Just beat these guys on KH2.5 last night, one of the coolest fights in the game. Seeing giant Sark get back up and start plodding towards you was so menacing. Love this movie and I think the special effects still look pretty good today
The game is the reason how I know this masterpiece, I thought it was original world but then when I am checking Jimini Journals about this world after I beat the game for a while around 2008, I shocked that this world is based on Disney film around 1982, then next I saw the already released trailer of Tron Legacy in 2009 which irony that I already I discovered about this movie and wanted to watch that time but then there is new sequel. Now they are planning for third movie around 2025.
Man! 2 of the most awesome lines in sci-fi history; No one user wrote me, I'm worth millions of their man years. and I want him in the games till he dies playing. This was the first film I ever saw in a cinema at 10 years old and it still make's me tingle watching it; it began my long love of space and sci-fi, love it :-).
You know, for the *longest* time, I never realized that this scene (and even scenes with Dillinger talking to the MCP) were basically David Warner talking to himself. Of course this was years and years ago, before I actually started reading the end credits.
I picked from the day I saw TRON in cinemas - yes, I'm that old - that Sark was Ed Dillinger. Bruce Boxleitner is also TRON and CLU is played by the same actor who was Flynn (Jeff Bridges).
@@roypiper581 Ed Dillinger wrote the initial code which extrapolated itself to become the MCP, so in keeping with the rest of the film each real world person played their computer counterpart. Dillinger also wrote 'Command Program Sark', which is why David Warner plays all three roles. Barnard Hughes was 'Walter Gibbs' in the real world and 'Dumont' inside the computer, Bruce Boxleitner was 'Alan Bradley' and 'TRON', Cindy Morgan was 'Dr. Lora Baines' and 'Yuri' in the computer (also she was 'Lacey Underall' in the movie Caddyshack).
@@inuyashason81Sure! I'd love to go up against one of those guys! Make a nice break from those accounting cream puffs you keep sending me. What branch of the service?
DorianMichaelsIII In Kingdom Hearts 2, this applied to Corey Burton, who voiced Sark using his Shockwave voice (he originally based Shockwave's voice on David Warner, Sark's actor), as well as the MCP.
I have to wonder. Did MCP specify that Flynn had to die playing in the games because he couldn't kill him any other way? We see that as a User Flynn can survive events that would see a program derezzed, and even subvert or reconstruct defunct programs, such as the Recogniser or the Carrier. However, in a game, by participating however unwillingly he is restricting himself to the rules of the game, including dying if he loses. Just a theory. A Game Theory!
This is likely somewhat true. It also might be more subtle, the MCP might actually be afraid of Flynn and wants to test his mettle.... in a safe way. If Flynn is subjected to games, it's not more than what the program was initially designed for, he could plea ignorance. When Flynn escapes, it gives him permission to scrap him using security programs, "He was threatening the system, I protected it". He's definitely goose-stepping towards murder, but he knows as a program if he's caught doing that he'll be deleted wholly. So a bit of kabuki to create a scenario where he might survive if caught. He also might be aware of Flynn's abilities, or potential, so he's protecting himself from him much the same way. Flynn's unaware of the MCP's design, and as such, he's "hiding" himself by forcing him into the games under Sark, which he's more familiar with. It also might be ego - he might be wanting to see if Flynn can stand up to his own programs and in doing so, better them. He's protecting the system from a volatile entity, but trying to evolve with it. It makes a lotta sense.
Better than those accountig cream puffs you keep sending me. And yes. MCP is scary - especially when I was a kid. I kept telling myself... hes just an old chess program...wah!

Jeff Bridges is most definitely a user. He was arrested in 1982 for possession of MCP.
