@SYLVIA Happyhobby CROCHETING I started off using that yarn but didn't have money to buy more so I found 4 skeins I had no idea what to do with and they worked up perfectly with just a few yards left over !
Thank you so much Sylvia for sharing this wonderful poncho with us and THANK YOU again for your wonderful and detailed presentation and instructions!❤❤❤!
Thank you for your pattern and video. It caught my eye because it was so beautiful. At first, I was afraid to try, I thought it would be too difficult, but I have completed the 4 squares and now in the process of assembly. I learned so much and it was not difficult at I. Can't wait to finish!!!!
Hello, I just found this pattern today and I am inspired to make it. I really loved the way it turned out. This would make a wonderful gift for someone. Thank you
hi Cindy. you can leave some of the Jacob’s ladder rounds out. if your neckline is too big, you could add another round of dc, and dc together at the corners so the edges don’t get wavy. and you probably already know the trick trying the pattern with a smaller hook and yarn size. I hope this helps in some way 🥰🥰🥰
Hi @dawnroger5324. The poncho I’m making in the video is an X/XL, depending how tight your crochet. But you can always add more rounds to make it larger. if you crochet the border until your poncho measures 25 inches from base of neck to hem then you have an X/XL.
This might be a silly question. Do you unroll the yarn and the color separate? Or share a simple way to separate the colors in the whole cake. Thank you I’m a newby to this experience of work
I will understand if the owner of this channel deletes my comment as I'm going to mention another channel. It's one continuous strand of yarn and one color blends into the next. There is something called color control though... Bag-O-Day Crochet YT channel has one or more video tutorials on color control or at least she used to. It's a big channel though so if you're still interested in learning about it use the words "color control" along with her channel name to the videos. She does one where she controls as she is working on project and another where she dissects a cake of yarn to put colors in a different order.
@@IDontSuckAtLifeakaJanis3975 thank you, I ended up unrolling the cake and making separate balls. Truthfully I didn’t like doing that. Thanks for your reply…
hi Pamela. very sorry for the delayed response. I usually just take the part out that I need, so I don’t have to cut all my yarn up. but I definitely explain it better the next time I’ll use this technique. happy crocheting 🥰
hi. bc of the yarn i used, i only got to crochet 16 rows if i did 17 it would be too big for the measurements you put in your video. is there a way i can change the pattern of the border after i stitch the 4 squares so that i can do it with 48 dc?
hi. So mine were 52 - you like 48. If you just need a smaller neckline (and I think you have to make just one more round around the square, right?) make the 52 dc like I did, and then you could make double crochet instead of single crocheted around the neckline to make it smaller (easy fix). 🥰🥰🥰 The way more difficult thing to do is to recalculate the spacing (8dc, skip2) and I also have a 4 rnd repeat. It took me quite a while 🥱 to figure out. I painstakingly counted and calculated the pattern - 106 (52x3) + seem spaces into 8dc + 2 spaces, until it was right.
@@SYLVIAHappyhobbyCROCHETING123 yes i did the math based on your pattern and figure out where to do the 8chains so thanks. i haven't got to the neckline but it's really great that you put the time to answer the questions in the comments again thank you so much^^ this is actually my second crochet project(first one being a simple scarf)i hope it turns out half as good as yours did

hi Donna. thank you very much. you can add more Jacob’s ladder rounds to the Poncho 🥰
This is beautiful, you do amazing things, if i make the square smaller, would that work for a small size

Where do I find part 1?
How many colors did you use? I loved it!
Yes, i was wondering the same thing. Especially if we don’t use the same yarn you do.
