I keep my dog under control & avoid causing any accidents to anyone, perhaps cyclists can slow down when approaching people, dogs, cars or other cyclists that could cause injury. Consideration for all
I'm a dog owner and a mountain biker also and I can say I have never had a problem when out on my bike. If I see people ahead I sound my bell, slow down, walking pace if needed and never speed past and startel the dog as they can go into protection mode and bark at you, some dogs also like to chase things! When out with my dogs I'm always on the lookout for bikes, horses, motorbikes etc to avoid any accidents it's all about consideration for others👍
Good video. :) I am not a dog owner, I just have a cute* cat, but my brothers have 3 dogs. Yeah, we have never to blame these animals, just their stupid owners. * Sometime it's a bastard...
The worst owners are the ones that block the whole road with the dog leash. Especially those self-wounding ones, they are so thin that you nearly can't see them, which is why I once drove into one while cycling.
When on a lane or towpath, the onus is on you the cyclist to warn any pedestrian that you are approaching, we can't hear you coming and you're doing 4/5times our speed.
I met a guy who uses a taser on dogs on the bike trail if he is attacked. I'll get one too. Dogs are supposed to be on a leash on the Withlacoochee Trail.
Hello, I carry a homemade pepper spray. Common spray, reclaimed screw top bottle, vinegar & chili water(filtered), sling holder on the shoulder through the neck. Or use the holder attached to the steering bar. It always work 100%. One great thing about this is, so easy to hit the mark(attacking dogs). The range is as long as 6-7meters(adjust the nozzle choke;turn it to the right). 4shots/second in average hands. Once they are shot with this, they usually start to avoid me. They quickly learn I am the wrong man to aggress.
Well I'm a frequent mountain biker and never had a problem with unleashed dogs. In most natural areas owners let them loose, they are free to run. Sometimes even on natural reserves. I think the problem is rather how the owners educate and treat their animals. And by the way, it's normal to slow down for cyclists when passing near pedestrians or kids, so why not dogs...
Two water bottles , one full of water the other full of vinigar, give it a good squirt , But not at the dog just the ignorant owners. Under the dangerous dogs act 1990 says " if you feel threatened by a dog, be it a poodle or rottweiller then they should be kept under control" if not the owner is committing an offence

Perhaps you would find life less stressful if your cycle was fitted with a warning device ie a BELL , humans don't have eyes in the back of their head.
When I go biking in my neighborhood there’s a lot of dog owner who keep there dogs around in the streets most of them who are very violent toward people. What I do is when I see the huge pack of dogs ahead I let them chase me and see the owners doing nothing about it and come back with a bat or with a thick branch I find and beat the shit out of them if I go back there and they chase me. They can’t really say shit to me and if they do I tell them that there dogs shouldn’t even be in the streets. And before everyone starts giving me hate comments let just tell you most of these owners don’t even give them dogs there shots and I’ve seen many get bitten and there dogs are the reason many kids don’t go outside. Edit: If you’ve been chase my 3 German shepherds, you understand my pain
I got knocked down by an aggressive dog once. A German Shepherd came within one foot of my leg as I rode by. Thankfully pepper spray stopped him! I'm tired of people not keeping their dogs under control.
did you watch the same video i did? it looks to me like the dog owners in the parks are taking up the whole path while literally watching the cyclist approach. Two types of people, inconsiderate and considerate. You seem like the type of person who you needs to be explicitly told that you are in some ones way...inconsiderate.
It's all fun and games, until you get hurt, or worse. My opinion is, pepper spray any dog, that approaches you. Not only will it protect you, but will train the dog not to do that in future, and therefore protect others too. And discouraging dogs from being in the street/road, will help keep them from getting run over. Imagine a world, where dogs are more afraid of you, than you are of them. It was a cat, that ran from behind a house, directly under my front tire, before I could react, that laid me low. I am still surprised, at how fast it happened, and how devastating the results were. There is something weird, in an animals brain, that makes them do something, a human would never do, or expect. To run as hard and fast as possible, to get under a moving vehicles tires. Same goes with kids, and some adults. To give myself the best odds of survival, I always slow down, and stop, when I see an animal, or child, anywhere in my field of vision. I never assume, they will do what is logical. Unfortunately, they can appear and move so quickly, you don't have time to react. That is when driving slow, and wearing protective gear, is your last/best defense.
I have a dog too. It's always on the leash near people and public places :)

Indeed, the worst part of a dog is the owner with no brain.
i agree the ones with no brain or whats left of it after their school days.
yes, i agree, smart people don't have dogs
Good video. :)

We've all seen Cujo right?
Completely off-topic but mildly interesting factoid: Stephen King was so high at the time that he has absolutely no recollection of writing Cujo.
That I didn't know.
You ended on a good note, hopefully dog owners take heed.

People are not gonna bite you dummy
If there's a leash ordinance then you shouldn't just let your dog run around no matter how big a space it is

👍 for the " Model dog owner "..
I hated when you heard dog barking at night and you can’t see it
Should make a video about the different types of cyclists out there

I'm a dog person! But i don't have time for cats...
Beware of small dogs & children.
Perhaps you would find life less stressful if your cycle was fitted with a warning device ie a BELL , humans don't have eyes in the back of their head.
Perhaps you should get hearing aids 0:59 you can clearly hear the bell
You ring your bell it's "fuck off" you don't ring your bell it's "fuckin hell".

Here comes trouble

very. good
mad dogs and englishmen
Too many people own dogs who shouldn't.
1:01 the woman is braver hahaha
Poor guy! It must be a real pain riding through wonderful landscapes and having to share them with some stupid pedestrians and their dogs.
Yeah, it must be a pain for those pedestrians to have to share the path with cyclists. Idiot
@@siriosstar4789 I despise dog owners like you.
Happy end :D
I’m a cyclist as well. You don’t own those fucking paths. Slow down.
Do you think cyclists own open spaces? Learn to share. You own your garden, not roads and parks.

Beautiful scenery but spoil by devil dogs trying to hurt human. Bring a spray bottle filled with soap water and spray the eyes.
Maybe, drain unclogger?
It seems like cyclist think they own the road and every where else, cycle some where else...!!!!
Why not the road is for people (and cyclists are also included) and not for dogs who jumb at a person
What are you a mute ?:)) Just speack with the dogs when they attack you and they will stop . You're not saying anything lmao .
😂I hope it was a joke
