You did it, “a worthwhile 10 minute video on this topic !” There were a number of great ideas and notable common failures. Guilty here on over feeding and using the wrong schedule. I’d add on auto feeders that using them all the time deprives one of the positive interaction of feeding time. Thanks again, Jim
Great video Matthew, as always. Your comment on Blue Chromis feeding I learned from a previous video you did as well. They have been doing great for two months now! Multiple feedings a day
My tank is natural from Tampa Bay. I took the stuff that I scraped off my boat bottom and put it in the tank. It had been several years so I had lots of stuff LOL. Barnacles and oysters became my favorite pets. I caught 5 green back sardines really tiny ones with my cast net. They are now over 4 in Long. After two years in the tank going through all kinds of extremes. Including emptying the tank transporting the whole thing for hundred miles inland and resetting it up again with purchased Coral sand. I still have Barnacles that are alive and feeding today. 2 years old and the tank have only five fish. I've experimented with what Barnacles and oysters like to eat. Milk! Yes just a little cup full of milk and all the filter feeders go crazy trying to grab every bit of it all those little fat globules and sugars. I was told you can't keep Barnacles alive in a small tank
awesome video , fyi on the blue seaweed grazer the magnets blow up and bust thru the plastic if u are someone who keeps things in tank and does not dry out , could be a bad day when the magnet scratches the front glass , always inspect magnets , from experience here keep up the vids matthew ... love em
Holy cow. So different from freshwater fish - I used to just do flakes/pellets daily and sometimes blackworms weekly, much simpler. Do you think I'll need to have a small mini fridge/freezer just to store enough food for my anticipated 72-80 saltwater gallon tank?
My clown harem gets auto fed 4X2 a day then I feed eggs and frozen when I get home. Keeps them calm and not killing each other so it is well worth the extra water changes I do a week to keep the babies happy.
Have seen many of ur videos I just noticed u greeted at the beginning with "vanakkam" in Tamil ❤. Just curious to know how you got to know the Tamil language. Between luv all ur videos great job very informative 🎉
Need help, Hey Matthew, I have a 75 gal saltwater all-fish tank, But I have two hang on the back filters that cycle 500 GPH, I keep the water temp, at 78.9 and the SCh at 1.023. It's been 2 weeks now since I set it up, I'm waiting 60 days before adding any fish to the tank. I also saw one of your videos about building a quarantine tank, so I built a 10-gal tank. I made it simple, a 10-gal tank with a small hang-on-the-back filter that cycles 300 GPH, and a heater with some Pvc in the tank, My question is for the 75-gal tank would the two hang-on-the-back filters be efficient enough for the tank? Please advise.
I honestly thought this was a great video! I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was really Informative and entertaining 🙂 Try not to be so critical of yourself!
Shoot! I just got a tank from someone that overdid it and has tons of green algae for my work office tank and I’m not there everyday 😅. I was thinking I was going to feed every other day like my freshwater tank. I’m going to have to figure something out. My wife won’t let me bring another tank home . There’s 2 clownfish, coral beauty, and a yellow watchman with a pistol shrimp and a coral bandit shrimp
Great video. I think there is way too much focus on the theory of feeding and not enough practical. What’s in the tank? What is being fed? How much? How often? What’s the export controls? Everyone seems scared of the community calling them out for showing how they do it.

This was helpful. Thank you Matthew.
Thank you Matthew! Glad you brought him back 🥹 recently bought an RODI unit from BRS… couldn’t be happier, THANKS AGAIN!
I always learn something, it's why I watch these. And comment, to dive the algorithm.
And sometimes I try to share a little in return.
Thanks for the info. My tank turns one year old on Sunday. Still going fairly well.
Hell yeah!
Always good information in your videos
Vanakkam? Wow!!! U must be doing enough research to greet. Nice videos. Gj
I thought it was a fantastic video! Well done!
Awesome videos. Editing, video quality, topics are always on point. Thanks!
This whole series has been great. It answered so many of my questions. I know that my first tank is going to turn out better because of these. Thanks.
Glad you like them!

Great video! I didn't think it was disjointed at all. Glad I learned about food soaks. I'm also going to try freezing food on a coral skeleton.

The current version is MUCH better 🙂
Dude you vids help so much so you are doing amazingly
I’m getting my fish for my tank tomorrow (can’t wait)😊😊😊
Not disjointed at all. Instead, super helpful:)
Please make a video about feeding our tanks in general aka feeding corals and filter feeder etc.
Vanakkam, love from india ❤️
1:40 that seahorse is like "Great, more frozen garbage" haha
Love your videos! Thanks for all the hard work!
Yooo. That fish on fish violence at 10:40. That was no feeder fish. Lol
10:45-10:49

Great advice. You do great. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Your videos are awesome and have helped me a lot
Great video! Thanks!

Good job!
I use the omega one garlic and wet it before I feed and only one time a day.
I’m pretty bad about over feeding, it’s too fun! I believe my macro algae helps a ton
I love how you don't edit out the goofs.
Hi, can you give the brand of the cup to defrost the frozen food in the tank?
That one is from Innovative Marine. Here is a link: www.bulkreefsupply.com/auqa-gadget-gourmet-defroster-pro-innovative-marine.html
This was a good video, I learned how to keep Chromis alive.
Good job
Wow, Very Nice tks

I didnt know chromis had to be fed several times a day either. I only feed once a day and my one chromis seems fine😢
It’s usually the schooling, open high flow water fish that burn more calories swimming all day
Yeah I feed once a day because it's easier. Shame on me.
Where can I find some of these
idk i loved this video
Tiniest Little Blue Claw crab we'll clean up your tank. Since people use them for bait it's probably okay to take one home from the beach
Vannakkam matthew.
Hey where were you miss the videos

What cha gonna put in the tank to the left? I seen it’s been empty for a while? 😅
For the coral skeleton feeding method, will that train the fish to think that coral is food and would go after coral polyps?
It does depend on the species. Some fish should really be kept in a fish only environment or with corals that aren't a part of their natural diet.
Why can’t I find a yellow tang to purchase?
Shoot! I just got a tank from someone that overdid it and has tons of green algae for my work office tank and I’m not there everyday 😅. Breed live is best
How do you feed multiple times per day and still have a life if you can't use an auto feeder?
I'm probably overfeeding..
