I played solo gigs with one for years-ran it through a Fender Vibroverb reissue. Got a heaven sound.

I had an AR805CE for several years. Just wish I could have kept it, but when Jill and I went on the road full time in our travel trailer, I had to make choices, and unfortunately, had to sell the 805.
I found it to be a totally professional grade instrument and a pleasure to play, and would highly recommend the AR805CE to anyone who wants an archtop guitar, no matter what level!!

that is a beautiful rendition of yesterday's! It's a genius the way to put that solo piece together are those substitutions and version this is so beautiful I wish I could know how to do that my version pales in comparison.

I know it is less expensive than a Heritage Golden Eagle but to my ear, Eastmans seem to have a superior acoustic quality. It'd be interesting to hear them side by side. Nice playing.

Mine came with both volume and tone wheels under the pick guard .

Question Rich, I have a gibson es 137 custom. It's like a thinner es 175 but neck pickup at end of neck. If you look at the frets they look like crossties on the fretboard. High and square. Thinking of getting it dressed, but I have a light set of strings on it. The issue is it's easy to pull it sharp when playing. I don't bend much so that's not what I want. If I put on heavier strings do you think that would be a cheap fix? The strings on it have a solid 3rd and most everything else have a wound 3rd. I think I'll try a set with a .012 high E. 10:00

Thanks Rich! I've been playing an AR580 for the past 5 years or so and absolutely love it. There is an 805 up for sale here locally. What, if any, advantages would there be from the 580 to the 805? Thanks in advance. And thanks for all the awesome videos. Love watching you play.

Haven't played in many years. Too busy with other parts of life but thinking about guitar again as I move toward retirement and the AR805CE might be what I'm looking at for myself and to hand down to my grandkids if they're interested. Hopefully I can find a good price.

I now have TI 11’s jazz flat wounds on it. After I bought it new I put on Thomastic Infeld flats. My next strings were round wounds and I thought it was too bright, and went back to the flats. Rich, west us your opinion of flat wound strings?

Sounds even better the L5 or Super 400 Gibsons you had on in other videos.

    A little history
It all started in 1992. A young musician named Qian Ni visited the United States to study violin making. Back then, the Chinese used the factory line way to manufacture musical instruments. Ni thought of a different way to build violins, so he implemented a handcrafting method similar to 19th-century European violin workshops.
His idea birthed the Eastman Strings Company. He then established workshops to further his goal. The company’s initial objective was to replicate hand-crafted violins from the west.
However, he needed professionals to bring his idea to fruition. So with time, he brought in experienced violin builders, and Eastman soon became well known in the music market.
Eastman became so successful that it needed to expand. They started making instrument cases and bows. After realizing the potential in the guitar market, Ni started making guitars, and that’s how Eastman Guitars was born.
The company started making archtop hollow-body electric guitars but didn’t stop there. Soon after, they began making regular solid-body electric guitars and acoustic guitars. They aimed to replicate what famous companies were doing at a lower cost. And although they’re not as big as some popular guitar manufacturers, they don’t fail to produce high-quality guitars.
    Eastman Acoustic Guitars
The Eastman company manufactures all the shapes and sizes you could ever need as far as acoustic guitars go. Their inventory includes models in the jumbo, orchestra, parlor, dreadnaught, and grand auditorium categories.
Their high-quality guitars have a unique design, and because each guitar is hand-crafted, they feel and sound amazing. The seasoned woods used to produce the guitars give them a distinctive character, resonance, and tone.
    Eastman Electric Guitars
Eastman electric guitars have a vintage look and feel. Their solid-body guitars look and sound like Gibson Les Paul Models, although with slight differences.
Eastman - More Than Just Guitars
Apart from guitars, Eastman makes different types of mandolins and ukuleles. Both A and F style mandolins are present in their inventory. They’re a much bigger entity called Eastman Music Company that manufactures string and wind instruments.

Hey Kenneth! Thanks for the comments and questions, man! I always use flatwounds on all my jazz guitars. I have developed a custom gauge string set that I sell for a great price! You can order them here: www.guitarcollege.net/strings.html -- Here is the video I did about about them, which explains exactly what they are and why they work so much better than any other set you can buy right now.
