You need to get a wedge and sledge instead of killing your saws ......i wouldnt cut it with my o44 stihl unless i had to....use wedges and a sledge and you need to watch for kickback when you have the nose of the saw in there
Joe, great whiskey drinking video! I was out this weekend, didn't pinch my saw bar, my back windshield is intact, safe and planned stratwgies, and i got a lot done. Thanks for the edeecashion on what not to do...love it!
Definitely bring the splitter to the woods and vertical split I know you have to take off the side table but will save time , saw ,blade and fuel . thanks for the video
Joe's Firewood Videos c,mon Joe. Why do you call a cat a cat, or a chainsaw a chainsaw? Calling it wrong shows you don’t really know your stuff. You don’t have to post videos to be an expert as you clearly show.
I said he needs to.didn't say he would take good advice.seriously,I could have loaded about 10 of those rounds in the time he spent farting around cross cuttinging them, ruining his chains, and wearing out himself and his saws
@@JoesFirewoodVideos I meant after you had it most of the way cut. Could have stood it up so you're not cutting towards the dirt and probably gotten through it easy.
@@bradywest2900 I know. I have Buckthorn where I cut. You are lucky to see 10ft off the trail in the woods so I clean it up before I cut the tree down.
@@JoesFirewoodVideos I was going to this spring when the snow was on the ground. But the snow melted too fast, so I guess when we get a snow fall this fall
Thats called rip cutting.....its already been cross cut
That's what I call it.
Stop the video ,while you adjust the props.
Wish it worked that way, however my iPhone 10 is either stop or start, unfortunately there’s no pause.

I sometimes do that.
No Games
Nope it was hot that day. I am liking the current weather better.

Amauling job! Didn't know you could swing that babe!

That is not cross cutting. It is ripping or noodling. Cross cutting is cutting across the log such as bucking.

You seriously need a small trailer you can just roll those up onto.maybe even a small boom with a grapple for loading that big stuff

What Happened to your newer 461
I hate having to do that. It helps to have a really sharp chain.
10/4 that helps a lot
Even a razor sharp chain won't stay that way long when criss cutting, especially hickory
Yeah buddy I know it
That's what I do with the big ones. When hickory is wet it is very stringy and hard to split. Good job, nice wood. Pam s gonna donate some gloves.
Joe spends all his extra money at the casino amd lottery. He can afford his own gloves.
The whisky is begineng 2 affetc Pams spelning 😎
Whatever ya do, don't sit the log upright so it'll be easier and faster to cut ;)
Nope, it’s slower that way

need more strong beers
A lot of strain on the saw, cutting with the grain.
You need a go find me page for gloves lol
I can lift those without cutting it. Even with the bad back

Exactly
Exactly.
Way to go JPF. Nothin wrong with that little bit of work. Done that a Lot with 3 ft. Rounds. Have good day all , till the next one
Cross cutting is good if you haven't got a splitter.
Crosscut? I know you meant RIP.
A ripping chain is more suited.
Put a rip chain on the 460 and be done with it.
@@JoesFirewoodVideos
No different than any other saw cut.
Against the grain = crosscut.
With the grain = rip cut.
Whatever
That what I do a lots with the big ones. Heck I even cut the big round in 6 pieces just to handle them. Good job
Thats ok if you are just cutting some wood for personal use,but professional wood cutters don't have time for that nonsense

Joe, how about a poll to see if 200 subscribers will each kick in $20 towards that truck for Mike.
@@JoesFirewoodVideos Ok good. Let's see how it goes. I'm in.
The engine in my truck died finally. It sucks.
I was wondering if you use recreational gas or not its 90 octane and has no ethanol in it.
Lots of work when you start ripping those blocks with a chainsaw.
Looking good mates!!!😆Nice.😆
I would bring in the splitter in this situation
