Hello MotoFam, can see lots of comments that we are negative about Elevate. The fact is we have expressed our views how Honda India has missed a great opportunity with the Elevate which would keep their dealers and Honda India cruise effortlessly with the Hybrid market share. They have the best 1.5L Hybrid which is available in the City. The Mid Size SUV segment is a lucrative one which can be cracked only if their is something unique that creates an attention to prospective buyers. Also Honda management has to keep down their ego, come down to the market and sell what the customer needs rather than being adamant on their legacy and values. I'm not opposing your views. Respect your feedbacks and points and let's wait how it performs in the market.
Aptly reflected my thoughts.. They can provide more variants and let people decide based on what features they want in their cars.. Not launching with hybrid option eventhough they have the tech is a big disappointment..
A very honest talk about Elevate. Yesterday when the car was launched, I was specifically waiting for Asir bro's review about the missing hybrid engine. Elevate cannot simple rival Creta/Seltos/Kushaq/Taigun unless they price it competitively. As Asir said, The path in which Honda took is not good for its growth in India.

After seeing the review... Only one thing I can say for sure… Honda is all about quality, reliability, more than required comfort with absolute safety and sensible features… Just think after purchasing a car with Excess features how many of us will actually use all the features.. you are 100% right I was expecting e-hv equivalent Elevate.. but it is a big disappointment. We are still waiting for 4 cylinder hybrid.... in mid size SUV.... LOL
Whatever the size, but overall exterior looks like Nissan Magnite. My boss in Singapore he used civic and he is always honda fan. I have rided with his civic many times and its suspension is even stiffer than ecosport.
Hello Aasir Sir.. I hv just checked with Ambatr Olympia showroom.. The salesperson said, obviously it will be priced somewhere from 20L plus.. It was too early for him to even detail on variants..
Anna, After seeing your underrated episode of Alcazar, it has been added to many of our buying lists. Please compare the brand's After-sales service as we are seeing lots of complaints about TATA & Mahindra. Are Indian cars not giving better After-sales service?
My opinion: Already midsize SUV is already crowded. Since Elivate is based on City, they should designed as coupe SUV with 195mm GC. No competition in coupe suv. It would be a head turner.
I would avoid Hybrid for now, coz the technicians in service centers are not trained upto the mark yet. Choose Ivtec you wont regret it. Pricing will decide its success or lose on Sep 4th. Eagerly waiting.
It's just a practical car. It doesn't matter who needs a good car, one that is reliable, fuel-efficient, and offers adequate power for a mid-size SUV. However, due to its small size as an SUV, if a panoramic roof is added, it may compromise structural integrity and raise questions about safety measures. There is no complicated turbo engine, but it provides a good amount of power and smooth refinement with Honda quality, unlike VW and Skoda's new cars. What else do you need? As an Indian, we need to pay 30 to 40% in taxes. Manufacturers have limitations in considering all aspects while producing the car within budget without compromising on quality. Additionally, if we look at the sales volume of hybrid city, it is not good. Moreover, opting for a hybrid may increase the car price and maintenance costs, especially considering the battery pack. Long-term ownership might not be affordable for many, so it's a good thing they haven't included EHV in elevate
@motowagon. Elevate will crack the petrol lovers. Since compared to maruthi/skoda twin, seltos and creta petrol engine, Honda ivtec is a step ahead, so elevate will pick from others petrol suv and also it will increase its own no Hybrid. They should include it soon, AND GOOD MARKETING IS REQUIRED
Asir bro, I agree with you that Seltos and Hyundai are more advance w.r.t features and looks perspective. However Players like Honda, Renault & Nissan are few more manufacturers couldn’t build competitive products due to only poor planning and design engineering or Hyundai, Kia and Maruti enjoys any special privileges in India as they have strong base and government support with lot of subsidiaries. I guess this calls for a deeper SWAT analysis.
I think this car with its features is 5 years late. If this car with the same feature list it has now if launched 5 years back may have had a good impact. But now when other brands are jumping to next level Honda has just arrived with these features. It is a bummer. I was definitely expecting a Hybrid engine and ventilated seats... That would have made sense. And to make it better a better infotainment system and a 360 degree camera would have established the car in the right portfolio. Maybe people would have bought the hybrid in SUV and after enjoying the engine might have improved the sales for Honda City as well through word of mouth about the quality of the engine and technology for sedan buyers....
@@selvamuthukumaran5016 The problem is it should have launched with hybrid at launch to get a great hype.......and they mentioned only elevate ev after 3 years ..nothing about hybrid variant...
Irundhum i am happy for no hybrid. Every addition of component gives additional failure. As a honda fan they have done good. Instead do more refinement to engine
I don't know why most of the people crying for hybrid. Already there is a hybrid car. The sales volume of it would show their missing of honda hybrid in elevate... I would say if honda can price this version affordable that would be enough rather than a costly so called great mileage hybrid variant...
Base model in Ex showroom if elevate matches city price then it will sure click Hybrid will be 23+L so that segment is not most selling space But still has to agree Honda never accepts new features
When all users are complaining anout the NVH issue in their Elevate model and Honda must immediately address the issue. This is where Honda needs to address issuees in order to boost their sales volume. If they remain complacent about customers' complaints, the sales volume is bound to suffer. This spart, Honda had to release a few more models judging the market trends.
I was waiting for this podcast. I was really excited about Elevate as a product from Honda. But my expectations were crushed when I saw the product in its flesh. I saw few people talk about Honda missing a turbo petrol engine in its Elevate lineup but I don't see turbo engines doing much nunbers in this segment. Another complaint is that Honda's ivtec NA not having real power/torque figures (atleast in paper). But comparing the NA from other manufacturers, the numbers are relatively better stacked up in favour of Honda. Its about how you have tuned the engine. The only place where I see Honda is falling short is a hybrid powertrain. To sum up there is nothing special about Elevate that would pull me closer to it. Maybe a missed opportunity.
Let's see the pricing and come to conclusion.. i think they are going to still steal some creta buyers by placing the pricing little lower dhan creta and giving more features on basic model itself
Nice video and good analysis...Honda is adamant. Everything will be decided by authorities in Japan...Indian Authorities just listen to them, and do as they say...They see Indian customers very cheaply...Best example is, 12-13L cars with no rear seat head rest...Even after customers feedback they didn’t change rather they stopped manufacturing cars itself…When common man can study market so well cant Honda study?...They know the customer requirement very well but yet they don’t care Indian customers…Very adamant…There concept is I will see like this only and people should buy like this only…Same thing is with 2 wheeler market also…They r happy to get generations of Activa but they are not ready to get CBR series to India…Honda will surely follow Ford’s way in India…
Polarised front look No sunroof No hybrid No type c charger No ventilated seats No electric adjustable seat belt No auto hold break Else City in a cross over format Still will do decently if price is set properly and hybrid is introduced soon from the second base atleast Do or die situation for HONDA.
Honda oda Engine, comfort irukatum... They should feature it according to the Trend, oru feature practical perspective La irukanum.... How maruti adopted , & how Seltos created initial impression That's a definite Lag of Honda 😢
@@inpursuitofhappiness366 yes I'm not only admitting it to my own view... But sometimes it'll b an icing on the cake, what if it had some deal breaking point. Already they dropped the Hybrid version for Elevate, coming to the market of mid Suv after decades & showing tat I too poses something is not a concern, might B those who own Honda r enthusiast will opt for a drive, but the idea is to dominate the market with the best in class N/A engine (this alone proves, but only those who knew they'll prefer, but they should attract the mass market to dominate, we can't afford to lose another OG in the market rather than having a post-credit stuffs 😂)
Have you discussed the ground clearance 220m which is a plus for this segment of our road conditions and water logging.. compared to Creta or seltos is less
It's value for money in 20L will get ADAS in this segment need to spend 2L more in creta and seltos, no fancy features in honda but safety features are important but indian people are very impressive with fancy features rather than safety features
Elevate not having rear armrest in mid variants. Only top variant having rear armrest. But creta, seltos, taigun in others having other small essential features for lesser price than elevate
Eventhough they have a refined 1.5 l N A engine, They would have give a turbo petrol engine for those who look for performance, to give a tough competition among other competitors VW group, Hyundai group,
Rightly Said!! Very Expected Features like Hybrid Variant, 360 degree Camera, Ventilated Seats were not provided!! I dont think Top Variant will sell much in number. Maybe because of that 1.5 IVTech Engine, people might buy mid variant!
let's see the pricing, if the start at 10L end at 15 L still some decent volumes can be made , ventilated seats , panoramic sunroof etc are just a luxury not everyone needs it for an extra few lakhs.
BTW, personally I didn’t like design and I believe their last generation products are awesome in all aspects. I love Virtus from VW in all aspects! This is the only sedan I would like to own after Honda civic, Škoda Lura!
@ MOTOWAGON team, good topic for discussion. You were not able to participate in the launch event? HONDA needs to pick clues from Suzuki, see how they have transformed their product line in terms of features, engine specs, product line-up. I have no doubt Honda Elevate will be an Engineering Marvel, couple of features like ventilated seats, electronic adjustable seats and of course a hybrid could have changed the game. I am hopeful Hybrid will be launched soon. Another area HONDA needs to work is service centers and service costs
Honda Elevate is big disappointment for me as I was expecting full spec with 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, Panoramic sun roof, full digital infotainment, power seat adjustment, Strong Hybrid and no much variant in engine(turbo option) spec too. . So planned to move towards MG Astor/Hector or Kia Seltos 2023 facelift or Hyndai Creta 2023 facelift.
Creta most selling varients is E and Ex so I would say if elevate is able to match that price give must features under 15 lakhs for petrol, then they will easily sell and for people who want a alternative to creta seltos and grand vitara or hyryder, and as for not giving hybrid I think they want to play safe and maybe they don't want to compete with the top end diesels as of now, because a 1.5 diesel can be compared to hybrid in torque and performance, maybe they would have thought it might not be priced competitive with features, they might wait and introduce
lets say if e:HEV is launched in elevate, it will be around 24l on road, then also people will still ask y no air purifier, no panoramic, no ventilated seats? y spend 24laks for this? but fact is e:HEV is far superior and proven product in south east asian markets.. if this market is purely based on features then this will fail or it will sell in some decent numbers.. instead of e:HEV debate, Honda could have bought their 1l turbo engines.. which would have been a refreshing and welcoming change and can be used for sub4m cars like bringing back WRV with 1l turbo.. that will be purely game changer in performance point of view.

Automakers are hamstrung by supply constraints. Automakers such as BYD and Citroen have been working for more than 7 years to secure suppliers to bypass compliance and regulatory burdens and suffer volume pressure. They have controlled costs but will take them time to spur volume. It's understandable that buyers are frustrated about manufacturers omitting or doing away with expectations. But a simple dimension change would warrant a complete change in jigs and fixes at the supplier's plant and the only way is to procure from global suppliers and say what they are cheaper. Here comes the Basic Duty that is charged at 7 - 10 percent to level up with local suppliers, further increasing costs. So automakers when deciding to make a car entirely from scratch for a local market are forced to bargain and scramble for parts locally. And there aren't enough local parts manufacturers that will make whatever you want. The government and the consumers must first take the heel of their necks, relax norms, relax regulatory burdens, and layers of compliance making it difficult for manufacturers to give what y'all need. Now you may ask how legacy players like Suzuki, and Hyundai despite being international brands scoop out newer cars like a piece of cake. They had the first-mover advantage, and 3 decades of presence have given them their own sweet time to secure vendors. Major vendors such as Rane, ZF, SL Lumax plants adjacent or nearer to their plants, most of them made exclusively for them Protectionism is killing business common sense. TATAs and Mahindra were though by many they'd die in a liberalized market but survived and thrived to the point they pip their interactional counterparts in sales and features and even performance.

Additionally, if we look at the sales volume of hybrid city, it is not good. Moreover, opting for a hybrid may increase the car price and maintenance costs, especially considering the battery pack. Long-term ownership might not be affordable for many, so it's a good thing they haven't included EHV in elevate
Agreed

Which model to buy for Hyundai Creta ? And petrol or Diesel which one to pick
@motowagon. Elevate will crack the petrol lovers.
Since compared to maruthi/skoda twin, seltos and creta petrol engine, Honda ivtec is a step ahead, so elevate will pick from others petrol suv and also it will increase its own no
Hybrid.
SWOT analysis
I was about to book Elevate but when I came to know it doesn't have Hybrid, I quit.
@@selvamuthukumaran5016 The problem is it should have launched with hybrid at launch to get a great hype.......and they mentioned only elevate ev after 3 years ..nothing about hybrid variant...
Hybrid may be an upgrade....
The problem is hybrid will be 2-3 lacs more than grand vitara hybrid . Look at the price difference with normal city and City EHEV
These ppl conversation might be in negative shaded
Buy hyryder
Irundhum i am happy for no hybrid. Every addition of component gives additional failure. As a honda fan they have done good. Instead do more refinement to engine
I don't know why most of the people crying for hybrid. Already there is a hybrid car. The sales volume of it would show their missing of honda hybrid in elevate... I would say if honda can price this version affordable that would be enough rather than a costly so called great mileage hybrid variant...
Because honda doesnt have a diesel
For me Honda elevate front portion looks like honda pilot in honda canada
Base model in Ex showroom if elevate matches city price then it will sure click
Hybrid will be 23+L so that segment is not most selling space
But still has to agree Honda never accepts new features
Nice team work sir
Really great explanation
When can we expect the creta facelift unveil? Any ideas?
Very much expected :) timing
Polarised front look
No sunroof
No hybrid
No type c charger
No ventilated seats
No electric adjustable seat belt
No auto hold break
Else
City in a cross over format
Still will do decently if price is set properly and hybrid is introduced soon from the second base atleast
Do or die situation for HONDA.
Can i buy alcazar petrol dct or wait for seltos face lift.
❤
Honda oda Engine, comfort irukatum... They should feature it according to the Trend, oru feature practical perspective La irukanum....
How maruti adopted , & how Seltos created initial impression
That's a definite Lag of Honda 😢
Why no manufacturer considering Plug-In Hybrid for India ? That would make sense with range anxiety
Great analysis 🎉
Elevate not having rear armrest in mid variants. Only top variant having rear armrest. But creta, seltos, taigun in others having other small essential features for lesser price than elevate
Should have given hybrid because it's related to mileage n saves money.
Motowagon, please make a Elevate vs jazz comparison
I am still satisfied with Elevate. Only thing is if it is priced from 12 lakhs like city then forget the sales volume.
Vaipay illa . Sedan ah vida SUV type rate over an tha irukum bro .
Had high hopes. When they don’t reveal the price then they are not confident about the product.
Got it
Its just an unveil
Happened with most of the latest cars...VW ,skoda,MS,etc
Maruti disclosed the pricing of Jimny after months. That’s the way the auto industry works.
Anyone who has fear for life will never buy Maruti. Horrible product and never even go near them.
In terms of safety Maruti has improved a lot, say Breeza, New Baleno, Vitara are safe products
Bro tata prima 3530 tipper review pannunga
Please pannunga
Talk about cars not worry about manufacture's behavior n expectations
Seriously me and my friends waited for honda suv ....
Only selling point of Honda is their reliable engine, stability, steering feedback n build quality.
lets say if e:HEV is launched in elevate, it will be around 24l on road, then also people will still ask y no air purifier, no panoramic, no ventilated seats? y spend 24laks for this? but fact is e:HEV is far superior and proven product in south east asian markets.. if this market is purely based on features then this will fail or it will sell in some decent numbers.. instead of e:HEV debate, Honda could have bought their 1l turbo engines.. which would have been a refreshing and welcoming change and can be used for sub4m cars like bringing back WRV with 1l turbo.. that will be purely game changer in performance point of view.
Elevate vs C3 aircross? Which is best
Honda already has 1 year back log orders for ehev.. So I don't think its feasible for them to launch another hybrid i guess

Can you please review Honda CR V? Seems a new model is coming up.
Maruti has announced Jimny prices. Is it worth buying for the price for urban use? Feel it is not worth the price.
Definitely not
Bro you are right.
Major vendors such as Rane, ZF, SL Lumax plants adjacent or nearer to their plants, most of them made exclusively for them
Protectionism is killing business common sense. TATAs and Mahindra were though by many they'd die in a liberalized market but survived and thrived to the point they pip their interactional counterparts in sales and features and even performance.
