I think bea has always cared and has always wanted to care but after a long time of suppression, drastic life-changes, responsibility and not having many people in her life; she hardened her heart. Mae helped lower those walls, and bea was and is trying to change for the better because of mae. One interesting fact about bea other than her not smoking at the end is that if you go the gregg route and do legends instead of proximity; bea will get cold feet and NOT go to the party. This shows that during that sequence mae possibly messed things up a bit,but bea appreciated and needed someone she can feel comfortable with. Bea herself even says, if you choose to do legends, that she stays home and just watches online tv shows and wanted to be on her own. Bea comes off as a jerk and sometimes can be abrasive, but she does so because she wants and does care immensely for the friendship mae provides. Mae becomes bea’s corner per say.

Some other stuff changes it up but it's just small dialogue changes My problem with this is that for example if you don't take Gregg's route and don't do Angus' investigation mission you don't really learn anything about Angus. Pretty much all of Angus' character is tied into Gregg's story line or his (Skippable) investigation mission in chapter 3.
The one here is good (and I hadn't seen it before so that's cool), but I like Mae's final answer being "When I was down there last night" better. There's a great line, something like, "Nothing can save us forever, but there's plenty of stuff that can save us today." I loved that - anyone know the full quote?

That and I think that Gregg only really needs Angus, because of how close their relationship is, Gregg did say that Mae had to let him grow up, so he wouldn't have to worry about that too, and when they move out it'd be easier for him to do so.

More details on how life affected Mae come out when she’s on the couch with Gregg and Mae gets a sense of normalcy with him, but Mae and Bea needed to understand each other and how they were suffering in different ways.
Like, Bea is really hard to be around even when she's not actively hostile, and Mae does some terrible things to Bea that are really cringey, but, like, Mae's entire relationship with Gregg is one long terrible thing she's doing to him.

I dunno, Bea seems nice and I did hang out with her but I feel like realistically I'd rather hang out with my high school best friend than my middle school one who starts off with an attitude. As it is I already have a similar scenario. My middle school friend ditched me and stopped talking to me when I started having a rough time with my depression. In high school she moved away and I found new friends and had several people I'd consider close. If we were to all reunite I'd talk to them much more than her.
I still prefer Gregg as a character over Bea, but I can definitely say this much: I can relate so much more to Bea's problems in life. But I'm practically Mae except I don't have her disorder and I'm not like..awesome n shit.
Well, its probably because Bea is so distant towards Mae in the story and in Bea's ending they reconciliated and became friends again. Gregg is still Mae's friend regardless of what happened so his ending feels less complete than Bea who finally fixed her friendship with Mae.
I am not going to watch this video but there something I wanted to know. How do the endings in this game function? Judging by the name of the video there are more than one it seems. It will be awhile until I find the time to finish the game but when I do I really want to know how much replay-ability this game has to offer. Like does something different happens if I try to focus entirely on Bea or Greg when choosing to spend the day with them. Note: I am barley at the Harvest festival event so there is still much of the game I have yet to go through.

Bea saying she's a member of the young socialists and in her next line of dialogue paraphrasing Marx is great. I hadn't read any of Marx at the time I first played the game a few years back, and even now because it's only half the quote I did a double take as she spoke.

What's to explain? It's, like, an adventure game. More in the Telltale sense where it's mostly dialog trees and minigames, not in the Sierra sense where you have to rub every item in your inventory on everything else.

Gregg is the most fun, but Bea is the most dramatically satisfying. She's harder to love but you love her harder for working to get that love.

I enjoy this ending way more than the Gregg ending. The Gregg ending honestly seemed pointless, and didn’t really have anything interesting in it.
