15:02 Alex's Mob snapping turtles do not have moss upon spawning in, it grows over time. The player can shear the moss off for a rare chance to get a snapping turtle scute.
If the hyenas are attacking through a corner add some blocks you can’t phase through with an enter pearl

There’s a mod called Koopa’s Critters which adds a lot of small animals to the game and I’d recommend it since it was made by the same developer as the Natural Decor mod.

The next zoo you do should be a city zoo, make it look like the Manhattan city zoo with bricks and concrete, and maybe you could even make it look old style with iron bars and cages!

This is such a beautiful and amazing zoo, it was wonderful to see. I had a zoo a long time ago that I really loved, worked on it for years and after switching to a better PC something happened and I lost it. This has totally inspired me to create a new zoo/wildlife center in a newer version of MC.

To solve your hyena problem try making the wall 2 or 3 blocks thick so they don't aggro ,the creator didn't fix there range so well

You can name banners with an anvil e.g. gorilla and then right click with a map and it will show on the map as a kind of waypoint

there is a mod called (Monke Madness) that adds several monkeys would serve as decorations for some areas

I might be late but, there is a mod that adds some cool aquatic creatures called "Odd Water Mobs", it adds things like Angler fish and Spider crabs

Also for the mobs despawning, I have a trick that can help! You could rename the spawn egg in an anvil to that animal's name. So for example if you're spawning in a hyena with a spawn egg, you could use an anvil to rename the spawn egg, then the mob will spawn with that name making it not despawn anymore. Hope that helps! (Dang I wrote soooooo much)

Yeah, haven't updated it to a newer version, so some mods may be incompatible in 1.18 since I think around half moved over to fabric while the rest stayed on forge.

The reason the lions died and the elephants stay in that corner of there exhibit is because they kill each other. Like the hyenas they can bite through a wall
