It was perfect - it was all just right and so deserved. She showed the world what leadership looks like - she is going to be missed for many many years to come. Hard act to follow if not truly impossible.

I'm not really sure what place kings and queens have in the modern world today, but Queen Elizabeth ll made her position have purpose and I greatly admire her for that!
As long as billions still believe in outdated archaic nonsense like a god, then anything has its place today.
They have a place in a parliamentary system of governance, since if you replaced royalty with a president you would get a person who wouldn't stay neutral even though his position mandates it.
I get that you like her, but what purpose did she serve? All presidents and prime ministers have had more impact than her for whatever time they served.
Well she has been a Monarch since The Great War, aka World War I. No other person, ever, has been part of so much world history than QEII.

She become Queen five years ahead of my birth and so all my life i have known her as Queen of United Kingdom even if i am in the Far East.
It is as if i lost a part of me, that knowledge that she was a Queen over there since my infantcy, and more because my mother have descended of traveller from far away Europe. Rest in Everlasting Peace my Queen Elizabeth II.

Since Elizabeth II died, there has been much publicity, not so much thought about why she matters, and why monarchy is helpful in general. Monarchy shouldn't be used as real-life soap opera, nor as mere material to fill space in the media.

In the UK, 'peace' in formal speech is "The King's Peace".
Of course Prince Andrew must disappear from public life; King Charles III's first marriage was a tragic mistake; Prince Philip could be tactless. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the unity the monarchy gives in the UK & the world. The sea around it didn't protect the U.S.A. against civil war in the 1860s, and the UK could have suffered civil war over slavery in the 19th century; likewise over world war, loss of empire, economic failure, or race in the 20th. There will always be violence and political problems in the world, and billions of people who know or understand nothing of the British monarchy and the stability it brings Britain and the commonwealth (e.g. Canada & Australia). By stabilizing Britain & the commonwealth, it promotes peace in the world. Since the 1700s, billions of people have lived under the British crown without civil war, lynching, dictatorship in their lives. God save King Charles III, and his successors.

They had to give up their honorary appointments. If you are former members of the Royal services, you can only wear your seevice uniforms if you are part of the color guard or active duty. Same in the US.
