  • The iPhone 15 Pro/Max unfortunately doesn't work well with all lens brands and so in this video I test the Freewell Sherpa lenses to learn how they perform.
    Note: Freewell does not currently offer a telephoto so I couldn't test that, but they should have one on the market soon and I hope to include it in a future video. Also, no lenses I’ve tested so far work properly on the Pro Max 5x Tele.

      Either will work. I probably like the Beastgrip more though as it’s very versatile. And yes, stabilization works fine. If you use heavy stabilization sometimes when panning the image might “swim”, but I use it most of the time unless I’m locked off on a tripod.

    Hey thanks, very helpful video! As someone who is interested in the 1.33 anamorphic and the fisheye lens, would you prefer these Sherpa lenses over the T series lenses from moment? Sherpa looks really good to me but the size/weight scares me off a bit. On the other hand Moment is not so easy to get in EU. Also do you think the ND filters from Freewell are enough for bright conditions (Nd64 is the highest as far as I saw)

    • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The ND are fine IMO. But they don’t work on the Fisheye. I haven’t tested the T-Series Fisheye or 1.33x yet, but I have the 1.55x and it’s getting mixed results on the 15 Pro Max (working on a video about it). Their Tele doesn’t perform that well, but the 18mm is good. So I’d probably say Sherpa right now with the caveat that I’m still testing other lenses.

These phones have made me lazy! lol I am going to an island just south of the north pole and I want the chance to take more than descent photo's with my iPhone 15pro. After watching your video's about the different lense companies, I've narrowed it down to the Shiftcam Pro or the Sherpa. Not taking much video and will probably stick to a kit that includes a wide angle, a telephoto and a filter. Both companies have pro's and con's. Do you think one works better than the other for shooting photography? I know you're working on a new comparison video, but not sure it will be out before my trip. Either way I'll keep watching!

      They can be used with the iPhone 15 Pro… On the main 1x and also 3x Tele. But on the Pro Max they only work on the main 1x and not the 5x.
      If you already have Beastgrip then I’d probably stick with them. The MK2 is a nice lens and you can add any third-party filters you want. • @iphoneographers
      @iphoneographers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve not used that phone, so I guess it’s possible the sensor or camera bump are affecting the image circle and causing vignetting. One thing I’m pretty sure you could do was attach it to the tele and you would push past anything on the wider lens causing issues. And then you can also reframe and post production. So when you’re framing your shots up just shoot a little wider, then know you’ll push in in post about 10% (or whatever is needed) to get rid of the vignette.

      What kind of setup are you looking for? A filmmaking rig or for TH-cam videos or what type of work? There are lots of ways to go, so let me know and I’ll try to give some guidance. Thanks for watching!

      Iphone 15 pro max
      I am currently buying Hohem isteady mt2
      I am wiiling to shoot music clips, artistic cinematics 24-25 fps 48 / 60 shutter speed, and usual blog / backstage videos @iphoneographers
      My main focus is on fisheye and anamorphic 1.33 + must have is a ND filer 2-5 or even 6-9 stops (compatible with lenses)
      Furthemore i would like to be able to use CPL and CineBloom (like Moment) if possible
      Most of all i liked the SmallRig x Brandon Li cage beacuse it is very handy but i cant be sure
      In short i want it all, being able to expand my arsenal in future, without restrictions switching from 1 brand to another
      dont waste my money so to speak
      this is big request tho, i would like to give donations if u can devote ur time in this situation
      if choose between lenses and filters i would choose lenses, and handcraft the filters later on

    I bought it and the lens really doesn't hold up well. And if you have the misfortune of touching this cumbersome lens, it tends to detach itself from the iphone! deception about the effectiveness of this system!

      Which lens did you get? I’ve not had any detach. The mount is a little finicky at first, which I detailed in the other overview video, but once you figure it out they’re secure and work as advertised. If you got a defective lens or maybe case, then I would return it.

      Thank you, that's very honest of you. I think I'll get an anamorphic again but one that screws on. It will hold better.@@iphoneographers

    Personally I think ALL the lenses are a waist of time and money. With the iPhone already have 3 great lenses and good for every situation.

      For everyday kind of video then sure, but if you want to do anything more high-quality… And also especially for photography….Then the reason you use lenses is because you want to use your main 24mm camera/lens. It has the 48MP sensor, the fastest aperture, and it’s the largest so you get much better low light performance and also more shallow depth of field. Lenses also provide specialty looks like anamorphic or fisheye that you can’t get with the native built-in ones.
