i agree! the acoustic versions make me feel as if we're just chilling underneath a bridge amidst the chaos going on (studio versions).
Brock and Ron's vocals during that bridge was amazing! Of course so was everything else but I wanted to point out how in tune they were. Awesome.

This doesn't sound nearly as polished as the studio version, but there's a certain charm to that.

Unbecoming was the song that got me hooked on Starset and I've been in love for years now. Dustin sounds like he could have used a bit more warming up before this performance, but it's still ok
I honestly feel like all the screaming is murdering his vocal chords. I've seen Starset live 3 times (once for each album) and I feel like his voice degrades with each new release. And let's not forget about MNQN....Dustin is really pushing the envelope. More power to him though, I will always be a fan of Starset and their associated acts.
His breathing still needs work .

@@Woutva It's very easy to make the timing right in a studio....You should NEVER compare a live performance to an album release...If you do that, you know nought about music.
@@sirfullofhimself In terms of murdering vocals not quite. In 2014, he was still trying to get the hang of singing higher, because in his old band Downplay he didn't sing high as much as he does in Starset and that took out a lot of breath. In 2017, from what I've heard he had some sort of sickness or lung disease that messed up his vocal performance after Vessels came out around the time of the 2017 Loudwire Awards. 2018 sounded a lot better and he had been taking lessons to improve how his screams sound and being able to sing higher without losing breath. 2019-2020 definitely showed that live as he didn't lose breath as often as he did back in 2014-2017.

He's made so much progress overtime too and voice got better
He improved alot but still is nowhere near his studio voice. He already is off pitch in the first line of the first verse. He gets better throughout the song. I guess he doesn't warm um properly
@@tomknox7425 these are done at the pre show VIPs where he walks around with his dog and hangs out with everyone before doing a few acoustic songs, so that's probably why there is little to no warm up.
@@joekinggamer2873 He stated explicitly at my VIP last year that he doesn't warm up for them because he sees no need/there isn't time.
Well he did improve but it's not as great as his studio voice. I still love this version though. Hope he can get better and better and better
Haven't heard any live versions from them since Transmissions was released. It's easy to say they really improved.
You should check out the live versions they did in the past few months. Improved is an understatement.

Starset became one of my favorite bands due to their unique cinematic rock style. It was unlike anything I've ever heard. Then they release acoustic songs with such raw, emotional talent. Thanks Starset, you've given me an existential crisis as my mind tries to determine which style is more mind blowing 😉
