- Starlink finally approved in Zimbabwe, the President of Zimbabwe ED Mnangagwa recently licensed Starlink, in this video i sahre all you need to know about Starlinks entry into Zimbabwe. The LEO statellite service, which is owned by Space X which was founded by billionaire ElonMusk was recently banned in the country for operating without a license.

What will happen is potraz will for a while try to punish those with illegal kits and will continue to ban the importation of kits from Zambia and Mozambique. But it will continue because starlink Zimbabwe will be out of reach for most therefore driving up illegal importation.

yes, you can go the the starlink website and buy there, buying from reatialers is a bit expensive, maybe wait until the main distrbutor starts sellling kits

I know it's good feel like you were right but let's get to the gist of it. You did a video saying its only a matter of time that starlink sets up shop in Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean government then put up stringent parameters for Starlink to operate amidst fears of data security, telling starlink that one of the requirements to operate in the country is building a data centre in Zimbabwe. In comes Tshivayo, Nagwagwa's side kick who claims sat with the president to explain to him how Zimbabwe needs starlink and boom, his company is a third party in a ISP that does not require one. Of course this is just to milk Zimbabweans out of their hard earned money. Something you and no one else could predict despite all of us knowing our government so well. Starlink will be licensed in Zimbabwe but will cost much, much more than it costs in neighbouring countries which will drive up the importation of so called "illegal" kits from Mozambique and Zambia.
This starlink Zimbabwe is nothing to be proud of. You spoke too soon. Should have waited to see the pricing.

You are not forced to use Starlink. Its just another option among many ISPs to choose from. Stick to Econet and TelOne if you dont like Starlink. Starlink is satellite internet beamed from space, it doesnt make use of local infrastructure, and it cant be compromised. Thats why Elon Musk deployed Starlink in Ukraine in the middle of war. It cant be compromised by Russian hackers or anyone, unless they shoot down the satellites or use jamming technology. I dont care who is partnering with Starlink as long as they bring innovation. You people forget that there are non-partisan Zimbabweans who just want to see progress.
