@@ChapSinclair Thats not generally true. The females baseball was profitable enough that they did it during WW2, when the men's league couldn't play. And even today there are women's sports that are extremely profitable. Like women's soccer in the US, or Biathlon and soccer in Europe. Or beach volley ball. Things are just different in the US with football and baseball and basketball - sports that are niche sports at best in other parts of the world.
Many. It’s called softball now. I personally don’t know of any womens baseball teams though but that isn’t saying much. I’m sure there are a few. This is softball not baseball but todays terms. Not sure when the term came to be.

Hornsby wore a wig and pretended to be a girl while playing on the team." I don't know if this exactly answers your question but it comes close at least. Actually not very bigoted for the time if you ask me!
