    glad to find this video, about to purchase 4 headsets for Football (soccer for you Americans ;-) ) and we were struggling to justify higher cost of the Sennheiser's. I use AT for monitoring and editing films daily, so wanted to compare the two. You can 100% hear the SH are delivering a far superior quality of sound, the ATs distorted easily at the high end, probably didn't help that the two female presenters were very high pitched and loud in comparison to all others though. That said the AT will definitely do the job for us and can get 4 for the price of 2 SH, thanks for making the video.

    As a video producer myself, I’d say the AT headset was the clear winner. The SH headset sounded “light”.

      As I said in the video, I just think it depends on what you are using them for. Each has its strengths and weaknesses for given situations.

      @@MikesWorld1 you did say that... just giving feedback as the video requested.

    The Sennheiser doesn't sound $200 better. That's for sure. I'm going with the AT, as I did with my shotgun mic.

    Sennheiser has HME condenser version option as well

    I loved your video, but for narrating/casting games and esports, which microphone do you think is best?

      I would personally go with the Audio Technica. I just like the overall sound from it compared to the Sennheiser.

    Hey Mike awhile ago you mentioned how you use a mixer to add a second announcer mic and to get sound feed back. could you provide a link to that mixer and or setup please?

    Great video Mike, thank you! Question, preparing for streaming high school football this season here in NC. I think the Sony Cam you have is discontinue, can you recommend another one? Thanks

      Sony PXW-Z190. It’s essentially the newest version of the camera I’m using which is 13 years old. It’s also roughly the same price as what I paid for the NX5U.

    The AT is great. I’ve compared the 2 myself and I felt there was no comparison. The AT sounds like there is a natural compression and EQ built in already. I think it’s got much better intelligibility. I think it’s a great value. I really don’t know why the Sennheiser headphone is such a standard (BTW-I am a fan of Sennheiser…just not this pair of headphones.

    May I ask which one you would consider be best for vocal recording - which of the microphones would work best in a music studio?

    • @MikesWorld1
      @MikesWorld1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sennheiser for that situation. The AT is too sensitive and will pick up little breaths and noises you don’t want in a music recording.

      I don’t think you’d really want either for a music studio. Too much low end roll off

    I'm curious to know why you chose to compare the SH with the BPHS1 rather than the BPHS2. I've had the 2 for a few years and enjoy using it for Zoom conferencing. To me, the Sennheiser sounds a bit more balanced across all the frequencies, whereas the AT sounds more top-heavy. I can certainly vouch for the AT's passive noise cancelling fit, though I do note the other commenter's mention of clipping on the BPHS1's samples. The Sennheiser just sounds a little warmer and more balanced to me. Whether that is worth the far higher price tag, though is unsure. I'd say the BPHS2's sound would be closer to the Sennheiser than the 1.

      I compared them because those are the two I own.
