Bangladesh's Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus called Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and assured protection, safety and security of Hindus and other minorities in the country. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Friday said, "We are monitoring the situation in Bangladesh. We expect early normalcy in Bangladesh."

Hasina's goons and police forces killed more than a dozen Hindu students during the time of protest and many Hindu followers of Hasina participated in those killings. India now supports and gives shelter to Hasina; whereas post downfall of Hasina, two Hindu Bangladeshi died- one was from police, and the other one was an Awami league local worker or leader. Any death is condemnable, but we don't see India to say anything about Hasina's killing. The official count is 650 (UN report) and the unofficial count could be manyfold of this number. Moreover, in general, minority group supports Bangladesh Awami League, also known as BAL when it's time to take advantage of political affiliation, but when any arson, looting, and vandalism happen, they take the cover of their minority representation. Many Muslim people's houses, offices, stores, and buildings were torched, looted, and vandalized- some were deeply connected to BAL, or some were just the victims of the circumstance. No one says this.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Mohammad Yunus, the Chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh on August 16. Taking to'' X', PM Modi informed about the call and said that they exchanged the views on the prevailing situation in the country following the ouster of Sheikh Hasina. During the call, PM Modi reaffirmed India's support for a Democratic, Stable, Peaceful and progressive Bangladesh, while Mohammed Yunus assured him of the safety and protection of Hindus and other minority communities living in Bangladesh.
