I love the Nakayama stamp on the tomo - it looks suspiciously like the shobu stamp on the tomo I got from you!

When you cut their tomo off, the old Sharpy stamp keeps you organized. Sadly, it’s probably as good and any stamp you get from most venders 🤣

@@BigEShaves I understand. The stones I got from you are awsome in my estimation. I don't care about stamps - i'm not looking for collectables, I'm looking for shave results.

Very interesting work. The Cajun JNat SuperCurve Master.
Those Böker Elite Carbon pieces are handsome cutters. In my experience, Böker is one of the thinnest grinders in the business.
A good shaving friend once called the original Woohan Grunge, Covid Classic. I am particularly enjoying the addition of hot sauce to my foods to allow some taste to my foods in my recovery these days.
I use both Naniwa SS nagura and coticule slurries occasionally to pick up speed in backbeveling.
That hated ancient German grinders handbook describes a progression of “more coarse, more curvy” towards “finer and flatter”. I lack that success in using a final “flat” step though.
I do like the way different abrasives can give a visual as to how the curves are compounded in the bevel.

The shave was outstanding. This will not just be a one time experiment. Thanks for help and all the discussions. Have a good weekend bud.

I haven’t ventured into Jnats yet. Eventually I’ll give it a try.
    Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Joe. You can probably tell, my passion is with coticules but I like variety. I have a couple good jnats and a full set of Mikawa nagura, and I enjoy them. They give a really nice edge.

Jnats aren't my thing. And convexing the process is very brave ...your so right about gold dollars.
You do sound a bit rough Eric , any flu is horrid, please recover properly 😢.

Every day is a little better Mx fever came back last night. Just breaking again now. It’s starting to piss me off, ready to have this monkey off my back.

Nice Eric. I have a Tsushima that doesn't get used much. It's probably ideal for what you used it for. I might need to shape my stone too. It's a big brick, and I usually hone in hand.
Didn't you get the memo, you need to use flat stones to hone warped German razors;)

    • @BigEShaves
      @BigEShaves  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I have used my Tsushima similarly in standard flat progressions. Mine is fine and silky, I believe I am good to go up to Tenjyo there and the results are great. It’s a fun stone to hone on. It’s abrasive is so fine and breaks down so fast, I think it adds additional polish.

Did you know you're ruining your razor when using a curved stone? I mean honestly, it didn't even look that keen when doing the packing peanut, you should probably go back to setting the bevel 🤣😆 great video Eric! I haven't seen anyone do convex jnats yet but this was great introduction and hopefully more guys try it out! It just makes sense

Eric, I ordered one of Griffiths nagura. It was listed as a medium Nakayama. I haven't used it yet other than a couple of test slurry passes. I would say it seems like the kiita you sent me with the stone purchase. The top (usefull) layer is very thin. I'm waiting on cashew lacquer before I put it into service.

I have a few, but like variety. His are priced right, if they have fine enough.
