    I’m sitting here, drinking my morning coffee, learning about the art of coffee roasting ☕️. What a great way to start the day 👌🏻. Thank you Kenneth. It was fascinating to see the skill and passion that goes into making a good cup of coffee. Stay safe my friend 🙏🏻😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Thanks for 🤘😁👍

      Hehe yeah it’s often like that. I always find it interesting to learn about the things I take for granted. A lot of work goes into things that we never think about 🙂

      Yep 😛 except we don’t get drunk, just very jittery 😅 ask you local coffee bar when they do a cupping next and join in. It’s a lot of fun 😛

    Fascinating.
    Coffee is science.
    If they had taught this at school I would have listened more.
    Training or apprenticeship for this must be long process.
    Because I am addicted to coffee this would suit me ideally.
    Nice one.
    Happy travels

    • @RidetheBean

      That is true! Coffee is science!
      The problem is that it is so difficult to do clinical experiments. We experiment every day, but we use mostly our senses to judge. So we re all just guessing what the right way to do things are 😅
      There isn't really any apprenticeships for coffee roasting other than just being interested. I was thrown into it. I was taught how the machine works and what button does what. Then I was set to roast for customers. I had no clue what I was doing, but I learned it all by trial and error. I just wanted to learn it so I put a lot of effort in.
      If I manage to visit you this summer I can teach you all you want to know about coffee 😝

    I purchased a small rhino gear grinder like you suggested. Also bought an AeroPress to try out. It has changed my coffee drinking experience immensely! I knew nothing about this previously. Now I will purchase some of your beans 🤙

      Cool! Glad you are enjoying it 😛 Grinding and brewing fresh is very different from the normal way of making coffee 😝
      If you want to geek out a bit I would suggest checking out James Hoffmans channel on TH-cam. He is probably the biggest coffee geek in the world and makes great videos about gear and brew tips. I really appreciate your support 😊

    Inspired by you, Kenneth, I just ordered a cheapo coffee roaster and a few pounds of green coffee beans from off the internet. My concern won't be about whether or not the air hits the beans early or late in the roasting process. I just hope it tastes good enough to drink. My adventure in riding the bean!

    • @RidetheBean
      @RidetheBean  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! That is super cool! Which roaster did you get? If you need any tips or info just send me an email and I'l answer as well as I can 😛
      The most important thing is to get an even roast so that all the beans reaches crack at the same time. As long as you manage that your coffee will taste ok. When you hear the popping sound starts your coffee is almost done. Then longer you go after this the darker the coffee will be.

    I was wondering if you do anything with the silverskins that are left over? Like burn them to warm the house or use them in other products?

    • @RidetheBean
      @RidetheBean  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have been thinking about that for a while. I some times bring it as tinder when I make a bonfire. I have been thinking of a way to press it into cubes or something so we can sell firestarters, but I haven't figured out how yet.
      But for now we just throw it out.

    what water do you use to make the coffee?

    • @RidetheBean
      @RidetheBean  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Usually just the local tap water. We are very lucky in Norway to have such good and clean tap water.
      But water bottled from natural springs tends to have more minerals in it that can help extract flavor. Don’t know of the brands near you, but here EIRA water is by far the best brew water. It is what Odd Steinar Teøllefsen used both times he won the world brewers cup.
