@1234 red solo cups! LOL
Wow, it's amazing how location changes the prices so much. Where I'm from that would be a $5000 boat all day long, probably needing more work and with dry-rotted trailer tires too.
Well done and whatnot.
Where I live you won't get a boat with that dry-rotted-tire trailer for $5000. Well, okay, I overexxagerated, but seriously, you'd be out near to 2k for the trailer alone here. But laws here are, there's road tax and yearly tec inspection on trailers. It adds up.
Barry Linkiewich where I am (Australia) that boat would sell for $17,000 upwards as is, If it had a four stroke Yam on it people would pay about $50k.
Auswide Marine 6
@@NGC1433 I hate trailer taxes too lmao it costs more than renewing my freaking boat!
looks like a smurf was murdered in the cabin lol
thats how mafia works
Liked it better without the splash stuff but the whole project was great 👍
more like Gumby!
@@MrLarryDallas45 Gumby is green....Smurf is blue. Looks way more blue than green though
Miami Vice
AWESOME !!!
I was hesitant to splatter blue paint in the cabin....it is BRILLIANT..BRAVO !!
LED lighting looks GREAT too !
I don't know what I like better. The boat or the awesome camera footage. Great job on both.
Watching your channel is so inspirational to me. Really gives me the confidence that I can tackle a small boat project.
What a good deal for the boat. You really cleaned it up nicely. I might go buy that glossy stuff now
You’re such a natural you do a great job on your channel just wish you were posting more video this is one of my favorite channels
The tandem axle aluminum trailer alone, as is, was worth more than $1100.00
Indeed. In my area that combo could easily be around 5-7k without any work done to it.
Based on how many boats you’ve worked on these do not seem to be in short supply, Where are you getting these, or are you advertising for them?
That might be an abt brand. Great stuff. Extruded aluminum ibeam frame.
Weird Beard Garage around my area that combo would be 15k
Fucking killer deal
I live in the Southern Nevada Desert, and I would PAY for this restoration ! Excelent Job Guys !
Dennis Buckley ok boomer
Nevada Desert Bad on boats but great on old Cars...
Way to go guys on the deal of the century. Good to see that there are great deals out there for all of us to find, and that there are boats out there that we can revive. Just one note that I feel the boat may need based on your water trial. A good set of adjustable trim tabs. All you need to do is add a good set to even out the ride. Noticed a need for some support on the starboard side ride to even out the overall performance of the ride. Keep up the good work. Power to That Boat Guy!
One question, how long was this project? That looks amazing!!! Fantastic job!!
Man I love these projects. Keep up the great content and let me know when you are ready to add a full-time employee. 20 years in corporate America is ENOUGH! :)
You got an incredible deal, it is also best to use some naval jelly and a brass brush or brass pads on stainless such as the sink, also use a powdered bleach such as comet as it contains a substance known as DE (diatomaceous earth) that is volcanic ash and it polishes stainless instead of scratching it.
Man you definitely could turn that for a profit! Makes me want to go look for a cheap project boat! Very nice!
Jerry Smith
careful, u might end up buying other people’s problem
you never know what your buying. The inside could be grose and bout to drown out at sea like a different video we saw but he never showed that instead he merely spoke about it for seconds. Ever hear of a Lemon??????
Love how you restored this boat!! My hubby an I use to have boats but we're older now and can't go boating, unfortunately. TY
i covered the walls and ceiling of my bow inside with spray foam and carved out a cave effect and spray painted it and installed lights.
housedadtrains
That sounds badass! Did you use gray paint?
That sounds awesome
You guys do amazing work, attention to detail is spot on. Wish I was in Florida!!!
Harbor Freight shop fans work really well as well, a lot of power behind them for cheap
The LED strips from Home Depot are a little more expensive but the glue on them is crazy strong.
You guys have done a fantastic job. Loving the splatter in the cabin turned out perfect. Keep up the great work and videos.
Bay Pines boat ramp for sure! And then the S curves. Ppl that know that ramp know the S turns. I have literally launched 1000 plus boats there. My Dad owned the service department for Thunder Marine in the 90’s into the early 2000’s. Lots of great memories at that ramp. Also launched a few offshore race boats there too. Love your passion
That paint splash is really cool!
It came out looking really good
TheWolfePit I didn’t think it was going to look very good when you started the splash. I was pretty surprised when you finished it! It looks very nice!
It fits the age of the boat to the splash paint was the style back in the the early to mid 1990s.
@@ThatBoatGuy I forgot what boat you bought where you repainted the deck with a roller. Can you recommend a strong gel coat for ny diamond patterned deck to repaint. Doesn't need to be anti skid as it already had the diamond pattern. One that is strong and can be used with a foam roller
@@ThatBoatGuy do you sell the boats after the fact ?
Love the videos man. I hope for more some day. Really enjoyable to watch and the style in which you restore the boats, and walk us through the process is perfect. Big love from Australia, guys. Cheers.
Your neighbors must love you lol. Great job!
Like what you guys are doing. I'll check out the pad thing. I live on the west coast northern cal. in the heart of the delta and I've bought an old 67' glasspar and am restoring. You are giving me ideas. I don't work as fast as you guys (79 yrs old) but if all goes well I'll be back in the water soon. Looking forward to your next video.
you never showed us if the sink works
Been waiting 5 years to see the sink work 😢
I know you make money on them, but thats a labor of love. Its evident as you speak, that you enjoy the restoration process and bringing things back to life. The end result looked amazing.
Wish I could find a boat like this at that price, “jealous”
I'm glad you kept all the bloopers and goofin around.
When you said you had a buddy coming over to paint it...then next clip was a dude with a rattle can spraying it, I was dying🤣🤣🤣 until I realized he was just priming it.
Excellent work. Only upgrades I would do is throw on a Yamaha 4 stroke, put in new wiring and upgrade the radio equipment but this is a solid base for whoever buys this boat from you.
Love it! I’d Peel off the old graphics and put new modern ones on.
Glad I found your channel. Love watching these videos while I wait to pick up my new old boat after winter.
Great job! Who did your cushions? I'm local and need some reupolstering work done.
Great video - and what a fantastic buy!
Well worth the time and money spent to get an exceptional craft.
The v6 motor sounded sweet! Subscribed!
This is the best thing i've ever watched
What a Maroon! And what not..... Gotta love his enthusiasm and work ethic. "No one will ever know", except the world. They're having fun anyway.
This is awesome. The transformation from start to finish shows the work put into it. The paint job ya'll did to the forward cabin was right on target IMO. Did you put this boat up for sale? Subscribed
I’m just thrilled that I found some smart decent people from Florida. I’ve watched 5 videos so far and I love it . I’m in Montana great content guys
If you got this boat for $1,500 and made it look like new how much are you asking for it? Great job guys.
Your only lucky if the motor runs/works and you don't have to pay $$$ for repairs. I have a feeling these guys run the engines before they buy them.
They fudge the boat price for views
?
How much you want for this great boat.nise job
@@joshuaunderwood1873 watch till the end pal.
after you polished the gel coat invest in sparbright liquid wax for fiberglass boats it is used to protect the high dollar paint on the boats
follow instructions it will keep the gloss forever so long as you follow the instructions i've used it for years on my boats and the on my fiberglass
camper top for my truck
Nice boat, i like the picasso cabin looks good lol. Maybe better put the top down, if your going faster... What does a water seporator look like?(need one)
Menno Boon looks like a screw-on oil filter with a fuel line out of each side of the base.
Again, your closing shots are really good. Another great restoration. I’m not a boat guy. At all. I like what you do so I’ll keep watching.
splatter - load brush with paint - with one hand throw brush toward splatter area -hitting other hand causing paint to fly off brush
I've been a car detailing kinda guy. But gotta say I'm hooked now on your channel. Great work. Guys are talented.
Looks great. Curious what type of paint you used in the cabin.
that paint looked grose n cheap n tacky
I am too but no reply..
Paint is God's soap !,Beautiful job you guys !!
Best video yet! Love the style of boat and you guys did an amazing job. Thanks for sharing!
You need a bead of bathroom sealant around that sink counter top to stop spills from spilling down the back of the cabinet; & it'll make it look much nicer. 😀👍
Boat needs some trim tabs and it would be a perfect little runaround for fishing and diving.
Very nice! Well done! Greatings from Greece, i am close to do the same thing in a greek cabin boat of 1990 but i have second thought because of the broken engine...
Love the vids. Protect ur new canopy..storm coming. Love watching a local channel. Keep it up.
Great video! Incredible restoration. Loved how you’re flying through the channel at 22:42! Nothing better than being on the water when it’s smooth like that.
What kind of paint do you use for bottom and inside cabin ?
Imo I would use a 2 part polyurethane would be more expensive but is more durable and will last much longer. Since it is trailerable and being stored on land a bottom shelf bottom paint would probably be ok. Its best to use 2 coats with 2 different colors on the bottom so its easier to determine when the first coat has worn off and time to recoat.
Great job but one thing I personally would have done was to add some of that aqua color to the cushions in the cabin to help brake up the white a little more. Besides that great job.
subscribed, just what I needed, one more expensive hobby to follow. Looks like a great job yall.
If you use webbing solution with gelcoat you can spray the "splatter paint" it helps with even coverage.
to glue the lights upside down in the interior I always use 3M double face tape for exterior use. it will never come off
You're right and a hair dryer will help if its cold or humid.
Seaswirl was an Oregon company located in Culver. They made some great boats, we have a few still running. Great to see someone restore one.
Great job👍 I used to have one of these up in Seattle , mine had a 4.3 V6 inboard/io😀
👍Looks terrific. Got yourself a fun small bought. You splurge on giving so much detail to the out motor that I just don’t understand why you decided to do the paint splatters in the cabin (but hey to each their own…I guess that’s just a personal decoration type thing). 😂The most important thing is it floats & runs really well. 💝
Love the vids , That polish gizmo is pretty cool . Thanks
I love this video.
Please continue saving more
Boats that needs more love.
And u- Guys accomplished all that work in 27 1/2 minutes :-) She looks good and runs well.
That Boat needs trim tabs, underway with one person it lists to starboard. I have a 2000 victory sea hunt it did the same thing. I installed trim tabs and what a remarkable difference in the boat's attitude when underway. My engine is the same a 175 ocean pro Johnson. Nice video and very nice renovation job.
So how did you paint the bottom where then bunk skids were in contact?
Chuck Norris's bench press
Nice buff job. The only thing that looked cheap about that boat was thee fabric cover blowing in the wind, if it had some sort of leather case to keep it from blowing in the back would have looked complete. Nice job.
Beautiful footages in the end ! And the boat looked great
Not even a boat guy...yet, but I enjoy watching these videos. Nice work y'all!
Eric how’s that cabin coming along ? 🤣😂
40 beers in.... Yea nah nothing's changed.
Nice job guys. Fun to watch it come along so beautifully.
Some 3M double-sided tape will work wonders holding up those LED strips. :-)
I really enjoy your videos primarily because I appreciate your business model and how you’re able to assess the boats real value based on your skill set to restore it for a profit. If I lived in Florida I’d be looking to buy a boat from you. Keep it up and good luck.
A year later, I see boats like this on Craigslist. "Soft spots on deck, engine seized, $11,000."
I still see boats like this on my Craigslist it’s great
Great find. Great job. Great drone shots!
Beautiful boat, and the scenery is wonderful. You have much talent.
It would be nice to post how much all the these boat projects sell for. Great job.
I gotta ask how do you find these boatshirts so cheap. I have such a small budget n been looking for a center console boat for a couple years. Show me the way oh wise one.
Yes me too!!
She's beautiful. Very nice refresh and spatter cabin paint really pops. Maybe the hull in the color matched green would really standout. That black must be that antifouling paint?
WHAT DID IT SELL FOR?
It sold for "CASH" and if he told us he'd have to pay tax on the profit.
@@peterdarr383 yeah thats probably it. What do you think tho. Probably a bit below or above 4?
Wow man. Looks great... makes me want to go out and find an old one to restore. Love to see something that old in such good condition. Thanks for sharing.... I subbed.
When you pulled the knob off the grill I died 🤣
Knob*
Great resto and awesome drone footage!!!
@Thatboatguy So the big question(s) how many man hours and how much $$$$$$ to turn the old boat into what you made it???? And it’s worth now
(Would help give us viewers more perspective on the time and $ investment )
There is some information in the description
Congratulations well done. liked painting in cabin 👍🏻 Nice lines on that boat. Kind regards 🇸🇪
It’s a awesome boat 🤣 I think I saw. “Go Daddy” on the side but your a awesome dude and you should always be making these amazing videos
Go Daddy Go
Girl Lovers they probably put that because its old asf
the seats get chewed up like that on boats from birds pecking away at them. i had to redo the seats on my old boat from the same problem. a bird lands on the railing and sees a bug or a fishing weight or whatever on the seat, then destroys the seat trying to get it. i saw them do the same thing to my neighbor's boat like a week later.
Was that a hole under the throttle lever that wasn’t repaired?
I just bought a very similar boat but roof lower no engine and nothing empty shell, 2 and a half tons on one wheel axel, so your inspiring me to fix it up now,
How much? omg you keep doing what I want to get I am soo jealous of your ability and skill lol BTW what would you need to pull and handle that size?
It’s not a big boat. If I had to guess maybe 2400lb dry weight.
suv or halfton
its aluminum trailer and 22 foot boat
Nice paint job. Another good clean up.
it needs to re carpeted or the condensation is going to be immense
You need to drill a hole in the top of your tractor bucket and put a hitch ball in it. Makes ti really easy to move the boat around
