This scene takes place at the end of rea's route once you've made one of the two choices, after Reinhard and mercurius defeated each other and marie killed mercurius, they summoned both rea and marie to the temple in which they then tell them that they won't be able to see ren again as he lives in two reality's. They basically forget as if ren existed in their life
