how do you feel about Gyarados after this day so far from 1-10?
Ig jungle gyarados might be a setback for the whole team
Like a 6.5 or 7
Its almost perfectly balanced (it might need some buffs) not overpowered but not underwhelming as well
6/10 I feel like they need to re work Aqua Tail because it just does not have any synergy with Waterfall and Bounce. It should have healing like Azumaril, but I guess they didn't want to copy paste it... Idk
fun fact: both dragonbreath and bounce in the main series games do have a chance to paralyze an enemy. so i think it makes sense that dragonbreath into bounce would paralyze. it's odd but just thought i'd share lol
9. I’m only 2 games in but rapid scarf, drain crown, and muscle band with this move set is a ton of fun to me
I don't really care about waterfall vs bounce but I really hope they buff aqua tail to be the better move bc gyarados being just another auto attacker is so lame and such a waste of potential
Dragonite has better Gyarados moveset.
I think melee auto attacks should be strong though like stay away from me or catch these hits lol. Ranged attacks should be weaker because it's harder to get to them.
@@gp8383 Well the ranged attackers have less bulk so they take more dmg from everything anyway.
Been using this build and it's genuinely very good. Breath/Bounce do great damage, stun, and boost basic attack speed. The only buff I think Gyarados could use is just a reduction on Magikarp's cooldown for Flail. Obviously the devs could buff Tail/Waterfall, but Breath/Bounce is so good, It's really not necessary.
Nah huge disagree with that. Tail defs needs a buff. Limiting a Pokémons builds by keeping some moves incredibly weak is just a terrible idea and bad game design.
Gyarados is going to be very inconsistent in solo q because its evo relies on your teammates. An early evo, and it carries the game, a late one, and it's almost deadweight.
Oh yeah, totally. What I have been getting on my games today is that whomever helps you in lane leaves you when you don't help killing.
Like I had both defenders and all rounders and I was doing fine, I stack a little, helped on defence as much as I could do as a useless Magicarp and such but when we got ganked and died, my lane partner just left me and went to bot or top (opposite where I was) and left me to my luck.
People really think you are griefing or something and abandon you before becoming Gyarados and that makes it extremely hard in solo q
@gwagner1380 I do think it will improve over time, however, especially once it's released for coins. It's a knowledge thing where the player base doesn't fully understand how bad magikarp is because they haven't played it. The problem I keep having is teammates taking every last hit from me.
really glad he has strong options while not being broken. as a chracter Gyarados is really clunky for my liking but as a release im really happy for him.
Been loving with build with crit emblems and a slow smoke- helps with early game assists as well

I'm glad there's at least 1 combo between the kits lol It's super weird to not include it in the move descriptions tho
This build litterly feels like meowscarada night slash and trailblaze but even worse, because night slash increases the crit rate and also heals apart of doing damage
Plus those basic attack animation is so underwhelming, Like why dragonite being a allrounder can have ranged basic attacks and Gyarados doesn't

Dragonite is mainly a physical attacker, so is dragonite but ig hyperbeam stuff? Idk.

Basic attack animations could totally be better, swinging more of his body instead of just tilting his head for the two headbutts and lunging forward a bit more for the bite
I made a reddit post about this within a hour of it releasing. This combo is awesome and im glad you saw it. It just works better.
I'm loving Gyarados. He may have saved the game for me. I haven't played in several months, but my unite friends hit me up about Gyarados on his release date, and being an old head, I had to pick the game back up just to try out one of my old favorite mons. I'm usually just a casual player who relies on my tryhard unite friends for steady carries, but Gyarados is too much fun. Definitely bout to start putting more time into this game now.
I think gyarados can be good when used properly, but I'm really afraid of randoms using it in ranked and staying magikarp till 5 minutes and throwing the game lol
Apparently even good players are being stuck as a magikarp for 5 minutes quite often. So seeing this thing on randos is definitely scary. Tho I can see people not using it as often because it's not broken like the mewtwos, yet it's popularity surpasses most mons in the game so it would still get a lot of play.
@@lloydterthe thing is that you can evolve before 7 if you get a kill. That's a big spike in power at lvl 5 and from there you can snowball really hard as Gyarados but most of the time, your lane partner will leave you alone if you die or don't help with killing/ganking because people think you are griefing so Effort Bar will fill up before lvl 7 at best, if not you will need lvl 7 for the Evo and that can come really late as a useless Magicarp.
If you team helps you, then Gyarados can do a lot early and mid game but if not and you are left alone because again people thing you are throwing or griefing by doing next to nothing (which is like the usual for Magicarp) then the game is as good as lost, specially if people farmed you like crazy because no one tried to help ya

Hope they rework his basics into beinf ranged. And make Aqua Tail better so he's not just anothr auto-attack based 'mon. It feels like a lot of the recent releases have been auto-attack heavy

My only issue with dragon breath is it's not named hyper beam which is a much more iconic move for Gyarados.
Yup, they should just make a patch changing the name and the colour and it would be much cooler
@@thebabbons1554 bc Hyper beam is kinda a "ultimate move" so he wouldn't able to spam it easily like Dragon breath tbh. Dragonite must charge it with Dragon dance for reference
It doesn't look dramatic enough to be Hyper Beam. I'd rather the Unite Move had two variations: [Hyper Beam] activated while stationary as a big charged beam, and the real one that activates while moving.
I like how they kept it different since dragonite has it and it’s also iconic on dragonite. Especially when lance’s evaporated a dude 💀
It has great moves but it needs life steal or movement. It looks like he stands and dies 😢

Okay, I resend my complaints about dragon breath sucking from a conceptual point. The only problem is waterfall/aqua tail now. Still awkward animations, but definitely not the embarrassment that is aqua tail

You can see electricity bouncing off targets for awhile after landing dragon breath so that's probably your window for the stun.
I like to think the combo pays homage to both moves' decent chance to stun in the original games

Bro I had bought gyarados recently but I was not able to play from bounce smoothly there are lots of enemies gathered in front of me and if there are all rounders and attackers then it becomes too hard to control.please tell how to use it perfectly and how can I use zacian perfectly ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😢

@@abra_escaped I was mostly referring to safeguard but I don't know whether or not helping hand would interact with gyrados' kit, hence my curiosity. I'd probably still take it over egg bomb if I was doing safeguard
Yeah this is the winning combo. Feels like Meowscarada but more threatening. I got 2 pentas in master on a game a few minutes ago.
I am doing double stacking with cookie and weight so I can last longer with claw for slow. When the beam hits and your attack speed rises sky high, squishies get deleted and the attack speed is rather high that with a fully stack weight you can destroy shields in seconds. Like no joke, in the game I mentioned I was deleting crustle shields like crazy heck with the Unite Move I got a my second penta and Ray for my team.
Enemies were Meowscarada, Machamp, Crustle, Mamoswine and Espeon which is a rather balanced team, this is the best combination possible and if you can evolve at 5 due to effort meter, you can destroy in lane but you need good team mates that protect you from being an easy prey.
None of the other moves synergies just as well which is a shame
I like this build but I don't think the magikarp early game is worth it. I prefer use other Pokemon, I don't want to have a bad early game an evolve late and throw the game... it can happen too if the enemy focus on bully you as magikarp...
I mean it's fun and all, and I'm far from disliking it, but i feel like Gyarados (as the creature and character) could've been more well represented. Hyper Beam and Thrash feel like much more iconic moves for Gyarados (at least for me). I get Dragon Breath, and I guess they've been trying to associate it more with Waterfall (due to it's lore and all, just look at its Kitakami pokédex). But Aqua Tail? Such a flop honestly. I wish it moved and attacked more serpentine-like
the point is I don't often get the luxury of having a exp share defender in my team like pro players....last time I had someone with exp share, he was using it on Talon....you can understand how pathetic players we need to carry

At this point, it feels like all the new Pokémon in Unite are highly overpowered. When I say that, I mean that people are going to find great builds and move sets for a new Pokémon in Unite and whenever you see that Pokémon on that team, you are just going to moan and groan thinking that whoever has that new Pokémon has an op build that will wreck your team.
Literally the last two pokemon to release were underpowered initially and needed buffs. Now they're both in a good spot but not really broken
@@abra_escaped Metagross is already overpowered, and Meowscarada is still going through the process of testing out movesets and builds

Its fairly balanced but magikarp is just so bad. I know its supposed to be that way but please atleast make it evolve faster. There was one game in which it literally took me 4 mins to just evolve.

they skipped non-evolved forms of some powerful mons like pikachu, snorlax etc but they won't skip this worthless fish....they should have given us Garados from the start
