A lot of metal bands are categorized incorrectly, and totally reject the "goth" tag, the best known example being Nightwish which is infact symphonic power metal. And there are some bands labelled gothic metal which do fit the description aptly, with the right sound, attitude etc. Some examples of songs: Tristania - Angellore, Theatre of Tragedy - Lorelei, Theatres des Vampires - Solitude.
