    How does the stock’s P/E ratio compare to its historical levels AND industry benchmarks. For example, if technology stocks typically trade at an average P/E multiple of 20x, but the stock in question has a higher P/E than its historical average yet trades significantly below the industry standard (e.g., at a 5x P/E), this disparity could indicate a competitive disadvantage.

    Great video as always Jake!
    I've been investing for a few years now, and recently started dipping my toes into options. I bought calls recently that are expiring in a few weeks. Is it generally best to sell the calls when the stock price is running up, or exercise the options and sell the stock right after?

    You started trading in beginning of 2020. Anyone including me could make money. I doubled my money starting in March 2020. I started investing March 2020. If I would have put all my money in the biggest winner and could have made so much more. NVAX 348%, NVDA 122%, CVNA 241%, PLL 119%, PLON 168%, SOXL 138%, YETI 180% these are my highest returns and many more. I had no previous experience. It was pure luck. It was a learning experience. They are long positions. I want to learn call and puts but definitely scarly to me. I have 183k in my acct. so I can do margin.

    Hey Jake! Can't tell you how much I appreciate your work on Y.T.. You have helped me out a lot. I have a burning question that relates to selling put options and when to "sell to close"
    Today I had 4 contracts with QQQ with a strike price of 367.50. This morning the stock fell a lot and I "sold to close" all four of my contracts right before QQQ dropped below my strike price. My account showed I was way up. I had a cost basis at 1.71 and I sold at 2.74. I still had until Friday before the contract expired and it was a week long 7 day contract. Instead of making the initial premium of 684.00, I sold and I "think" I made 1093.00 instead.
    Was this wise? Could I have done something else? Eventually the stock did drop below my strike price right after I "sold to close" my position.
    Thank you so much in advance Jake!

    It's amazing to meet someone who also trade options and stocks in the stock market! I'd love to connect with you and learn more about your experience in the process of joining the military and trading options. I'm also interesting in joining the military after college this year and I'm trading stocks (options too). I have no previous experience in military.

    Hi Jake. Great video like always. Few questions. Do you always go for 4 months out? Do you ever exercise the option? If not, when do you generally sell to close?

    • @JakeBroe
      @JakeBroe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like contracts that are 4-6 months out because you don't lose as much value to theta decay and you don't pay as much for extrinsic value. I also never exercise contracts I buy. I always sell to close them for a profit. Weird things can happen after hours when contracts start getting exercised and I'll let the brokerage firms settle all that. I don't want something glitching out and then my account is down $30,000 because of an error in stock moving around.

    How long do you hold your stock on options?

    • @JakeBroe
      @JakeBroe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey FC! I buy to open my calls 4-6 months out and want to sell to close them 1-2 months before they expire. If I am selling calls or puts, then I sell something 2 weeks to a month out from expiration and sell it once I have 75% of the value.

    Hey Jake, do you use a separate tracking website or software to keep up with the call dates on all of the options, or is there a way to set reminders on Scwhab's site? I am getting nervous about having too many and something falling through the cracks (ie. me forgetting that one is coming due within 30-60 days, and missing an opportunity to cash out like it seems like you have been doing. Thanks!

      Hey Ben! Not that I know about. I am sure some kind of service exists. I only have 14 positions, so I feel like that is easy to check and track.

    I'm learning some good stuff, Jake. Love your transparency too. BTW, you mentioned there were only about 100 stocks you'd consider. Did you screen the entire S&P 500 one at a time or did you se a screener to find those key 100 stocks?

    Absolutely agree with you, try, fail, make your analysis why you failed, make the necessary changes and try again, i was just losing and losing money with spreads but i found out why i was losing money and I made mi corrections, now I'm winning way more, last week I won the 4 positions I had i don't trade more than 5 positions, and I like time decay gains so that's why i love spreads so much but they are riskier than a regular call n put.

      For sure! Everyone has to weigh the risks and rewards. But you can't stop learning! The only constant about the market is change.
