My grandad grew up on a tobacco farm with my great grandad in Reidsville NC
I am Montagnard jarai indigenous live in North Carolina when I was in South Carolina I saw tobacco farm they have a big leaves .
Historical Document! Reminds me of the 1960's and 1070's in Woodsdale North Carolina at the farm of my uncle Woody Rogers!
Man I wish I cold have lived back then so beautiful.
In 1949 horses and mules were still in common use in the US tobacco belt. And apparently there was no mechanization whatsoever in any portion of the process from sowing the seeds, transplanting the seedlings, cultivation, removing the flowering heads, harvesting the three types of leaves and curing. 1949 was only 73 years ago (as of the 2022 harvest). The process hadn't changed much in 250 years.
Only now they add ammonia the facilitate a higher nicotine uptake, along with a host of other chemicals that cause addiction and cancer. Not complaining, mind you- tobacco dividends are helping to make my future retirement much more comfortable
"Quick-fingered girls" pretty much informs us of an earlier, and less sensitive time in America.
I hope there’s a narrator and lots of down-home music if I wind up dying from the cigarettes I finally gave up 13 years ago
Tobacco Thunder roads of thee golden leaf flues

Enjoying tobacco in limited quantities will do less harm than today's fitness craze with proteins, plant-based artificial testosterone and other vitamins.
The bad thing about the tobacco industry was the flavor enhancers and aromas that were introduced later, as well as additives that were supposed to make the smoker immediately dependent on the tobacco. Make him to a chain smoker.
They going to learn how to farm marijuana are veggies real soon
