Damn this story hits home, been to war and back served 2003-2013 was a short time but a long time as well. Your stories brought back memories of the young and dumb me 18 years old and almost succeed in committing suicide while on my first combat tour because of a damn girl🤣💀 It did have an impact as far as settling down with someone, the lost of trust and respect in women is gone. I didn't find someone until I was 35. Let it go brother and start your life. Having kids at this age is hard when we should already be free and enjoying life. I really enjoyed listening to your story as reminds me of the story from hmong bedtime stories about the soldier that went off to fight the war but was assumed dead because he never returned and they couldnt find his body so his wife remarried. My family came to America in December of 1979, I joined the US Marine Corps after high school from 92-96, got married in December of 1997. Me and my wife started an electrical service company from 2011-present. I felt like it was only yesterday and now I am 50 and wished that i was still 25. Time doesn't wait for anyone. Stop wondering what it could have been and start living for what it is now and plan for the future.
