I think this will work much better for me than Craig's version from Z Guard. His legs are so long, this feels like something I could actually set up. Thank you.
I've looked at most of the choi bar vids on YT and this one has some very nice details that are not covered in others, especially around capturing the arm and using knee/ hand to create space, which appears to give a more positive bite on the arm. I also like the setup. Thank you for sharing!
I usually only watch BJJ videos with the names of famous competitors I recognise. However, I decided to click on this since we went over the choi bar from half guard in class at my BJJ club recently. I am soooo glad I did! So many useful details here presented in a neat logical system! Excellent material!
Nice! The problem is found with that is that you are controlling the arm on one side and if you control the hip on the same side and not on the far side then you have no control on both side of the body, so your opponent can circle and diminish pressure on the elbow preventing a break
Yea, but they have to free their leg from the bottom leg and control that bottom leg as they start cutting the angle, but it gets hard as the arm is wedged in place. If the attacker screws up tho, they can get passed on the other side, i think the same thing happened at adcc trials ross nicholls vs Tommy Langaker
my friend i have been trying to do choi bars but struggling to get my leg ovee the head, getting smahed in z guard, im gonna try to push the head down to create the space tomorrow and let you know the results, thanks
@@MOG3 ......na couldnt do it lol, cant get the grip right, just getting crushed again. watched another video, think i need to get their shoulder below their elbow
@@sinatracann1591 hahaha fair! Remember it takes time to develop the timing and body sensitivity to hit a technique successfully! Feel free to contact me on @bart_the_grapple if you have any questions, also I have videos of me hitting the choi bar in competition 💪

If you have short legs like me definitely 😢

nice teaching!
Thank you! 😃
Wow! Very technical video. Liked it!
That's brilliant Bart, I 'll wait for you to come to Capaci to learn more!
❤️❤️
This was great thank you! 🙏🏻
Just a note -- Choi weaves the foot to the near hip, not the far hip. I find myself doing it this way as a man with shorter legs.
Nice!

Great breakdown
🙏 thank you very much
Fantastic - thank you sir 👌🏼
This is getting used tonight! Thank you
Enjoy!
Excellent details thanks
🙏
Nice break down man
great instructional, thanks bro
🙏
great video bart
great video thanks mate
2:35 Why do we always break towards the legs? My instructor doesn’t care which direction we apply as long as there is pressure under the fulcrum
Because when you break towards the legs it makes it impossible for them to hitchhike escape
great video
🙏
CLEAN
Nice
1:46 does the top guy have the chance to escape by entering between the guard player's legs and move to his other side?

I dig it!
Hey next time if possible it'd be cool to see a shot from the other side when your feet go under to manipulate his leg. Good stuff guys thank you.
Thank you, I’ll make sure next shot is better 🙏
