He never stops learning and training vocalisation even after he has become one of the best of the best vocalist in Kpop. I’d give credit to his hard work and natural talents and gifts.

This performance was just perfection! The boys just KILLED this performance. On a technical level: their dancing was sharp, vocals were meshing well, and their stage presence was insane! But also, kudos to the Kimmel stage and production crew! The sound system and microphones were properly adjusted for the best sound quality and the camera crew did an amazing job selecting shots that kept view of the guys. Awesome work!
RIGHT?? I'm so happy our US shows are learning how to handle them on a technical level. Way to go, Kimmel - you did good showcasing Kings of talent.

These young men and their performance have matured remarkably since their debut last October. They were so incredible then... but now... you can see how their comfort level with each other and individual confidence has merged into a more than powerful group dynamic. They truly are super-performers. I know I saw them in November, but now I want to see them again!
I saw them this past Sunday, and yes, their group dynamic is literally out of this world and individual performances on point. It was hit after hit and by the time they were about to sing Jopping I didn't have voice left to follow along lmao. I haven't felt this way for a group in a very long time tbh
I'd like to add too that the concert was completely live, I could hear clearly their breathing and slight changes in the songs

I saw them twice, first at their debut and in November and this is the best they've ever looked and sounded. you can tell the amount of time, practice, and bonding it took to get to be able to perform like this. the fact that they're no longer nervous and are comfortable as a group makes me so excited to see what's in store for them
True, Taeyong lines at the start have more sassiness than ever, something You don't hear in the firsts live presentations and, after all this time, Baek's high note holds an impresiveness like if the first time hearing it.

the fact that they still sound like the actual song even tho they’re dancing and singing live might i add is just mind boggling. in these types of shows, you can’t really lip-sync, so it’s just amazing how superm did that. and everyone with the respective group ls and the superm one🥺 that made me really happy

I think they are singing but also have a much louder recorded track playing over it too hence why it sounds crazy good but you can also hear the breathing and pops
I think they recorded the live version before the show (Kpop artist often do that). It's sound so perfect. So yeah it's lipsync

5, Wavy, NCT, EXO, Super M and Shinee ( apparently the Bluetooth feature blocked them from lighting up, poor Showals).

Some lightsticks have a Bluetooth feature that connects the lightsticks with the music at the concerts/fan meets and they light up in connection to the song being played. I know the Super Junior lightstick has that feature too. Seventeen's lightsticks do too. But in the video you can see a couple of the Shinee lightsticks that are not lit, and yes they have Bluetooth feature and I'm not sure if you can turn it off or not.

I respect your opinions, guys.. I've watched many Jopping live performances, but this one's my favorite. ☺
I have headphones on. You can literally hear their mouths on p and b sounds. You can hear their breathing and when their breath is being forced out during moves. You can hear the mics shaking when they move. And those mentioning Kai's mic being so far away- It's always like that. He doesn't like his mic in his face because he gives a lot of looks and he likes his voice slightly muted. His voice is just fainter than the others because his mic is maybe 1 1/2 inches from his mouth. You'd know that if you paid attention to the volume in each vocal. Baekie's is louder because it's closer. Yes, they have backing vocals (everyone does because it sounds empty without). This is the first time I've been able to hear Lucas' ad libs clearly.
agreed. in the past i don't think their vocals were as clear (particularly their debut performance) so i always worry when i come to live performances but i'm very happy with the live performance here. can clearly hear them. so proud of my weishenv boys and everyone did great.

@@woo23ey from the perspective of someone whose not familiar with most of the live vocals in this group (i'm a fan of wayv), i was also a bit skeptical when i first heard their live debut. i was like...really? this is live? no way. or you could say i was at least disappointed because i couldn't hear them over the music. but i can definitely hear...i don't want to say flaws but...i can hear the difference between this and the studio version. and i am happy for it. baekhyun especially is a great vocalist.

3:01 Taemin is the music. Every beat, snap, rise, and fall :) His performances are always magic. Can't turn away. He said in an interview before that he's interested in how each person will do the same movements but it will look different for so many different personal reasons and it's so beautiful when he even talks about it. Like how he said seeing Ten dance, draw, or even make food and eat is like art. Lovely.
@Harmon McCraw it was the interview with Stacy Nam for iHeart radio I think, after Want came out. I saw them live also and my eyes were always on Taemin and Ten. I love them both and I'm so glad they see that artistic beauty in each other too. I'm glad Ten got to tell the audience he choreographed his solo dances also.

I've listened to the studio version of Jopping hundreds of times at this point and have watched every Jopping performance under the sun, including actually seeing them live twice. when I tell you that this was the best performance they have ever done of this song I seriously mean that it blew every other performance away

True, with headphones you can listen very well to their voices and even breathing, they are amaziing
Except it's incredibly obvious that they were using prerecorded vocals. It's not necessarily a bad thing, there are lots of reasons artists don't sing live, like issues with sound equipment or playback. Besides that, it's just impossible for them to sound that stable while performing such intense choreography. I've done a lot of musical theatre in my time, and I'm sorry but it just doesn't work like that.

Heather Marie Actually there’s a fan on twitter who knows someone who works backstage, and they said half are prerecorded and the other half is live. So their highnotes are done live, along with the small adlibs, the rest is prerecorded so you’re partially correct

its called pre-recorded live vocals, made specifically to sound like its them live. Thats why theyre not 100% perfect and you hear some breathing and other mic sounds.
But you can also see the veins in Baek's neck when he sings...especially in the high note

Hmm, unless they’re obviously lipsyncing (lips don’t match the audio), it’s hard to tell when groups lipsync these days. It’s easy to tell when they’re using auto tune tho.

@@justazy597 They are lip-syncing somewhat though - not fully, esp not Baekhyun (and in parts Taemin) because you can hear the differences between the track and some of his live notes. But for the most part the backing track is louder than their live voices *as it has been for, like, every performance of Jopping.* And *understandably* because Jopping is a ridiculously energetic song and if it was all *just* live vocals, it would sound awful no matter how good the singer singing it because they'd be mostly out of breath.
It's literally the same as any k-pop music show where they mix the vocals and backing track in different percentages based on the song, individual members' skill levels, etc. And that's ok! It doesn't de-legitimize them or make them not talented or skilled! It means, in this case, they're preserving their voices for a song where they'll be able to focus on singing and where the singing is the point. Like Dangerous Woman.
And it's a good thing they lip-synced for Jopping since they did Dangerous Woman live. Even on DW (which was good) you can tell their voices are tired from the concert circuit. Not bad, not unskilled, but tired - like any other artist would be in their position. If they'd done Jopping fully live too it would've been too much strain.
Sure there are people that might use "lip-syncing" as an insult, but not acknowledging when they *are* lip-syncing ends up just as bad.

박지훈 something is wrong with your ears if you don’t think they sing any of it live . They sing over a backing track it’s louder in the chorus . It doesn’t sound like the studio version at all lmao. You can clearly hear their breathing especially towards the end When taemin is singing and the popping sound of the p against the mic. The backing track also contains two adlibs whcuh baekhyun didn’t sing as he was preparing for his LIVE High note. His neck veins popped which is physically impossible if your vocal chords aren’t in use. Really seems like people don’t understand what a backing track is . A backing track is used to support the vocals and during the Chorus is where its used the loudest as they are heavy dancing. You can clearly hear the difference between backing vocals and the raw vocals.

But Taemin 90% of the time sings live (just listen 3:01 you will be able to hear his breath against the microphone clearly), and he's able to do it because he's one of the most stable singers in the business, his belt and breath control are no joke, besides, he's not risky; he will not show-off outside his comfortable range.
Baekhyun is a similar case, even when you will not be able to easily hear his breath, it is noticeable in the pronunciation of the letter P (as in 1:29)

I noticed that too, And what some people dont realize is that its really hard for ANYONE, no matter how long they've been in the industry, to sound stable singing doing this type of choreography; lots of jumping and twisting and transitions. In reality if it was completely live, you'd hear them grunting, loud heavy breathing through their parts, etc because this song is literally nonstop movement. But we all know that they recorded it live for the backtrack, so we know they can actually sing it.

Yes. They have no idea what the boys have gone through in order to be stable in singing while dancing. They also run back in forth in a stair while singing did treadmill singing. Holding their breath while submerged in water for seconds to minutes just to prolong their breath and use this to sustain their singing ..other technique i really cant explain coz its way too drastic for my liking.
