    Would you make these for specific people where you can make the perfect length strap or go with a standard size?

    Just finished making one of these, with some slight modifications based on a pattern I used previously (added pockets which I'm not 100% happy with, and cut the lining a little short & stitched some accent fabric along the top of it to bring it back up to size). I like the ease of the boxed bottom, and the fact that it includes a key holder (I used a lobster claw on mine). I love how thick & cushy the strap turns out; never again will I use a lighter interfacing on a strap! I do prefer the look of a rounded bottom, but it's nice to have options.

      I have "water bottle with pocket for a phone" on my list but haven't tackled it yet. Isn't it great how we can fix mistakes with more fabric? 🥰

      @@ArtistTaraReed Cutting it short was deliberate so I could add an accent fabric as trim, but yes I've been in the "there, a little patch and no one will notice..." situation before. 🙂

    How much adjusting should be good for a Yeti bottle with a circular base just under 4" Would 1.75 " be good without throwing the dimensions off of the rest of the bag?

    • @ArtistTaraReed
      @ArtistTaraReed  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a tricky one since the top is usually wider than the bottom so you'd need to do the measurements to accommodate the widest part of the bottle

      Hi,
      My bottle measures 3 3/4" at the base and is 12" round. If I allow 4" at the base, should I cut a square that is 1 3/4" by 1 3/4" so that the sewn width of the base will measure 3 1/2" or should I cut the square 2X2 so I have 4" width for the base? Is 1 1/2" square the way to go? @@ArtistTaraReed

    • @ArtistTaraReed
      @ArtistTaraReed  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@marialuisarosiello7799 Is your Yeti the same size at the top as the bottom? If not you need to make it sized for the top since it's a straight holder. I know... 😫Editing these when there are so many clips can be like mental gymnastics. I should have done it as I was sewing at 10:18 before moving on to the straps. After you sew the 3 sides, you then match the seams and the sides of the cut-out for the bottom and sew with 1/4" seam. You can see it sewn at 17:21. Sorry about that! 🤦🏻‍♀

    • @ArtistTaraReed

      It will be about 1½" - you can make it narrower by cutting the fleece 1" wide instead of 1½" and the strips of fabric 2" instead of 2½"
