Thank you for a nice review, it was very entertaining to watch this, as i'm swedish myself. A few thoughts and tips: -The orange-ish drink where the powder pooled at the bottom should be made with hot water to be a kind of Dessert-like orange soup. -For really long time all kinds of pasta were called spaghetti in Sweden, so today that tin would probably be labeled "Pasta & Köttfärssås" or translated Pasta with meat sauce. -Generally the liver pate is served Cold(from the fridge) in a open-face sandwich with the paté, some tomato slices and dill pickles. And it would probably have been eaten as breakfast, swedes almost never eat sandwiches for anything but breakfast. Love from Sweden
That's a nice little trip down memory lane, I always liked the 'guldburk' version of the field rations. One thing I remember fondly is the way that the lemon beverage heated up on a cold day really warmed you up to the bones. Thanks for posting!
Awesome DOG !! great review, and different type of meal. I love how everyone comes together to translate, or help out. Most items, without google translate, well, you know, is A challenge lol. Gotta love this little community ! Peace, John, Magnum
Oh damn the memories and flashbacks are real! Did the mandatory service plus 12 months back in 97-98 and our packs were similar. But we only got one pack of coffee and pea soup was always included. We guys used to sneak into the food storage barracks before going out in the field and stock up on those coffee bags and digestive cookies. Worked fine until our captain found out and had us cleaning gear for 2 weeks ;)
LOL! By the time I was leaving Bragg I was so sick of MREs I refused to eat them. My whole pack was filled with Beef Jerkey, dried fruit and booze. Cheers!
I'd typically have liver paste at room temperature and I'll spread it on toast. Since the bread is warm from the toaster, it also warms up the liver paste. I usually spread/melt butter over the toast before I spread the liver paste. Good snack or breakfast. :) Oh and I loooove Fruitella-Strawberry.
love the reviews gundog & moreso you are the only American I have ever heard use the word bloody , always thought only us Brits used itBLOODY MARVELLOUS !!!
Wow, thats fond memories to me. Although I got mighty fed up with the prairie stew after a while. It seemed like that was in 90 percent of the packs (I did my military service in the 90:s by the way). It was ok the first couple of times, but when you have eaten it every day for a whole week, you sort of don´t want to eat it ever again :-) I liked the pea soup the best. And there was a chocolate bar with puffed rice in it that was awsome. The chocolate bars sort of turned into a currency. You could trade it for anything basically. To those of you who react to the age of these cans, we were served cans that was much older when I did my military service, so they are fine, as long as the cans aren´t punctured in some way. Cool to se these videos. Strangely addictive to se you and Steve1989 eat all these different MRE:s from all over the world. Keep it up!
Apelsinsoppa=Orange soup , Mix contents of bag into 4 dl (400ml) of boiling water. And the Saftpulver=lemonade powder , Mix contents with 6.5 dl (650ml) cold or warm water. Both best before 2007.
In Denmark we eat leverpostej for lunch on rye bread, and on special occasions we heat it up and serve it with fried mushrooms and crispy bacon ofc on top of rye bread. Sooooo good
The orange drink with the powder on the bottom should have been a thick soup or even a pudding, the bag calls for 4 dl of boiled water. And the lemon drink bag said 4,5 dl on the label ( 9:20 ) - so that one could have had a bit more taste too. But still, a good review!
In 1997/98 we usually got one or two of these before going into the field and if we could not get food made and delivered to us we broke out the rations. There was usually a lot of trading going on.
I honestly don't know how the hell they did it but they sure made these rations to last a LONG time. (Probably lots and lots of heavy radiation or something ^_^) During a trip to my gramps really remote huntingcabin a cpl of years back ( mid winter 2007) I ended up being stranded there completely without food for a week longer than planned all because of REALLY crappy weather. I then found alot of these kind of rations tucked away in the back of a cabinet (Thank you gramps). However, those I ate were canned in 1986, and the chocolate was made 1988. I have to be honest, I was a bit worried about eating risotto, pea soup and "jägargryta" ("hunters stew" I guess) from -86, but they weren't all that bad =). I actually miss those chocolate bars to this day as I used to eat tons of them as a kid when hanging with my gramps. I remember there was one called "Chocolate crisp" from the -88 lot. those were actually really awesome and kept me going until the snow cleared up and I got out of there. =) Kudos for making these rewievs dude.!
Ya know it was the first time I ever did that and I have admit, it tasted much better than room temperature Then again I really don't care for liver so there were really no real winners. Cheers
Wow gundog, what a hearty meal. Was this a single meal or designed as lunch and dinner meals? You got some great extras with this one. I am sure we will be seeing that Swedish cutlery set again in the future. I liked that Mora Kniv. I have a Mora High Q Robust Kniv myself. I thought I knew how to sharpen my knives before I bought my Mora. Haha...after i saw how scary sharp my Mora was I had to re-evaluate my knife sharpening skills. I eventually settled on using a Harbor freight 4 sided diamond honing block. It is able to get all my knives hair shaving sharp.
We can start of with the "beer" no it's canned horsepiss Two. You did get 2 of the more edible "guldburkarna" a can of "död mans fingrar" sausage and baked beans in tomato sauce I do believe it's the most buried foodcan in sweden Something you miss in the ration is pansarkex/armor biscuits
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leverpostej Its acctualy really popular here, i love it, its almost a breakfast staple as sandwiches are almost exclusivly eaten in the morning over here. cheers mate!
Nowadays you can find Wasa Crackers (crisp bread) in the US. I've gotten them in North Carolina in HarrisTeeter and FoodLion stores. They are stacked in the cookies section, even though they are really more of a type of bread. I like them with either cheese or liver pate with slices of cucumber or pickles. Honey+slices of banana is another way some people eat them. My hubby likes them the American way with peanut butter and jelly!
You eat them just like the Swedish :) Knäckebröd with cheese or liver pate with some cucumber slices is the most common way of eating them. The most luxorious way we eat them in Sweden is with butter, cheese, smoked ham, one cucumber slice, one tomato slice and some slices of bell pepper. Try that out, its great :) Another comon way of eating them is with a sliced boiled egg with kaviar topping. Google: "Knäckebröd pålägg" for some swedish style inspiration :)
Maria Proctor i have always been able to get Wasa crisp in Minnesota. We used to buy it way back in early 80s, and still can in pretty much every food store.
man i have been looking all over for a chow set like that but all i can find are the commercial american ones. where can i get something authentic like that ?
Coleman's surplus has German stuff but it's pricey. The Yugoslavian mess kit set come with a set of cutlery and it's pretty nice. Will be showcasing it in a review next month.
because in swedish the word kaka means Cookie.. But we also use it as the word "bar" as see this case.. We know it means something else in other languages, but that goes for a lot of words :P
The English word cake (and cookie) stems from the Scandinavian kaka/kage. About two thousand such old Norse words (that were brought to England by the Vikings, and the Normands) survived into modern English.
Hi, name is Chris and I'm looking to start my own channel. If you could give me some advice on camera's and how you get all you MRE's. I'm an ex-vet. and was very disappointed to find out our enemy's and allies have much better food then we do. Any advice or help will be appreciated. Thank you
The reason the leverpastej doesn't taste that very much of liver is because you make it by mixing liver, minced pork and lard. Then you spice it and put cream in it. It's my favourite sandwhich topping and i make it myself sometimes for christmas. There are though some types of leverpastej which are more course and with bigger chunks and that tastes more like liver. There are people here who don't like liver but think leverpastej is allright. Oh and that orange coloured drink is "orange soup" in english, you can get theese types of cold drinks in Sweden in the stores flavoured with strawberry, rasberry, blueberry etc etc. or you can heat it up. The other orange flavour drink however is orange lemonade. Too bad you didn't get the "lapskojs" and/or "Pyttipanna" which are more distinctley swedish/nordic, but since theese cans where quite popular among the soldiers i guess it doesn't matter. :)
Just awsome! Havent seen a Guldburk (golden can) i a while and been looking for a compleat ration set of them that were not insanly old (found some from the early 90´s). and yes i was one of the people that bat an eye at heating the leverpastej ;) realy liked the vid alot. Cheers!
We used to use a long stick and some string to coax those liver paté cans down the chimney and into the stove of the other platoon's tents at night during training. The pretty powerful explosion would lift the lid of the stove and spray hot liver paté into the face of the unexpecting firewatch guy. Everybody would wake up and laugh. No real harm done. Pretty fun though.
Yeah I learned a little from my grandmother but that was 40 years ago. I used to speak decent Spanish and German but when you don't ever use it it sort of "falls out of your brain" I guess. Cheers!
+gundog4314 the pate did serve another purpose, though. You could stick it in the chimney of another platoons tent, eventually the can would (naturally) explode with a huge bang and the smell was just revolting! Ah, those were the days! Chemical warfare at it's best
You missed out on the BEST dish. White beans, sausage in tomato soup! We call it "Dead man's hand" because it looks like a bunch of fingers with knuckles (bones) in blood soup. As if you put your hand in a blender basically. But it's delicious! Or at least it is when you are out in the woods and starving...
As for how old it is, we used to eat stuff made in 87 back in 2002 all the time. It's not bad, it's just that the stuff wouldn't go to war. Of course, you would always use your nose on these things first and foremost. Even one portion that was within it's date could have gone bad if it wasn't properly sealed.
The spaghetti water on top is normal. You are supposed to cook all the main courses. It happens when you let something sit still for too long. Otherwise, all the lakes you ever visit would be full of silt all the time.
Oh and you should know, all military spaghetti is "armynoodles with ketchup" though in this case, there's less ketchup and more cream/seasoning and old tomatoes mixed in. The two main courses you have are two of my least favorite ones.
I like how you said "slightly" LOL! Honestly I think it psychological since I had yes HAD to eat it as a kid. I can eat it, well I can eat pretty much anything, but it's something I just don't buy.
Other than the handle material I like, like, like that Mora knife. You get any more liver pate you don't want you can send me the extras. I grew up on Braunshweiger, and can't find a good one anymore. I also like the Kippered Herrings, so I guess I could get along with the Danes, Fins, Norsk and Swedes. I beat Sherman looks forward to the packages with the liver pate.
The people mentioning that the canned stuff is a little old have obviously never seen any of Steve1989’s videos in which he eats food older than your grandpa.
Or talked to people who did their swedish military service before the year 2000, they wont shut up about how old the food was. 30 year old cans and even older chocolate. It was all aparantly stuff that been its entire shelf life in storage waiting for ww3. Those cans had a ridicilous quality and were radiated.
I've seen 50's 60's style Swedish medical and engineering kits with the same guard on it, my thought is they don't want you slicing yourself up while under stress. All the US issued fighting knives have a full guard on them to prevent injury to the web on the hand and fingers. Who knows eh?
the spaghetti probably has a lot fat in it going by it being from Sweden and the climate, i'm kind of surprised there wasn't more chocolate going by the climate to? but it's nice to see old school cans along here and there if I do say. i difenitely know what you mean about the liver, to me it's nothing but bait!!
Hello Im liver and you are going to suffer?? I would eat Paté at every meal if I had a choice! I even make my own and I adore chicken livers too, and Russian Paté is the BEST its so gamey and wonderful! To me it is no suffering whatsoever, it is so good. I never knew most people dislike liver? As a child it was my favorite food and its in my top 5 to this day.
This is totally fake the chocolate bar does not have "Krisp" in it ! Also the crackers that came with the box where nicknamed "armoured crackers" they where more similar to very hard "Mariekex" than the crisp bread. If you got the orange powder that tasted just like uncarbonated Fanta.
You need to take in water at ALL times when in the field. The drinks make sure you do so! Also, we used to boil ALL of these. Not just the soup and the main courses. You really want all the HOT stuff you can get, especially in winter.
I was in the Swedish service in the mid 1990-ies and we sometimes had field meals issued that had been manufactured just after the war. They where still 'good' and tasted just as bad as the newer stuff. Looks like you had a nice or one of the best Swedish MRE, the worst was propably 'lapskojs' (untranslatable and unpalatable) and perhaps the pea soup...
Thank you for a nice review, it was very entertaining to watch this, as i'm swedish myself. A few thoughts and tips:
-The orange-ish drink where the powder pooled at the bottom should be made with hot water to be a kind of Dessert-like orange soup.

Love from Sweden
Lovisa Krohn is it Kissel??
The fruit powder thats like dessert I meant
It's almost Kissel, but not exactly, i think the Appelsinsoppa is more liquidy. But it's a good comparison.
love liver pate man or leverpostei in norwegian gotta love it!
Dude I kind of think he knows what he’s doing
That's a nice little trip down memory lane, I always liked the 'guldburk' version of the field rations. One thing I remember fondly is the way that the lemon beverage heated up on a cold day really warmed you up to the bones. Thanks for posting!

You deserve a medal of bravery for often trying older foodstuffs.
Tripcore watch a couple of steve 1981's videos, that is real bravery
love the reviews gundog & moreso you are the only American I have ever heard use the word bloody , always thought only us Brits used itBLOODY MARVELLOUS !!!
LOL! I try not to swear when something goes wrong during these bloody reviews and that's what pops out haha
Wow, thats fond memories to me. Although I got mighty fed up with the prairie stew after a while. It seemed like that was in 90 percent of the packs (I did my military service in the 90:s by the way).

Total ration looked delicious. The dark chocolate bar looked satisfying. Great review.

Mmmmm bacon....
I've had it in Denmark and its pretty good. And of course the bacon is thick and really good.
Stine Kirkeby awesome

Great review, looks tasty. Ive been binge watching your videos tonight:) enjoying them.

I remember during my time in the Swedish military my rifle was a year younger than me and one field meal was three year younger than me.
They made those cans to be in long time mobilization storage. They were so full of preservatives that they were poisonous for the first years or so...
and btw leverpastej isnt suppose to be heated ahha :)
Ya know it was the first time I ever did that and I have admit, it tasted much better than room temperature Then again I really don't care for liver so there were really no real winners. Cheers
gundog4314 yea maby thats why hah i (like most swedish people) like the taste :)
***** are you talking to me? i dident say anything about the drinks lol and im swedish so i know swedish xD
Not FBI och man äter faktiskt inte leverpastej till lunch XD
Xeeyze Artzツ man kan görta om man har de på macka :) man behöver inte äta en stor måltid till lunch. många gör de faktiskt int (i sverige)
Wow gundog, what a hearty meal. Was this a single meal or designed as lunch and dinner meals?

1 fist sized golden can=1 meal.
All swedish golden can rations are safe to eat. They dont have expiry dates on the can because they last for at least 60 years often more.
Thanks Erik
That is a wonderful awesome friend of yours.just the knife amazed me
Hey I may be wrong but I think those pates are 2 dif kinds. The color doesnt change that much when warmed just the fats are creamier
We can start of with the "beer" no it's canned horsepiss
Two. You did get 2 of the more edible "guldburkarna" a can of "död mans fingrar" sausage and baked beans in tomato sauce I do believe it's the most buried foodcan in sweden
Something you miss in the ration is pansarkex/armor biscuits
The Leverpastej is best cold with some butter aswell, and pickles! :D
This is the correct answer!
well, as a swede i want to say that the leverpastej and the hardbread is breakfast, also subscribed
Liver for breakfast? Now I have heard it all. Cheers Joel!
yeah when i saw the liver i thought it was for breakfast too
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leverpostej
Its acctualy really popular here, i love it, its almost a breakfast staple as sandwiches are almost exclusivly eaten in the morning over here. cheers mate!
joel axelsson we usually eat sweet things for breakfast here in italy instead
Yeah Rye crisp bread and pate is more of a breakfast thing......but saying that its pretty good when ever.
Nowadays you can find Wasa Crackers (crisp bread) in the US. I've gotten them in North Carolina in HarrisTeeter and FoodLion stores. Knäckebröd with cheese or liver pate with some cucumber slices is the most common way of eating them.

Another comon way of eating them is with a sliced boiled egg with kaviar topping.

Maria Proctor i have always been able to get Wasa crisp in Minnesota. We used to buy it way back in early 80s, and still can in pretty much every food store.
Liverpate is best cold on bread with some mayo and/or pickles - thats how i eat it in norway
Is the mayo thing common in Norway? I've never heard of it being eaten that way here in Sweden.
Yup
actually, that doesn't sound so bad.. I'll have to try to add some mayo on it next time I have a Leverpastej macka ^^
Majonnäs och leverpastej? Det var något nytt... :P
@@skrivbok nä inte så konstigt faktiskt.
man i have been looking all over for a chow set like that but all i can find are the commercial american ones. where can i get something authentic like that ?
Coleman's surplus has German stuff but it's pricey. The Yugoslavian mess kit set come with a set of cutlery and it's pretty nice. Will be showcasing it in a review next month.
Chocoladkaka? Why is it called kaka? I think that means something in either Portuguese or Russian...
because in swedish the word kaka means Cookie.. But we also use it as the word "bar" as see this case.. We know it means something else in other languages, but that goes for a lot of words :P
The English word cake (and cookie) stems from the Scandinavian kaka/kage. About two thousand such old Norse words (that were brought to England by the Vikings, and the Normands) survived into modern English.
manihot "kaka" means "poo" in russian ^_^
Somehow I missed this last year. So, yeah, I played the new drinking game, and I was smashed by 15:28. Thanks, Gundawg. Hic.
Soppa means soup... maybe It needed warm water...
Yup, the yellow pea soup is supposed to be dilluted with half a can of water.
You do not heat "leverpastej" :/
Noooo. You put it on bread for breakfast. It's one of the most common breakfast topping in Scandinavia.
Sure your do, in the field to prank another tent you can chuck one of the cans into their wood stove.
Burnt leverpastej gives of a lovely smell. >=D
Great review !!!
Pansarkexen då?
it had been a long time since i ate pate and your review make me long for it, haha
Hi, name is Chris and I'm looking to start my own channel. If you could give me some advice on camera's and how you get all you MRE's. I'm an ex-vet. and was very disappointed to find out our enemy's and allies have much better food then we do. Any advice or help will be appreciated. Thank you
Heated leverpastej is actually a thing even thought i did not enjoy it to much as a kid ;) but yeah. I really liked your review!
that "orange sports drink" is actually a soup
Yeah, found that out from the others. Cheers
Usually we had it hot in the winter.
the leverpastej can be eaten warm whit bacon on or cold i am from denmark..... and i love thease vids.....
Mmmm with bacon...Cheers Mads!
All food is cold?
you have a new subscriber good work!
in all ur vids ive never seen the drink packets that big before. looks like its for pitchers instead of cups.
They are made to fit the canteen
orange soup should have 420ml of hot water
The weird spaghetti looks very enticing.. I love liver and onions, I know what dinner is going to be tonight!
Well I seen some odd looking spaghetti over the years but as long as it tastes good I'm fine with whatever it looks like. Cheers SF
p-51? I though it was a p-38 can opener?
The P38 is a normal version you see for C-Rats, there is also a P51 which is a larger version of the same exact thing
Oh ok, I didn't know there were different variations. Thanks for the info.
That stuff brings back some memories. Can't say I loved it when I had to eat it though... :)
So you probably meant The chocklad was 2 years younger, not older?!😊
Just awsome! Havent seen a Guldburk (golden can) i a while and been looking for a compleat ration set of them that were not insanly old (found some from the early 90´s). and yes i was one of the people that bat an eye at heating the leverpastej ;)
realy liked the vid alot.
Cheers!
Yeah, I never did it before either but it really works. Try it you may be surprised!
The Swedish army liver pate was to die for. When I did my service I always traded for buddies portions. :)
I think I still have a few cans of it here. I am just one of those people that never liked liver. Cheers!
How can you read swedish ?
Sven sent a note with it. Cheers!
+gundog4314 aa okey :) I guess that very few speak of the Swedish Americas speak Swedish today
Yeah I learned a little from my grandmother but that was 40 years ago. I used to speak decent Spanish and German but when you don't ever use it it sort of "falls out of your brain" I guess. Cheers!
Yeah Orange SOUP is supposed to be a little strong
Good God, guldburken! That pate is insanely good. I miss those...
But heating it...? Nah!
Like they say, don't knock it till you try it. Cheers!
+gundog4314 the pate did serve another purpose, though. You could stick it in the chimney of another platoons tent, eventually the can would (naturally) explode with a huge bang and the smell was just revolting!
Ah, those were the days! Chemical warfare at it's best
When watching gundog's video, I'll automatically go thumb up... And that has become an natural reaction to me now... =_="
svepte snubben precis?
Aww, Smaland is a beer worth savoring! T-T
Nah. Kallholmen is vastly superior :P
THe pate is for breakdest or snack
liang longlong paté is for anytime!! At least to me. Paté is a food I would want for my last meal if I were a soldier at risk of being killed
cool, I did my military service 97/98(in sweden) and this was allmost exactly like our field rations.
We used to call it the prairie of death, the beans in that can will leave its mark for days.
Using a Mora to open a Swedish ration. How appropriate. :)
-Jen
You missed out on the BEST dish. White beans, sausage in tomato soup!
We call it "Dead man's hand" because it looks like a bunch of fingers with knuckles (bones) in blood soup. As if you put your hand in a blender basically.
But it's delicious! Or at least it is when you are out in the woods and starving...

Of course, you would always use your nose on these things first and foremost. Even one portion that was within it's date could have gone bad if it wasn't properly sealed.
You can read right on the package what the amount of water should be. The first pack is 6.5 deciliters, the second is 4.5 deciliters.
Oh fail... The orange soup... IT'S A SOUP DAMMIT!!! ... Should be added to 4 deciliters of BOILING water.
The spaghetti water on top is normal. You are supposed to cook all the main courses.
It happens when you let something sit still for too long. Otherwise, all the lakes you ever visit would be full of silt all the time.

The two main courses you have are two of my least favorite ones.
Nice haul
The Liverpate is meant to be a breadspread and are not supposed to be heated. Source: Swedish dude as i am^^
Well, I did say that, but rules are meant to be broken. Cheers
Try a slice of onion and some mustard with the liverwurst, that will make it slightly more palatable.
I like how you said "slightly" LOL! Honestly I think it psychological since I had yes HAD to eat it as a kid. I can eat it, well I can eat pretty much anything, but it's something I just don't buy.
Mahlzeit :)
The pate looks like what I'll be giving my dog tonight.
Ben Lutz Haha! He actually got a lamb-based wet food but the same consistency.
Ayre Blossum mmmmm I love liver! Live patés of all types and so do my pet rats, we all love liver.
Too bad you mistook the soups for drinks. They should be warm.
They all end up in the stomach. Cheers!
so....i'm gonna go ahead, and be outstanding. ::drinks 3 more shots, and promptly passes out::
Five years too late but wondering how many grains of drink mix spilled constitute a catastrophe. 😁
+gundog4314 you should try putting a piece of dark chocolate in your hot coffee,we do that a lot in italy.
tell me if you like that ;)
I shall. Cheers
gundog4314 hope you like that.
I think you will since you like dark chocolate like me
Those leverpastej, is expensive as f.. now
The liver paste is so posed to be served cold
That Mora knife has a finger guard.
Isn't that the model they give to children?
I've seen 50's 60's style Swedish medical and engineering kits with the same guard on it, my thought is they don't want you slicing yourself up while under stress. All the US issued fighting knives have a full guard on them to prevent injury to the web on the hand and fingers. Who knows eh?
Skål!!
You DON'T Heat Leverpastej!!!!
From what I recall it sure tasted better than the room temp stuff, but then again, liver is one of the foods I really do not care for at all. Cheers
2002?! That is scary. ._.
Why?
2002 Scary? My next vid is 48 or 49 years old. Muah aha ha...now that's scary
+gundog4314 Yep. That is scarier. o.o
Freeze dried food can stay good for decades
+JonSnowize Oh. That is quite cool. :)
Warm leverpastej is the shit. It's so good
See people! Don't knock it to you try it! Cheers Daniel!
the spaghetti probably has a lot fat in it going by it being from Sweden and the climate, i'm kind of surprised there wasn't more chocolate going by the climate to? but it's nice to see old school cans along here and there if I do say. i difenitely know what you mean about the liver, to me it's nothing but bait!!
We dont use tin can food anymore
Swedish Airsoft still, it's nice to see some old school rats. here and there, I get tired of the vacuum packed stuff in every vid!
Gorgeous
You got dansih white sugar ;) 5:26
Hello Im liver and you are going to suffer?? I would eat Paté at every meal if I had a choice! I even make my own and I adore chicken livers too, and Russian Paté is the BEST its so gamey and wonderful! To me it is no suffering whatsoever, it is so good. I never knew most people dislike liver? As a child it was my favorite food and its in my top 5 to this day.
Well, to give him credit he did eat it, while a depressing amount of people wouldn't even try it. Personally I'm with you, love pate and liver!
Mora knives for life!!!
Haha he boiled the leverpostei! The madman!
I am Swedish American.
The Apelsin soppa u put hot water to it :)

That beer is tasty 😋
Ey, guldburk (gold can)
That's a lot of drinks
Well one of them was supposed to be a soup lol. Tough world when you don't know what's what haha
gundog4314 plus you had the beer at the start as well hahaha
You need to take in water at ALL times when in the field. The drinks make sure you do so!
Also, we used to boil ALL of these. Not just the soup and the main courses. You really want all the HOT stuff you can get, especially in winter.
And also Finnish American.
But... but... its Smalands beer! Thats not really the beat beer in sweden.
Du Menar Smålands öl
I was in the Swedish service in the mid 1990-ies and we sometimes had field meals issued that had been manufactured just after the war. They where still 'good' and tasted just as bad as the newer stuff.
Looks like you had a nice or one of the best Swedish MRE, the worst was propably 'lapskojs' (untranslatable and unpalatable) and perhaps the pea soup...
Lapskojs and pea soup were my favourites...
Dead man's fingers (sausage in white beans and tomato sauce) on the other hand...
@@SonsOfLorgar Dead mans fingers was the only one I could eat...
