I’ve had my Shadow for a little over a year. Recently, while driving my towed vehicle, the shadow began braking. At one point, it even brought me to a full stop in the center lane of a highway. I was able to “limp” off the road without getting hit and pull the fuse. When I called RVi about this, I was told that if the unit detects low voltage, that can also put it into tow mode, and it may start braking. I was also told that the work-around is to pull the fuse when not towing. That’s not the “set and forget” that they advertise.
Hi there! That was the case on the original hundred or so units that were manufactured. They had a different set of on/off parameters, which we changed to now just be the motorhome's RV voltage. So, on those first 100 or so, we do have to pull the fuse, but any Shadows made after that function the way Chris describes in this video. Hopefully that helps explain a bit. Thanks for reaching out!

So sounds like your screwed since they are not replacing your faulty part they know about.
