Hm, so the previous owner had hardware profiles that set the resolution to 1600x1200, 1280x1024, or 800x600. I imagine that LCD monitor couldn't work with 1600x1200, which is why it went blank; 1280x1024 probably would've worked, and 800x600 most definitely would have. A few other notes particularly for viewers who might not have been around for this era of machines: - The alarm is likely a "fan stopped" or "overheat" alarm; one of the fans probably got jammed or otherwise stopped running after being hit. Computers at this time physically could not turn themselves off if such a condition occurred, so the alarm was meant to alert the operator to the problem. - The thing plugged in to the parallel port is probably a security dongle. Some expensive workstation software used a hardware dongle as a form of copy protection. Online activation wasn't a thing yet, and it wasn't expected at the time for all computers at a business to have an Internet connection. - Considering the hardware dongle, the high resolution (for the time) supported by the video card, and the SCSI hard drives, I wonder if this was used for CAD (computer-aided design) originally.
I have been watching your vids since 2017, i went through multiple accounts and would still watch your content! i find the destruction satisfying somehow...
At least Robert is his own boss and he can't fire himself for trashing yet another useless PC. It seems like the clock was the only thing that worked properly in that office.
There's only so much I can do in the tiny shed. Plus, I have limited recording time before the card is full. Besides, people would get bored watching the computer get hit for 30 minutes constantly.
