Axoni(Sema) and Dachie(Angami) both fermented soya beans but are prepared differently and taste different. Axoni is dry in texture, less pungent compared to Dachie and the hard soya beans retain their individual shape. Dachie is wet, very pungent compared to Axoni, the texture of the soya beans are very soft and can get crushed easily. Taste wise also, even though both are made from fermented soya beans but taste very different. For me personally, I prefer to use Dachie(Angami) in chutney and also in preparing naga dishes. Axoni is not very versatile compared to Dachie and can't be used in many Naga style preparations. Dachie's strong pungent smell goes away once cooked. Try dry pork curry prepared with spring onion, 2 tomatoes, 1 wood tomato and dry Naga king chilli or normal chilli if you prefer less spicy, prepare Dachie chutney(Dachie with two large garlic cloves, tomato and king chilli) and have with rice. Aaah....Heaven 😋🥲
