    I remember visiting the TT with my dad in 1993 when the Travelling Marshalls were riding Honda VFR750 bikes. My dad was so impressed by seeing the TM’s belting around the TT course he promptly swapped his FJ1200 for a red VFR750 when we got home.

      Sounds like a wise choice. Honda are so generous to us, can't thank them enough

    I will NEVER EVER forget the 1st time I marshaled the TT 2000. I was taken up to a location by the CSM and told to look down the track..... The first time I ever saw DJ will remain with me until my days are done. I`m back this year again , although not marshalling , so stay safe ALL have a great TT

    Total respect to you and all other Marshalls. I did it myself one year at Rhencullen 2 & spent most of my time there with my fingers crossed that nothing would happen. Thankfully it worked. Until I read the book on TMs I always envied you being able to ride on closed roads but I soon learnt the was a bad side to that so as I have said total respect because it can be a tough job.

    Great video, thanks!
    I can imagine how it would feel after a few rounds on the TT track at high speed wearing that gear with only a small screen. I ride a naked bike, KTM Super Duke R 1290 and live in Germany, I tried to keep at top speed for roughly 30 minutes with my Rukka cordura suit on the Autobahn. My neck and arms did hurt for a couple of days, all muscles sore just from trying not to be blown off the bike 😂

    Stupid question time, so the TMs have any signals they use when on the course, either for other marshals or to competitors? Ie: foot of the peg to let a competitor pass safely.... Interested to know as a tarmac short oval Marshal in Scotland.

    • @tttravellingmarshals7207
      @tttravellingmarshals7207  ปีที่แล้ว

      No signals no, riders know we may be on track with them and to pass us the same way they'd pass any other rider, sometimes we'll pass them at the MGP. Track side marshals know we're circulating from radio comms from Race Control.

    I have huge respect for TT competitors and I can understand the need for Medics to get to an incident quickly but Marshals? I don’t know how many there are but having to get to a road closure or whatever at 150mph is a bit of a wank. What if one of the Marshals bins it? That’s double the problems. I’d say if they were fairly evenly spaced around the course those kinds of risks could be eliminated.

  • @Richard-ws1hm

    That was a great insight. Interesting

    I’ve always thought the marshals leathers should have the high visibility colours on the top half rather than have to wear a jacket over the suit.
