The vision is very focused on the Western world, of course, but in India, there is an absurd amount of cults where swamis-gurus are basically seen as Gods. Their followers kiss their feet, prostrate themselves touching their foreheads at their Guru's feet and do not make any decisions without their leaders approving them. Scary and sad! I think you would never see a interview like this, happening here in India!

Cults typically persist even after the founder dies. Also, the existence of a central founding figure is not an absolute requirement for the underlying destructive cult behaviour to manifest.
It's all very well talking about smaller organizations that are cults. But what happens when psychological control is exerted by large organizations such as government or corporations? They can still be destructive. I've thought for a while we need a Hippocratic Oath for psychology, to do no harm ; so much psychological knowledge is used to manipulate people against their own interest, but we think it's normal in this age. Mind control/manipulation nudging people to act against their own well being should be wrong in any organization.
Yeah we are victims of a present day cult in Pakistan in the form of a political party called PTI who's leader is followed by his followers like a demi god and accepts whatever he says even if he says one thing right now and take a U turn on it tomorrow, the follower will somehow make a reason to prove that both previous and current statements are correct
