  • Here you have the real-life CITY test of fuel consumption (fuel economy) in Mercedes-Benz S 580e Hybrid (PHEV) 2022/2023: 3.0 l inline-6 turbo-petrol + electric engine, 4Matic, 9G-Tronic, in a city (also in heavy traffic, urban area) with almost empty batteries at start (electric mode is not available) - in case you forgot to charge batteries before the city trip. Total system output: 375 kW (510 HP), 750 Nm. Result: 7.3 l/100 km (32.2 mpg US / 38.7 mpg UK).

    Mercedes S580e PHEV fuel and energy consumption (economy) in other scenarios (also on highway): • Mercedes S 580e Plug-I...
    If you start the city trip with fully charged batteries, you will achieve such fuel and energy consumption/economy results:
    30 mi distance: ∞ / ∞ mpg (US / UK) + 2.76 mpkWh
    50 km distance: 0.0 l/100 km + 22.5 kWh/100 km
    45 mi distance: ∞ / ∞ mpg (US / UK) + 2.76 mpkWh
    75 km distance: 0.0 l/100 km + 22.5 kWh/100 km
    60 mi distance: ∞ / ∞ mpg (US / UK) + 2.76 mpkWh
    100 km distance: 0.1 l/100 km + 22.1 kWh/100 km
    125 km distance: 1.2 l/100 km + 18.7 kWh/100 km
    75 mi distance: 170 / 204 mpg (US / UK) + 3.41 mpkWh
    150 km distance: 2.5 l/100 km + 14.7 kWh/100 km
    100 mi distance: 82.3 / 98.9 mpg (US / UK) + 4.54 mpkWh
    200 km distance: 3.7 l/100 km + 11.0 kWh/100 km
    125 mi distance: 62.9 / 75.5 mpg (US / UK) + 5.66 mpkWh
    250 km distance: 4.4 l/100 km + 8.8 kWh/100 km
    125 mi distance: 54.2 / 65.0 mpg (US / UK) + 6.82 mpkWh
    As always, I checked real fuel consumption on a petrol station. I noticed 1% difference: computer shows 1% lower fuel consumption comparing to what I refueled.
    Tires: Pirelli SottoZero Serie 3 255/40 R20 101 V XL, MO, FR (front) + Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 285/35 R20 104 V XL FR MO (rear) with "C" efficiency index.

    Thanks for all your videos. I love them ❤

    Excellent for such a large and powerful car. A diesel hybrid would've been even better.

    Can you do a fuel consumption test of a link & co?

    I'll have to check the vid with a full battery on your channel. The score with empty battery is pretty good. 🤔💪

      @@1001cars Wait, you drove 250km in the city to get those numbers?? That's some dedication.

    Can you make videos of PHEVs fully charged but in their hybrid blended modes? Where the car chooses between combustion and electric power?

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In a city you will have electric mode all the time in reality

      @@1001carsIt depends on the car. I used to have Hyundai Ionic. You can start your day in hybrid mode with the fully charged battery and it will still mix it well. This is the best plug in hybrid with good technology. I use Vovle VX90 plug in now and yes, it will finish up the battery first even though you are on hybrid mode. The MPG I get, with my careful and cautious driving, is 31.8MPG.I have heard people getting 16MPG. This is disappointing for me, coming from 102MPG I get from the Ionic.

      @@ay1ism Almost every PHEV I tested do not turn the combustion engine on in hybrid mode if the battery is somehow charged. Every mpg you sent depends on the charging frequency. This is why sb. can have more than 100 mpg, other less than 30. Talking about mpg only of PHEV car without energy consumption is pointless.

    Which car offers more comfort suspension wise and insulation? This one or the BMW i7 x60?

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  ปีที่แล้ว

      In terms of suspension comfort S Class is in my opinion better than BMW i7. But, the previous S Class which I tested had softer suspension comparing to present S Class 580e.
