Set against the backdrop of a working farm in rural Northern Ireland, 'An Irish Goodbye' is a black comedy following the reunion of estranged brothers Turlough (Seamus O’Hara) and Lorcan (James Martin) following the untimely death of their mother (Michelle Fairley).
Under the watchful eye of odd-ball parish priest Father O’Shea (Paddy Jenkins), the brothers’ pained reunion is worsened by the fact Turlough must now make new care arrangements for Lorcan, who has Down Syndrome. A robust and dedicated farmer, Lorcan’s dream of continuing to work the land he grew up on is thwarted when Turlough decides he’s sending him to live with their Aunt on the other side of Ireland.
But when the brothers discover an unfulfilled bucket list belonging to their late mother, Lorcan senses an opportunity: he’ll only agree to leave the farm once he and Turlough have themselves completed every single wish on their mother’s list…
… all one-hundred of them.

One of my best friends (while growing up) had Down Syndrome too. I also met many fine friends who also had it too as I ventured into teaching special education.
Those who show mercy will be given mercy. I admire you and thank you for your compassion, it gives me hope.

If you live in a large city with a movie theatre that shows foreign and independent films, they might have a day where they show all the short films nominated for an Oscar; otherwise, sometimes someone puts out a compilation of short films nominated for an Oscar. (It is frustrating that there is not an easily available way to see the short films).

This one is a lot better than Rain Man, but it has the same feels as The Peanut Butter Falcon so it's acceptable for this disabled movie.
