  • Our friends at the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival are so disappointed to be unable to perform for you this year, however we are delighted to share our favourite moments from the last 26 years of G&S at the magnificent Buxton Opera House.
All these fabulous productions and more are available on the Festival’s new streaming service at www.gsopera.tv. Enjoy!

Wonderful. Thank you performers, musicians, photographers and everyone involved. Sitting here 6000+ miles away in South Africa these bring back many happy memories of D'Oyle Carte, Gilbert and Sullivan for all and the many amateur productions i saw in UK when i lived there. I wish I could be there live but I'm too old to undertake the travel. All the very best to you. Duncan from Durban.

When the night wind howls is a wonderful piece, sung by a great Sir Roderick.

The Japanese production of The Mikado was the first thing I ever saw the first time I ever went to Buxton, and it's has never been bettered!

Was that John Reed in the open air performance?..to me he was the one and only Major General and Sir Joseph Porter.KCB and will never be surpassed. The patter songs were his speciality, and he carried them off superbly... I were lucky enough to see him in the 60s, play both roles in Manchester, when the Doyly Carte did a week at the theatre..

Yes, that was John Reed. It must have been one of his last public appearances, as he was at the age of 81 in 1997.

== TIME HAS RUN OUT !! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Don't ignore this message... REPENT NOW !! TRUST that God raised Him from the dead !! By FAITH accept JESUS's blood alone as payment for your sins unto Salvation, to escape what's about to happen !!
