Jinya & Jill are my low key favourite members from a musical standpoint, they never really seem to struggle and just handle anything that's thrown at them. Sure Shiren & Fuki's fireworks are very cool and the Fumiya & Ogawa rhythm section are killer. I wouldn't want to take away from what the rest of the band does, just love how much heavy lifting the two youngest members contribute to their sound in the current era.
Great reaction and request. OMG. What a timing! Thank you for getting me so ready and psyched to see Unlucky Morpheus again tonight! They are such incredible live performers!! 🤘
Both were written at the same time, so it was deliberate, once you know what the songs are about you'll understand a bit more why they did it that way. The song is based on a newspaper article, about a place in Switzerland that turns the ashes of people that were cremated in to diamonds. Which is what the 1st part is about. Then after reading the article, Shiren thought about someone that had done it, but then because they missed the person so much, they wanted to reverse the process and bring them back to life, which is part 2. And that is why they were both written at the same time, with the intention of it being able to be played both ways, but being 2 separate songs.
My understanding is the drums & vocals/lyrics are similar rather than fully reversed in each version (though some of the vocal melodies might be inverted), but the bass, guitars & violin are arranged fully backwards in Revadac. With the MV footage, it was shot so different bits of Fuki are in reverse in each song, think it's just the Fuki solo cutaways that are the right way round in the 2nd song. Live they have performed these back-to-back as well. Imagine Jill's skillset and training helped considerably with the arranging and transposition so the harmonies didn't end up janky.
The singing isnt backwards and is different lyrics but she does sing the same notes at the same places. And the drumming is different I was told? Im assuming to make it a more coherant listenable song, it needed a new drum track to support the backward version..? The violin and guitars are the same composition but backward. At least thats what I heard about the song. The story sang in the 2nd part is almost the opposite tale of the first half i heard too. You are right, a stupid amount of effort went into doing this track (or tracks) to work like this.
In delicious show I believe, Hana played piano and sang but leading up to that she did a duet with a violinist… the violinist was a one off and the only other time I ever saw Hana on the keyboard was on their tv show where they were making fun of koga not being able to play…pretty much every girl wanting to do music gets shoved into a piano class ; even tomo-zo did a song on the keys but koga was a model not a musician and only learned bass as part of a pr stunt.
Well, if you actually train and study music and learn your instruments, it's not that difficult to actually write some music, you know, with pen and staff paper, then simply write the music in reverse, copying the original music notation backward and learning to play it. Common Classical composing technique. Not to take anything away from UM, great band, great song. It's still a chore, but learn to write and sight read music rather than figuring everything by ear makes it much easier.
They wouldnt have listened to the song in reverse. Just transposed it in retrograde(thats the technical term). Its a classical composition technique from hundrdreds of years ago.
Jinya doesn’t get the credit he deserves for how damn good he is.

Kudos to Fuki and Shiren for create this music insanity
Undoubtedly the most talented band out there today in their field

This band is genius it is all that can be said
They actually do this live...There is a video of it played live floating around.
We can also celebrate the fact that Fuki created an account on a SNS that can’t be named here

The German vocals are revered though.
🤘🏻🔥
Let me just say this, Shiren is a genius songwriter/composer. Maybe he and Kanami are siblings (which is not true i think)
Awesome UM 🤘😁🤘

Since no one ever mentions it: "cancrizans", there, got your technical term XD

Just saying, since it's not your first time seeing this, more than a reaction this should be labeled as Review or something else :)
Good point!
