So happy that they are mostly setup when they arrive. I have my CXSL cyclocross bike arriving today. I own a GT bike that I had to mostly assemble myself. I can't describe the pain of having to setup/breaks and gears😂 I know some people enjoy the mechanics, but I don't. I was still debugging it 3 months later!
Was excited for my eBike from Ribble. Had watched the easy Ribble Bike set up on TH-cam. Good: 1. The Ribble Customer presales support on line has been wonderful. 2. The eBike reviews all look solid! No so good: 1. Their shipping 'agent' was a challenge to work with-after waiting 3-4 months for Brexit to allow parts and assembly- (and was another unmentioned cost) 2. The ebike arrived in WAY too many pieces for a non professional to assemble --The local bike dealer is assembling for a cost (and noted the front brake rotor was destroyed in shipment-needs to be replaced) 3. Customer service has gone dark on me post arrival Will update once we pay all the extra expenses to get riding. Still excited to ride
Hi Michael, sorry to hear of the damage upon delivery and issues with the delivery. Please reach out to us via our live chat > www.ribblecycles.co.uk/help-centre/#contact and we will look to rectify these problems for you. J @ Ribble
I got one as well in red, the stack is higher on the 872 than the SL, so it makes for a more relaxed ride if that's what you want anyway. I love the chunkiness of the bottom bracket area, gives a nice stiff feeling at the pedals. The steerer tube is also chunky for stiffness there, although I don't really like the look of the steerer tube too much. It really responds well on small hills if you put some effort in I found, by maintaining a decent speed so you can keep climbing. My MTB requires so much power for the same result.
My next bike will be a Ribble Ti... been eyeing it ever since you provided a prize for the Love to Ride Cycle September last year. Hoping you will be stocking the new Campagnolo Ekar groupset... that will be me, made for life.
Can i cut my ribble carbon seat post using hacksaw. Its toooo long for me. I used to cut alloy seatpost in the past. BUT SINCE its carbon , i need any wise advice. Thanks
Ordered the commutor hybrid Shimano. Looking forward to riding as something lighter i probably will be putting 105 fd and rd on it, eventually. Ill see how the acera holds up first. Impressive having carbon folks not a fan of front suspension ill also change the seat as i have a carbon trek one and post. Not a fan of the brown myself the grips will be fine my dad has the fully loaded claris version he was very impressed i was going for a giant mountain bike that granted looks cooler but i know id regret not getting a quality british build instead especially already having upgraded gears.
My bike came packed without the front wheel attached and the break calipers are too tight for me to attach my wheel. How am I supposed to correct this?
Please can someone help husband brought ribble ultra sl put the seat post in before knowing he had to add the triangle part that connects it and can now cannot remove the post in order to place it in any help welcomed
lol, keep hold of the box, it's huge, where do you expect normal people to be able to store that! What do you do if we don't have space for a huge empty box but still need to return the bike?
Hi Steve - we can provide a new box if you have a warranty issue further down the line, or alternatively, you will probably be able to source a box from any bike shop near to you :) Thanks, E@Ribble
Is it possible to install an aftermarket dropper seatpost, and is it possible to arrange for non tanwall tires be special ordered (e.g WTB Byway comes in 2 types of casings)?
You're able to modify the bike as you like once received, if you would like to make changes to the tyres - please see our options available in BikeBuilder, or alternatively drop Customer Services a message to see if we have alternatives available that they can sort for you. Thanks H @ Ribble
@@carlosvittini8308 Agreed- its a complex system - I ve built up over a dozen bikes but there is something not right about my integrated bar and stem...
Got mine yesterday - having a nightmare trying to work out how the saddle clamps work. The various parts were in a bag of bits with the bike, but no instructions anywhere describing how it goes together. Also, lots of problems trying to fit the integrated bars / spacers, wobbly stem etc. The videos all skip this bit.
approx 0.5kg in weight is the main difference. The post doesn't come with carbon grip paste on. Anything else, head to our live chat where our CS team will be happy to help. www.ribblecycles.co.uk/help-centre/#contact
This bike was really easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Please follow this link that shows how to set up your new Ribble including how to fit pedals www.ribblecycles.co.uk/blog/receiving-your-new-ribble-bike/ Hope this helps
Pedals are personal preference and rarely come with high end bikes. You running clipless or flat? If clipless, what type. SPD? Road? You can buy your specific pedals (for much cheaper) right on the Ribble site when you order the bike.

Great video, it's a lot easier to assemble the bike than I thought! Now I just need my Aero 883 to arrive quick!
Great video! Just ordered my Ribble R872 Disc and can't wait to assemble it and begin riding.

Mega helpful. Cheers.
wow, you made this super easy to assemble.
very helpful video.Pedals not included ?
On a new bike pedals not usually included. Though he didn’t mention this and also said the bike was ready to ride

Have you received the bike yet?
Do you like it?
My Ti to be built in July.
So just waiting
Please do a video for unboxing and set up for the Ultra SL R
I will pass on your request to the content team. Lots more coming. J @ Ribble
Any need for carbon specific grease for the seat lost?
Yeah remember to top up your indicator fluid too. Very important sbd overlooked.
Easy set up but my gears are totally out of whack. GRX 810. Any guidance on adjustment?

Hi Lauren please DM us the order details and we will get in touch with you via email with advice on this
Very useful, thanks!
Grease and threadlock?
columbagallagher yes, need to grease the seat post and stem bolts
Do you advise using carbon assembly paste for seat post and handlebars? And should bolts be put in dry or lubricated?
Hi Stuart, we would advise carbon paste only if both bar & stem and frame & post are carbon. J @ Ribble
Could you do one about the electric flap paddle gears?
Do you have to use a torque wrench for the saddle and bars?
Yeah was thinking the same. What is the torque setting?
Quite important.. don't want them coming off!
Are the handlebars height adjustable on the AL e
They are just a one-piece bar/stem, so can only be set at one height. Is there something you are looking for? J @ Ribble

He doesn't seem to have put the pedals on ? Got a Christmas present of a Hybrid AL on the way and want to set it up ready for him
What if you ordered integrated cockpit? Does that come pre-fixed?
No, and there are no instructions included in the box.... :|

Oh wow I should be receiving my Endurance SL Disc in a week or so. I've wondering if I was gonna have to take it to the shop.
Handlebar torque setting?
It should be stated on the stem, but which bar and stem combo do you have and we can take a look for you. J @ Ribble
Didnt have a bag with bits and pieces or the pedals that I ordered either

Hey Paul! Pedals are rider choice however, our customisation tool BikeBuilder does offer a choice of pedals to add to the bike.
New Ribble SL turned up today. I may be missing something but the seat clamp won’t go down flush with the frame. Any advice?
It’s ok, sorted it 👍
