Electric arc furnaces have to be one of, if not the most, dystopian pieces of modern manufacturing - their violence has a certain unpredictability that is just mesmerizing.
Dystopian, and violence is exactly what I thought when I first walked in to a Melt Shop and the electrodes first arced down on the scrap inside that EAF back in 2003. 20 years later i'm still working on an EAF🙂

No it's not. Industrial furnaces can explode at eny time. But this is his work end he knows the risk. (but to be fair I have no idea for what he is standing there in that phase)
The man is trained regarding standing positions, distance, where to touch & not to touch...wear the right PPE correctly, and adhere jealously to correct SOPs.
Is there any moments when one of those 3 things that melt the metal gave out or broke down? If so is there any videos of that happening and replacing 🤔them?.
@@TecnixXnot that big of a problem as you think. It can happen quite frequently, depending on the quality of the electrodes. They have to be changed once per day anyway so if one of them brakes, you just replace them with a knew one. Can be tricky to get the pieces out of the furnace though.

This is an EAF, an Electric Arc Furnace. The big rods are carbon rods connected to a VERY heavy duty transformer. There basically is a high current short circuit (think in tens of thousands of amperes) which causes an extreme amount of heat to melt the steel in the vessel. I wonder if the octocopter is being influenced by the magnetic field caused by the current. In the steelplant where I work there are two EAFs which operate in the slag layer (not in the steel layer) of the melt. These work a bit less violent (but still very loud). If you have a pacemaker you are not allowed anywhere these machines when in operation (because of the magnetic fields)

Die HF-Aussendungen bei solch einem Ofen sind in einem niedrigerem Frequenzbereich als die Frequenzen der Coptersteuerung
Nein, die Flugrobotertechnik hat keinerlei Probleme gemacht!
