And so I think the differences are visible immediately, after I turned on Jill and Barry, I can say that on the Sega Saturn, the bodies look harmonious, unlike the PS1 and PS5, because on them I see as if every part of the body is attached and can separate, while On Saturn, the hand has one texture, but on PS it's not like it's separated! I mean, how did the limbs separate in GTA, but here? The colors are nicer, or rather, the contrast is better on the PS5, the texture quality is higher, which is very pleasing to the eye. The color scheme on Saturn seems to be more saturated, this is noticeable in Jill's clothes. On Saturn, the blood looks creepy, but it feels like it's immediately baked. 1:52 Decide for yourself, I can only say one thing, it looks better on PS1) on PS5 there is a strange angularity, on Saturn Jill seems to have lost the contours of her face, and she has plumped on her face. 2:27 it's creepy on PS5 and Saturn! 3:17 there is even more blood on Richard's body, on Saturn, which prevented do the same to them, but I think looking at the PS5, you can see bites and wounds that are not shown on Saturn instead, everything is covered in blood. Im viewing this on a 4k OLED HDR panel but I played this game recently on real hardware + CRT and no matter how good newer displays are they never look as sharp in older games as a CRT. IRL on a CRT the game looks better than all these 3 videos.
At this point “I don’t care”. Every “retro” shot in these comparison videos is an emulator. And the PS5 versions from now till the end are “Sony official PS1/2/portable emulator”. So the PS5 version holds as much value as the PS1 since it’s AN EMULATOR OF THE SAME FILE (the original ps1 game). If anything I’ll laugh at how there is a market here that is mostly forgotten. Out of the 3 versions here, the PS5 is the only “legal” way to play the game in the modern market… which is cool because most old games ARENT AVAILABLE (like RE2 OG’s last seen on PS3 and now some Pc version port that isn’t Steam). So to end the comment. ACCEPTANCE. Old games are somewhat lost to times cause hardware evolved. Tricks made to appease the old TVs are now lost to time and we can now enjoy all 5 polygons used for the PS1’s 3D infancy.

Even if old consoles somehow had recording software like the PS4 onwards. We wouldn’t win because of TH-cam’s own formatting of images. So again. Thanks for clarifying this is not an emulation. But viewers should remember that 1998 was a 240p era and not the 4k upscaled of today that will be 8k and whatever else in the near future. Like all the HD collection re-releases we would play back in the day 🤣
