    Good job and you are lucky it is not the 4.6is. Had to pull out the manifold, coolant pipes etc and re-gasket all of that for the "weeping hole" coolant leak.
    Good video and great job.

    Suggestion - loosen the water pump pulley bolts before you remove the belt. The belt holds the pulley in place so you can easily loosen the pulley bolts.

    i have some hint, you need to replace your 105c termostat to 90c termostat to procect your rubber seelant, 105c will fry all rubber and plastic of this engine, to soon, so get the 90c termostat to lower the engine heat

    Hi Nicky great video I have the same problem a leak small hole next to the water pump. already replace water pump along with thermostat, and still leaking. I don’t want to go thru all the process of replacing the valley pan and transfer pipe, Is there a way to know if water is under neath it to avoid replacing the transfer pipe. Another thing in this video you did not show his to remove the stent, and the sealant that goes on the stent do you have to wait 24 hour for it to dry before putting Everything back together. Can you just put it together then wait the 24 hora to dry then add coolant. I am looking forward for your response THANK YOU

    • @nickycarz1663
      @nickycarz1663  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If there is liquid coming out of the weep hole then there is for sure coolant in the valley pan. The more solid fix is replacing the transfer pipe (and with that you can remove all that excess coolant), but it is a lot of work. To be honest, I didn't want to go through the process of it either, which is why I tried the stent first. The stent is an easier fix, but if it doesn't work, then you have to go through the whole process of taking it out and then replacing the transfer pipe. Because I avoided it in the beginning, it cost me a lot more time and money. And yes, I let the sealant on the stent dry for 24 hours before putting everything back together. I hope that answers your question.

      Yes thank you for your quick response, and yes I will replace the the whole thing. to end the problem ones in for all.

      Hi Nicky another question just went to bmw dealer and I ask for the transfer pipe and told me it only comes with one o ring. Also they said they don’t show the stent being nowhere?? Can you please send me link or tell me where you bought the transfer pipe with all o rings and stent and price would appreciated thank you.

      @@juanjasso642 I originally bought the transfer pipe on Amazon. "URO Parts 11141439975PRM Collapsible Water Transfer Kit, Contains 2 Piece Pipe, 2 Seals, 3 Shims, 3 O, Lock Ring, Grease" (however the page is down right now) :( Also, I bought the bimmerfix on their website. bimmerfix.com/

      Hi Nicky is me again sorry for all this questions. I just realized my 2006 x5 e53 4.8is does not have a stent did yours had one before installing the new stent? Is yours a e53 4.8is also. I am just confused now. Also I order the pipe from the dealer waiting on it. My question is will I be able to installed it if I remove my radiator? I try fitting the current pipe I cut thru the hole and it won’t fit. Does this mean you could only install the after market after you replace the oem? One more thing my bimmer fix just came in but did not include the stent.Thank you again for all your knowledge on this.

    Too bad you didn’t take footage when you bleed the cooling system. I own a 2005 x5 4.8is and I’m in the process of replacing the coolant expansion tank and one the houses that run from expansion tank and water pump. I just can’t find a good video where someone explains how to do a cooling system bleeding on a x5 4.8 is

    9/10 the wee pools do not go bad nor do the o’rings. I’ve found that on the 4.4 which is basically your motor just less bore and stroke it’s all the m62 platform. Anyways, if it’s a front leak, I’ve found that the gaskets for the water pump that fails causing a coolant leak onto drive belts that cause them scream and pulleys to fail.

    • @dflex4180
      @dflex4180 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      9/10 times if your getting a leak in that area and your water pumper is working properly with a good gasket it is this fix, the N62s all have to do this fix eventually..even with a brand new water pump and gasket this will eventually start to leak before 100000...so if u there changing the gasket u might as well do this quick fix

    Only if the seal is bad in the front for the Bimmerfix. The seal in the back wears out too🤔 so I'll change the coolant transfer pipe 😊 kill 2 birds with one stone😉
