I hear they are still doing that today so check them out. You’re welcome...🤑
@@MisterUnpredictable that’s true, I’ll give you that. I never avoided those particular states. The main reason that I didn’t is because most of them had good paying loads back to the Midwest. When I (and most others) say 13 Colonies, I mean NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, DL, etc., just to “be real here.”

If you pull $5k to the truck in a week their cut is $1,250.. My authority cost me less than $5k (including insurance down payment) to get set up and my monthly expenses for my authority is roughly $1,5k /month.. That includes my insurance 3 load boards , my e-logs and few minor things. Yes I have to drop a bit more than that money cost for new insurance down payment, tags ect.. but it's still far less than paying some company like Landstar 25% of my loads.. Honestly I did look at both Mercer and Landstar and did the math and it was obviously a better deal to pull my own authority vs run for either of them. I just do not get why so many of you guys do this and you still really don't get to pick your own loads because yea you can say hey I want this one but you have to hope no one else is qued up in front of you that wants it too... Oh and for the record I still pull landstar loads from time to time and probably get more for them that you guys do because I can negotiate with them on the price which I don't think you guys get that option.

You catch Sammys latest in TH-cam AP did an article on him doing a run across country. Turning into movie star. Really good article. Well you made the move. I hope it works out for you. I was in construction I have watched many tower cranes being assembled and taken down. But these are heavy loads which you know. Yea..Make Cents the next stop might be hollywood. Truck repairs, check out. " Just Truckin. He does all his own repairs. Knows his way around trucks. Well stay safe and Stay Busy. If it don't MakCents it won't make Dollars.!! I'm out
Yes sir, AP did an awesome job with the video and article, very cool stuff. Just Truckin is doing a great job keeping everyone informed about the rates he’s seeing as well.
Dude soo much RAMBLING... Wtf man... Youre a cool guy, i watch your videos sometimes. But stay on point man
Quick way regarding the math. Firgure our 10% of the number then it’s easy to do the math. 😎
Lol, sadly math is by far my best subject and specifically mental math. My calculus teacher in high school used to get mad at me because I wouldn’t show all of my work 😂 rough day I guess 🤷🏼♂️
But ur saving fuel and insurance is alot lower my opinion
Now I’ll learn to spell betta!!
Liar
Good video stay busy and safe!
I do like that hat.
Unfortunately a lot of larger brokers and customer will not use Landstar by the few who double broker and ruined it for your company. We’ve lost multi million dollar customers due to this and now the majority of our customers have a ban on Landstar regardless if it’s a real truck or not. Wishing you the best!
Dan And The Lions Den It’s true
That’s a bummer, I appreciate it
😬 get used to "that loads covered" and "they won't work with landstar". If it was easy then everyone would do it, right?
What's the point being an O/O and working for a company that's taking a cut of the load, instead of just taking loads off the boards and keeping all the money for you?
Insurance rates
Fuel discounts
Tire and maintenance discounts
IFTA
Load network and possibly find dedicated lanes through agents
I’m tired of individuals asking why O/O leases on become one, run a truck and then form your own opinion. You got independents running there company under the ground for a independent title it’s silly. With the savings of partner with a big established carrier you come the same if not better. I’ve partner with a carrier and when I had truck issues they paid for it and just took it out my settlement and I was able to keep running making money with small deductions out of my settlement. Almost 3 years later I’m still a O/O
@@antonioleak1313 that’s right....you are correct sir.
Do owner operators get paid anything for deadheading or is it a straight up shitty part of it? S
Welcome to the Fam!😎
Joined LS in the end of Feb this year)
Welcome brother. 12 years @ Landstar here. Say no to cheap freight!
How else would you take a crane down? Lol
Yes you need a mobile crane to setup and take down a tower crane...
Maybe you miss the irony of it all
Chubaka Sammy 😂😁😂 nice
Should of stayed at Mercer!
No not really
Why stay at Mercer?. To haul Landstar freight for even less to truck?
Now I see why company have favoritism drivers SMDH?!?!
👍😉.
👍✌️🇺🇸!!
I thought your other company was the best in the business??
As far as the spot market is concerned yes, I even mentioned that in the video if you actually watched it
Its 65 or 75%
For me it’s actually 73% but other factors involved it’s about 75% if you use one of their dry vans it’s 65% but probably about 67%
@@DrivenTrucking If your lo pro is under 36 inches height loaded, you can call heavy haul and they'll classify you as specialized and you'll get 75%. So I've HEARD. 🤷♂️
2/mi?? That’s horrible!!
