For my ear these are the perfect Hi hats. I have the 15" model and love them to death. Dark but crisp. Slightly chocolaty but have a nice crunchy bite. I have these on one side and then a set of 15" 2002 sound edge on the other side on a cable hat. They blend like peanut butter and jelly!!!

Hello. Nathan Walsh, I play in a heavy metal band here in Brazil and I'm thinking of changing my old hi-hat for one of this model. You who own one, what do you think of it for the style: Megadeth, Metalica, Black Sabbath, etc. ???

@@niltondias3107you could go with these. Personally though, if you are only playing metal, it might be better to go for 14s in the signature series, 2002, RUDE, just my opinion.

I'm looking to buy a hat for my music production (so I don't have to use a midi hat), and it looks like this is the hat I'm settling on. Yes they are really expensive, especially for my first ever drum/cymbal, but I'm positive the difference in tone they can provide will make them well worth it for me. I eventually plan on buying another cymbal and then a snare once I can play the hat well, but for now it's going to be all hat for me lol.

Personally I think the bottom hat is way too heavy on this model.

Does anyone know if the 14" version is sought after?

In this line I like the 15s more and I usually play 14s

There's a lot up on reverb. Just got a pair for 440. Badass. They project better than the 15s at least on recordings

It was between these and 16" Giant Beats and I went with the Giant Beats. Second guessing my decision

There is no need at all for a pair of hi hits bigger than 15". You get plenty of sound out a light weight pair itself. If you want more, go up on weight or different brand of cymbal. This is just my opinion. I don't want a pair hi hats usually bigger than my snare drum. I know snare drums are usually 14 inches, by 15" hi hats you don't notice. I think it's obnoxious to have 16" hi hats, you probabably find a good sound, but I don't think that you couldn't find a pair of 15" hi hats that wouldn't be almost exact? 16" are just to big for where they are placed on your kit. I mean, what are you gonna have 16 hi hats, and 24,26,28 in crashes to go with it? Not for me.
