The infamous Snyder interview from 1981 uploaded in full for the first time- Snyder spends most of the time chain smoking and goading Manson on in any way possible, while a somewhat sedated Manson rues having to talk.
I watched this when it originally aired when I was a kid and Charlie scared the crap out of me. As an adult watching this decades later, it's Tom that scares the crap out of me.
Same
How I was when I was a child I believed too much in adults
Yea Tom Synder is acting like a dolt. Won't let the subject talk. You know Manson is crazy and yet you take offense when he calls you out.
Tom had met the likes of Harlan Ellison in the past. This was just a walk in a park for him.
😂🤣
at 27:36 the interviewer smiled at manson's joke and when he noticed the camera was on him, he put on his fake serious face LMFAO
XD
100 percent :)
The fake fell away for a few seconds.
Haha haha yep
He's been a fake fuck all his life.
Probably got a high off him
“Did you kill her” “HELLLLL NO!” “Did you cut that mans ear off” “HELLLL...yes I did”
I laughed so hard😂😂😂 best part
Leonna Jones uhhhhhh I felt bad about it. Lol
@@CobraCraig88 I mean it's definitely something to feel bad about. I wasn't saying the act itself was funny, just the way he said it.
I was just quoting him
@@CobraCraig88 dang my bad😂😂😂
Charles actually controlled the interview and appeared coherent. If only Mark Laita from soft white underbelly interviewed him.
So the interviewee can lie there ass off with extra sauce on top
Yeeeees!
No those interviews are played out with mostly uninteresting people that usually fuck over hard working people over then get praise for it
The Regan Jr interview is good he doesn't try and provoke and gets a coherent charlie
Mark would be awesome to interview him
Tom Snyder asking about a "celebrity hit list" and Manson says "if I wanted to harass them, I just wouldn't watch their TV shows" LMAO
😂
Qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq
He’s fighting a whole machine thinking it’s a regular interview lol, he has no idea what’s even happening
better than the interview with haraldo
was he a rat or a journalist ?
"If I wanted to harass them, I would just not watch their TV show" Does anybody else realise how relevant this quote is, especially in today's world? 🤔
Realize he got u pregnant rn
It’s extremely true
A broken clock is still right twice a day
This interviewer had the opportunity of a lifetime and completely blew it for sensationalism.
he didn't blow it he's just incompetent
I'm on the same page.. Good comment
@Gambit22003 Exactly . COMPLIANCE IS FUTILE WHEN THOSE WHO DESPISE YOU DECIDE IF IT'S ENOUGH . CHARLIE must be guilty because established authoritarianism CAN'T EVER BE SEEN TO BE INVALID . Their game is up people won't refuse to what's there .
Are you aware that there are other interviews of Manson?
Geraldo Rivera - 1988
Heidi Schulman - 1987
Diane Sawyer - 1993
Charlie Rose - 1987, etcetera.
You know the man was mad as a hatter, right? There´s no question you could've asked that would've rendered any insight into his mind, or motivations.
Do you think Snyder asked the wrong questions? What question would you ask that you think this madman would ever give a straight answer to?
I assure you that no matter what was ever asked of Manson he would only ever say exactly what he wanted to, whether his answer had anything to do with the question or not.
I said a similar thing. This guy is a total ass
Imagine one room - two men;
One is a glib, two faced, lying narcissistic psychopath, the other guy is Charles Manson.
well-said

This is not an interview..
This is an interrogation!
Lol so true

The interviewer is an ass

"Word is...that you're an old woman." LMFAO
Basically he's calling him a bitch lol
The actual epic reply
lol right I was dead
Word is.. you have Turkey🦃 in the sky.
He had a point
The interviewer was preoccupied with looking tough and standing up to the big bad killer, and ended up ruining the interview.. Just let Manson talk, we don't care what the interviewer has to say right now.
Amen
Manson never got his hands dirty and killed anyone loo
5:26 Charles was actually about to respond honestly and this interviewer literally interrupted the answer to his own question with unnecessary aggression.
unnecessary? manson is a piece of shit
@@milk-el8vq Treating people the way you'd wish to be treated does not mean treating people they way you think they should be treated.
milk that’s not the point, maybe if dumbfucks like you and the interviewer would listen we’d learn a lot more about these types of people.

Uh... no. You have no idea he was about to tell the truth. There was no way he would have felt bad about it, he feels no remorse and feels that he is the victim.
@@milk-el8vq your a piece of shit as well. So should you be in prison? Im a piece of shit as well.
Snyders' exhaustive grab at Manson is so painfully great. He tries so hard to catch Charlie but Charlie is levels ahead of him.
Giving any psychopath or monster any kudos is sick. I grew up during this period and Snyder was great at letting this monster Just keep proving that he belongs in hell.
Interview was informative and terrifying.
Sadly that monster gained notoriety from other sick people. Just disgusting.
@@shanebush2751 whatever monster you're referring too is respectfully noted. But if you're referring to Manson.... that monster was created by yours truly, uncle Sam. Do your research and you'll find that out.
@@88vandal1 Uncle sam ? thats baloney ! Manson is a hillbillie , he was lazy , no balls ... just listen to this clown , he couldnt fool you if he tried , you would just walk away , im sure , hes basically sayin he is a zero , in this interview
@88vandal1 and what research is that? The National Enquirer , Fox News, the comics?
Nobody was responsible for the Manson killings but everyone that was convicted, not only including Charlie, but especially Charlie.
If you and your friend rob a gas station with a gun, your friend freaks out and kills the attendant, you both are guilty of murder and armed robbery. Stop blaming our government. Or, maybe you would prefer China or Russia?

You could see it in his face…
@@truthboy2164 no they had a pretty good amount of evidence and it's called murder by proxy and he's pretty famous for being one of the only cases of that I know you're probably just speaking your mind, but that's really just not true.

@@truthboy2164 They have evidence for murder by proxy. He also claimed that he killed a few people in his lifetime by his own hand.
When in college in the 80s I was doing a term paper on cult killings. I wanted to do a phone interview with Charlie. My advisor thought I was nuts to believe he would agree- but he got the address for me. Three weeks later got a note from the prison stating he agreed and a phone number to call. I called on the chosen evening, and the staff member said he knew nothing about an interview with him, and said he can not get him to the phone. Called a few more times over the next few days and went to an answering machine. Wrote another letter to the prison and no response. I was disappointed to say the least.
My brother took care of Charlie in avalnol or Corcoran I can’t remeber what one. He had cancer. He snuck me out a signed picture of Charlie from his cell.
Manson was actually pretty harmless he was created by the media.
@@Jeff-sp7bgI don’t know if “harmless” is exactly the right way to put it, but he was nowhere near the boogeyman he was presented as.

"you gotta catch it on your own boy. the train's hard. the roads rough" that was a very honest moment in the interview.
That's actually the simplest realest answer a father can tell his son about life. It's 100% true & real. & the interviewer just dismissed it.
It resonates with me everytime. My father told me similar but not in that context
You see it in his face. It made me sad.
@@SocomVeteran the interviewer is low iq. No nuance and discern when needed. People judge all your life and everything you do and say after one famous action. As if the killer (which he isnt) cant have honest moments. These are the people who grew with evil evil guys and good good guys movies. Sad and pathetic.
This sentence alone shows that deep down Charlie was a man who was deeply hurt but I’m not here to sympathize
He shows us that your body can be in prison, but your mind doesn’t have to be there
Your physical is a manifestation of your mind
Exactly
Strange that the interviewer is oblivious to that fact
In reality in Charlie's mind he never did a day in prison. Free as a lizard in the desert. He won
Unless im crazy too. I think i understand what he means about feeling the grass grow and the trees. The mind can be free. Byt the body is in prison.
This guy interviewing was trying to get charlie to bite and show anger. He failed miserably
The interviewer was a horse's ass here.

"What do you say to your son out there who's watching his father in prison?
A) You gotta catch it on your own boy. The trains hard. The roads rough."
@Cheetah Panther yeah opposed to a soft train
Cheetah Panther This is why Manson was successful. Because you're looking at the words and not the actual sentiment. The words say "take care of yourself because life is hard", which is a totally fine thing to say to your kid, but the sentiment says "look how badly I've been treated by this world, don't let it happen to you", which is complete, utter bullshit. Just Charlie feeling sorry for himself like usual. The world is hard on most of us. We learn to cope as best we can. We don't take it out on innocent people and then cry woe is me when we get held accountable...
Sad that I wish he was my father. I could have used that advice. At least I can use it now.
@@StacheBigote he didn't say that, you are projecting that and putting it on him. You are just helping him prove his point.
How do you treat your kids? What will you say to your son? Answer that so we can decode it and find a reason to judge you for it. Try living a second as him or anyone else caught in the system.
Life wasnt promise to be easy and it isnt
The fact that Charles Manson is more likable in this interview and light years ahead of this interviewer is the best part. Ppl try to make him sound crazy but he is pretty sensible and had good advice thru a lot of this interview. I enjoyed listening to him talk. He is charismatic if you really listen.
So probably was Hitler and many other sick and sadistic killers but we don’t celebrate them with words of fondness and admiration, like u and others
31:20 "We all live in our own prisons, we're all our own wardens and we each do our own times. We all get stuck in our own little trips and we each judge our selves as we do"
Doesn't seem like ramblings of a mad man but the wisdom of a man who's thought deeply and internally.
this is why he was such an effective cult leader
@Joel Taveras wtf are you on about dumbass lmao
Watson was the leader. He had sex with the girls first and the girls got Manson convicted by blaming him, not Watson who they enjoyed servicing in any way. Wake up.
@🩸CL14M🩸 cult.
you could argue it was a commune until they started killing people, then it would be a cult.
@@Tjnola what cult are you subscribed to? Are you subscribed to Catholicism ? Or maybe CNN is a cult you prefer. Everything is a cult. Some cults are just sanctioned. Manson was a man. There was no cult. He lived the way he wanted. Period.

Bullshit
@@dixiebanks then why interview him? Seems pretty pointless to me
Is it weird that Charlie seems more sensible than the interviewer?
Yes, I.too noticed Manson always seems to be more lucid and intelligent than the interviewer. Interviewers always seem to have a very narrow limited one sided view of him. Also Manson again and again talks about his horrible childhood and interviewers never seem to care or show an ounce of sympathy for him.
Ealswythe Angelic Realms You think he’s better than the interviewer? Then you’re jsut another one of the people he’s manipulated
@@Deadlyvoltage3 ok idiot.
Really high IQ even toys with people,. That giggle is like him knowing a joke or something that no one else knows
The media manipulated the public into ignoring the fact that Tex Watson killed all those people.
Manson's right about Bugliosi. He created the Manson we all have in our mind, to stroke his own ego, win the conviction, write a book, make a small fortune.
Yep, lots of redacted files were in his possession. Got what was coming to him, cancer ate him up.
And the true villain, the government, got away with it. Justice was aborted just like millions of babies in land of the free, home of the fetusmeat.
Yep! And he was a psycho himself.. The book “Chaos” by Tom O’Neil covers it, and there’s some other interesting facts you can find in his interviews on here that he didn’t include in the book
well, he did try and pin the murders on Susan, when it was Tex. She is of course partially responsible for 8 deaths that night, and there is absolutely NO excusing any of it. But everyone with an IQ above room temperature knows that guy was just a crook, capitalizing on tragedy and a mother's grief for her daughter. Still say Manson was the ringleader and did explicitly tell them to kill, but Bugliosi is a bottom feeder, that much is obvious. He had a vested interest in stoking hate and a lack of forgiveness, and boy did it make him filthy rich. What happened to Sharon was a huge boon to him. Disgusting, but it's the truth.
i feel like so many ppl are nuts just like Manson. They can never realize the truth on almost everything in life is somewhere in the middle, in the grey. Did they probably do Manson wrong and build him into something he wasnt and completely fumble this whole thing, and all this other stuff thats held in contrary to the story for the mass public? Of course they did. But Manson was also a low down, piece of shit criminal that would likely deserve to be in prison one way or another, (like he always had been) regardless of his exact role in these particular crimes. Manson def had his role in it, but i will say he DID get railroaded for other ppls stupidity as well. But people dont want to or cant see the nuances in things, its either he was a psycho, mind controlling, voodoo killer and guilty.....OR hes totally innocent, used, set up and framed type shit on some batshit conspiracy theories. I mean come on lets get real. Regardless of his role in these specific crimes, this is a guy who has robbed, assaulted, cut, and shot people, and by his own admission. He's not some martyr you should look up to and idolize. Thats exactly what the people around him did and look where they ended up.
"I'm playing for my life, you're working for money" - Charles Manson
so is Snyder. Only difference is Charlie is trying to put his money over someone else's money. His life over someone else's life. His God over someone else's God.
Haha what?
Hi You can't categorize him like that.
There's no brilliance here. Just a maniac saying stuff. We all work for money. Dumb fucks
@@coolkat4536 You're the only dumb fuck here. He's saying that on the premise of the interview, Manson's trial is a reflection of him playing for his life opposed to a interviewer present on the bias of being paid with no interest in the absolute truth of Manson's circumstances in what he's being accused of.
"All I did was watch and learn everything I could from everyone I met"- Wisdom

This video SHOULD be titled "The Tom Snyder interview with Charles Manson".
I’ve always felt that this interview is one of the best pieces of cinema/television that I’ve ever watched
Charlie owned this interview. Tom came out looking like the bad guy.
Not after they edit it and put their own spin on it for public consumption this was not the interview they probably aired. just like the Heraldo Rivera interview. subsamadhi
Towards the end, Snyder finally stops talking and lets Charlie ramble, but in terms of the interview itself, I give Snyder a big fat ZERO. He barely lets Manson finish a thought, I will agree. Not that Manson would really give him much material. He's a master of manipulation & evasion. It would take someone who understood how Manson's mind operates to get anything of interest out of him, and maybe not even then. This particular video is a waste of time, imo. If you haven't watched it yet, don't bother.
subsamadhi
Anyone listening to him five minutes can figure that out. He is self centered, stupid, and can't follow simple directions because he is so self-loving and centered.

subsamadhi Snyder shouldn't be doing interviews if he doesn't want to hear the answer.
He was merely trying to provoke a reaction.
It was pretty obvious that Manson wasn't the one confused.
Who wouldn't? Living in society needs works.

This is one of Manson’s most honest and down to earth interviews. He actually seemed pretty even-keel. Instead of taking advantage of that, Snyder tried to bait him time after time. Snyder just wouldn’t let him answer anything. At one point he says Manson’s face is all carved up and his eyes are glowering. Snyder’s eyes were more mad than Charlie’s here.

You had me comvicted before i walked into the courtroom - Manson
Hes not lying..
Ah Manson the rapist who beat women on the ranch, held a razor to a man's neck and sodomised him in prison and cut someone's ear off.
Yes, he isn’t lying about that…..thats for sure. I cant help but feel sorry for him. He scared the hell out of me when I was a kid…..he was portrayed as this evil devil worshipping madman….when I dont think he actually was…not at all…i read that book Helter Skelter when i was an 8th grader and that formed my opinion about him and I think that prosecutor wrote it for the purpose of making a big payday at some poor mans exspense pretty much.
yeah, but it was more of a case of we kind of already know who is behind it it's called murder by proxy it's the same thing if someone convinces another person to commit suicide, you don't have to physically touch that person to be the reason that they died. If Manson had not said what he had said to the ppl on the ranch the Tabianca murders would never have happened.
The people who were involved directly killing those innocent people were charged for murder as well
@johnmcgegory3719 yea but he was drugged by the Cia mk ultra he did nothing the same as the people that committed the murder . The government are to blame here. Even his defense where put in buy the government. The government do way worse than u could ever imagine.
Every media person who ever interviewed Manson wanted to talk more than they wanted to listen..every single one of them exploited him for money . On the other hand Charlie knew they were exploiting him and often gave them a show ?
+baler johnson agreed. i commented that below. if you are going to watch this... and then feel the right to an opinion, then *please* watch a few interviews of *other* convicted, genuinely socio/psychopathic 'serial killers' who actually *did* things far far far more horrifying than *anything* Manson was even charged with, and watch how 'reporters' treat *them* during an interview. watch Ted Bundy's last interview. watch an interview with John Wayne Gacy, or Jeffrey Dahmer, or even Richard Kuklinski (the 'iceman') who's crimes and the pure horror of their actions are utterly chillingly horrific, yet watch how *they* are talked to like a human being. how *they* are interviewed and actually listened to for crying out loud. *does that NOT tell you something?*
+Carpe and all the rest thank you.
+baler johnson Its somewhat telling that Tom Snyder only repeatedly tries to goad and not empathize with Charles Manson.
vdelrio999 I agree...But it was what Snyder did best. It helped to make his ratings better and made him a few more nickles. I think Charlie wanted two things ..the first to be a fair trial and sentence ..he got neither . The second thing was that Charlie loved the spotlight and wanted to be one stage one way or the other.
+baler johnson He got the same from Geraldo et al, but, he picked up on that. And, these interviews got him out of the old prison routine, notoriety (any recognition in the clink is good), and (for his safety) in the public eye.
As a kid we were taught to be terrified of him.. as an adult there are some things that make you just be like .. DUDE, I WANNA JUST PLANT A TREE AND EAT A FIG TOO
I wish I possessed Mansons control and witty replies. The journalist many times tried to antagonize him and upset him but it never worked he always had a reply that controlled the frame or that one upped the guy.. very powerful skill to have.
It’s awareness. He had above average awareness. Most people are completely unaware.
7:18 "I'll believe you, and I'll put it in my pocket for later."
*Makes hand in pocket motion. 😂😂😂
Tom Snyder ruined the interview. Manson looks like the smarter of the two. Sad.
notsosilentmajority1 genius in comparison
***** You're right brother. I don't think an interviewer would conduct themselves like that today.....at least I hope not. It really did force him to keep up his defensives throughout the interview. Thanks for the post.
You guys are completely missing the point-with a guy like Manson the interview has to work hard to keep him focused.
You tell me chap
It would have been a lot better if Manson just spoke for hour and Snyder had kept his mouth shut.
Being crazy used to mean something, Nowadays everyone is crazy
The interviewer is a jerk, trying to act all tough not letting him speak
Tom Snyder was 6’4” big dude. Definitely not a lightweight.
Yep Manson doesn't respond well to that
he had to push manson just to keep him on track-if he didn't manson would have run the interview.
Manson did run the interview.
Nah. He's just telling it how it is. He asks Manson straightforward questions then he just dances around them giving no answers. He was put on the spot, completely exposed.
Tom Snyder cracks me up. By golly we're going to get to the bottom of you Charlie Manson if it takes me a carton of cigarettes!
Russell Goulding
Bahahahaha!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Lol
What month did this aire?
This is the most lucid interesting interview I've ever seen Manson do without the theatrics for the most part that he normally would display and it's all ruined by Snyder's pseudo tough guy routine. I wish Tom had just let him answer the questions without his "bad cop" routine
He’s doing the ‘bad cop’ routine because he knows Mansons just going to give him the runaround anyway
for real. this guy is borderline unbearable and cringey af
💯💯💯
@johnwise8433: You’re 100% correct. Tom Snyder and Geraldo Rivera were completely outmaneuvered by this man.
I think he was still being medicated around this time so he was a bit less manic than his later interviews.
Extremely agressive interview by Tom Snyder !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this interview is more like a Police interrogation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that part when Charlie makes a joke about how he was asked by an inmate if he was Jesus. U can see the interviewer start to smile and want to laugh, but people are conditioned to hate people like Charlie so he tries hard to wipe that smile away when the camera goes to him. We are all brainwashed to hate what we fear instead of listening and comprehending
Yeah Tom looked stupid when he realised he was caught looking like an excited 10 year old.
I noticed it too, he smiled, cause it's a funny story, but then he caught himself.
@@sissy9393 he came off as way too judgemental like manson was a prick but we already know that
Yhh why should we not hate this serial killer
U think ur edgy because u are going against public morals that if not in place ppl like u would surely be the one to miss the most. 😂
this definitely provoked anger in me..towards that interviewer.
27:21 Snyder lets his guard down for a brief second to laugh at Manson’s story, than quickly catches himself and puts the gloom face back on.
Hahaha
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Before click bait, there was interviews like this for the views and rating$. Manson knew the game.
“Here want some acid” “what’s that” “this is good. Makes colors go”
I fucking lost it when he said that
Hi s son was born damaged cos of Charlie and mother's acid taking Ng. His mum took acid throughout. Matt is now a drug addict, highly intelligent, gentle and sensitive. Looks wise there is a likeness.
i am wise to one thing..
whats that charles
well im not gonna tell you
LOL
Ha..Manson is on another level that snyder couldn’t keep up with in a million years. Snyder is speaking from a script put together by the media, psychologists, authorities etc Manson speaks from the heart, his life experiences and the real world. Manson 1 - Snyder 0
When Manson tells anecdote at 27:21 check out Snyder lose and quickly grab his mask back at 27:36. Can't help but laugh at that phoney!!
Wrong. That’s Snyder as an interviewer. You clearly never seen any 30 years worth of his interviews. one of the best
Manson also killed people
@@ausitnmiller I agree - he is not that respectless like others , he listens and has patience .
Are you…are you really rooting for Charles Manson?
"....he said i know you aint Jesus... How do you know?...Cuz i am" 😂😂 that even made the interveiw guy crack up and caught himself lmao
Best joke you ever heard. Only a select few will get it.
Hate him or love him, you gotta admit Manson had that inherent spark and unconformed special passion that is natural to children. This is a fascinating interview. It’s like he exists in an alternate dimension, not accessible by adults in society. Intriguing to say the least. I will be watching more of his interviews, that’s for sure
Have to say, he is actually very interesting. Quite intelligent.
Narcissists never grow up. Hardly admirable.
@@angeloreyes707 I know narcissists around me - and none of them is like charlie ! They are mean and manipulating people - unbearable !
I'm pretty sure Manson was mean and manipulated people.
'lust him or dust him'
I remember watching this interview in 1981.
I was supposed to go and visit some friends because I had just gotten out of the Marines and they were waiting for me.
I choose to stay home and watch this interview with Manson instead and I was not disappointed.
I had just read the book Helter skeltor and he wasn't anything like the book.
It has always stuck with me after all of these years.
Manson is a interesting person and at the time he was in a pyscatric ward.
Thank you for posting this video I really enjoyed taking a trip back in time.
@27:37 look at the interviewers face, and it change so quickly. Ive never seen something like this. But he was a victim to Mansons charm/wit/humor, then caught himself slippin, and turned that “programmed” switch back on. To dislike this man, to hate this man, when this man was just a troubled soul with a troubled past, that did troubled things. We are all human, we all fall short. One of the 10 commandments should have been thou shalt not judge, less thou be judged first.
I can't finish watching. This Snyder guy is too weird.
Russell Goulding he thinks he's the shit
Darnel W
Manson thinks he’s the shit. You gotta be assertive when dealing with a psychopath.
Double A Food Reveiw not all psychopaths are like this, in fact I doubt Manson is a psychopath. Y’all just use that as a buzzword for any criminal now. And for the record no you don’t have to be aggressive with a psychopath and you shouldn’t, if a psychopath is raised in an abusive home he will be very likely to go on and commit crimes, it’s actually the reason any psychopaths turn out to be criminals at all, unless there’s some other strange development in their brain chemistry. And regardless of what Manson is, being aggressive here obviously didn’t do shit, because we barely learned anything since the interviewer wouldn’t shut the fuck up. I’ve seen other interviews with Manson where the interviewer was calm and respectful, and manson actually talked like a normal person.
sea _
You are right, not all psychopaths are criminals. And yes, other interviewers have been passive with Manson, and he has walked over them, filling their ears up with his bullshit. I believe Manson IS a psychopath. He clearly shows a grandiose sense of self worth, he is manipulative, lacks empathy, and is a pathological liar.
sea _
Also, you can’t exactly attribute psychopaths committing crimes to abusive home life. Yes, people like Ed Kemper, John Wayne Gacy, and Charles Manson all had abusive or hectic home lives. This may, especially in Kemper’s case, have skewed the difference between right and wrong. But people like Ted Bundy had otherwise normal home lives, and they still commit egregious crimes. Abusive households definately play a role, but people like Kemper exhibited signs of crime before his mother’s abuse started. This is attributed to his father killing a chicken in front of Kemper, and making Kemper eat it for dinner. That is not abuse; this confused Kemper because: “why are we allowed to kill these chickens but not the dog next door?”. Abusive homes plays a role, but a psychopath is a psychopath, and can still kill with no remorse.
Tom acted like a tough guy in this interview. I doubt he would of been that confident if he was alone with Manson.
Manson wouldn’t do anything to that jackass…after this inter view they probably went and shared a pizza and laughed together about the whole interview. That pic of manson that was plastered all over every newspaper of the crazy eyed Manson wasnt actually what Manson looked like….he was just playing to the camera….but as a kid it scared me to death and it scared the whole country to death as well. I bet if manson was let out the day of this interview he would just live out a quiet life somewhere
This interviewer asking why does he want to be out of the isolation cell…….seriously? How would that jackass like being alone for, years and years and years…’.’.that is cruel to any human being
I’ve noticed in every interview that ive seen Mr Manson is sitting on a stool….no doubt he asks for that ahead of time because he is very small…..he dosent seem too scary when he is 5’2” tall…..that goes against how the media wants to portray this man as well so who knows whos idea it is ….could be the interviewer…maybe its because of the camera….its easier to film when they are not on the same level
Who taught Manson that a woman is supposed to do what a woman is supposed to do and be quiet while doing it…that would be society. Look, whats happening today in this country with Trump and his type followers.
Bet he would have, Manson is a tiny man. Only power Manson has is power over the simple minded.
Ron Burgundy could have conducted a more professional interview than this Snyder character
@blackkey1976 Speaking of colors, you just showed yours. It's not too surprising that a Trump supporter (which you clearly are, judging from the CNN-slam) would also admire a smelly little dipshit like Charlie Manson. I'll grant you, he wasn't stupid, but whatever his IQ, he had more animal cunning than intelligence; a truly intelligent man would have dropped all his counter-culture jive years before, because he wasn't fooling anybody in the early Seventies. - But judging from your comment and many of the others, you lot would have been prime sheep for that crafty little coyote.

"Word is that you are an old woman". You can just hear the frustration.
47 years shared with a world of *'Tom "Douchebag" Snyders'* is what produced a Charles Manson.
I would of loved Snyder to take that attitude with Richard Kuklinski. He would of shit himself.
Interviewer: Allow me to gaslight and exploit you
Charles M.: No.
Right!!
I think Charles was much smarter than people gave him credit for, but once convicted for life he was just having fun with the world and medias minds
He has got to be the worst interviewer at this moment. He was trying so hard to let everyone know he is a tough interviewer but Manson really is way beyond him and isn't conditioned like Tom. Tom must have looked back on this interview with regret as he had a real opportunity to be one of the first to interview him and pick his mind. What a waste!
Agreed. He was a disgrace to true journalists. He spent the whole time provoking Manson and trying to play tough guy. What a wasted interview. Should’ve got someone with journalistic integrity to do this interview.
To be fair - Geraldo also did a pretty woeful job of interviewing him. Still, I’m not going to disagree with you.

Word is....you have turkey in the sky!
was that a reference to the old WKRP episode??
Word is, You're an old woman.
It was a way of Manson simply saying that "word is" doesn't always have any relevance or truth to it. Im not saying that I support Manson. But his point was well made, yet obviously not worthy of consideration by the interviewer.
He is a product of experiences early in life. In his time it was somewhat rare for a child to be born in his circumstances. At every point of his childhood those responsible for nurturing and protecting him failed him. He learned at a very early age to be empty and void of any feelings many of us take for granted. In today’s society Charles Manson’s are born daily and being released from prison just as fast.
He’s a manipulative schizophrenic
Okay whatever you say friend I may have been through that too but I'm 16 and doing alright dealing with it the pot helps but I find it alarming finding myself understanding what he's saying he makes good points and it's interesting to think he seems like some of the old hippies I know
