Catching up on the past month of content. Great video! To this day I tell/remind my friends about the Cambridge Analytica fiasco and it always leaves them in a state of disbelief and that was almost 10 years ago at this point!
@@ollie-f7y it’s all about your Threat Model. Totally not using Grammarly is not the best idea. You need to align your tech and actions to a threat model.
GARY The WiFi , if you're connected to the WiFi is it the WiFi device they'll track or the phone connected to it? And what are the boundaries between device connected to a WiFi hotspot amd the ISP
Honesty at this stage I’d recommend you put a load of questions to Google Gemini. There are ways to track people using their phone because they walked past a WiFi point.
@@chinedumichael8776 Yeah you can make it harder. But the bottom line is that if you're doing something malicious in the eyes of a government, and they want access/tracking on you, they have essentially unlimited funds and authority to do anything they want. From offensive security operations like compromising your devices with spyware (like Pegasus) to starting their own Ad Network company...look at what they did with Crypto AG.
Curious thought... If you don't have access to doing a VM, if you setup a new user on your computer to do an investigation, then kill the user whenever done, will that be sufficient in covering yourself (provided you use VPN, TOR, etc.)? I ask for someone like me that is just starting out and doesn't have a machine that can run a VM well and don't have the finances to pay for an instance on the Cloud.
@@theGaryRuddell I will look into that. Any chance for a primer on how one uses OSINT tools to find a person? I'm just getting into OSINT and I am trying to find someone from my moms past.
@trikster.online hey! It’s hard to do that because you just need to play with as many OSINT tools as possible. If you’ve watched all of my videos then you’ve already been exposed to a LOT! The most important thing is that you document the data points and pull on every damn thread!
@@theGaryRuddell Yeah, I think I am in the information overload stage. I just installed Maltego and finding videos on use, but what I am finding so far assumes you know how to use the software a bit.

Thanks 😊
Love the OPSEC content! Cheers Gary!

Sorry did you say 10 years?! 😮
@@theGaryRuddell the story broke in early 2018 with a majority of Cambridge Analytica's ""research"" happening in 2015-2017 (7-9 years ago 🥴🙃) haha
I ZERO-TRUST EVERYTHING!
Imagine if Grammarly ever got compromised, biggest keylogger in the world lol
Tell me about it! Then everyone would know how bad my grammar is too!!
Yeah that’s a good point
That's why I don't use Grammarly

do you have a social media profiler tools?
What do you mean “profiler”?
New sub I liked your OSiNT videos. ++ this one (: keep going
Thanks so much for subbing 😊 I’ve got lots more to come!
Brave private mode all the time and VPN always on with DNS filtering, done, no more tracking. You only get tracked if you want these days.
Yeah that’s a decent position to start from 👏🏼
Will thé still work if you’re on Google signed into your account?
Do not do that. As I said, you break the anonymity if you login to your accounts 🙄
You said if they have a lot of resources they can track you.
Pls what do you mean by that? 😢
If they have money and authority. Think NSA, GCHQ, and all the other governments. Then throw malicious companies into the mix.
@@theGaryRuddell And theirs no way to stop these entities or the government from tracking you....
Or even making it hard for them?

It’s a start! But you could just use something like TAILS on USB. That’s probably best for you.

@trikster.online but I can maybe do some sort of video on finding people. Weird places to check for data etc. Let me look into it 😊
