I swim in a 25 meter pool daily. I take about 16 to 18 strokes per length and I am hurting when I do my 100’s on 1:45. There is always room for improvement, I continue to work hard to lower my intervals. You are such an inspiration and I really appreciate your videos, they’ve helped me a lot. Your swim is incredible and it does not look like you’ve lost much swim fitness at all.
After seeing this I did a (very) basic "feeler' today with a tempo trainer and poolside lap clock. I did 2x 100m (25m pool) each at 56, 60, 64 and 68 strokes per minute. Times were fairly consistent for both 100m swims at the various stroke counts. 1m45s @56strokes, then about 1m40@60strokes and about 1m37 for both 64 and 68 stroke per minute with fatigue and perceived effort ramping up for the 68. I have found however that I can't hold these stroke rates for that long. In my last 30 min swim I managed to hold 56 strokes per minute consistently but no idea of the distance or times per 100 for this (I only had a clock and a tempo trainer and am not good at counting lengths!😅)
I recently joined the swimmers' world at the age of 53 with asthma. I was wondering how you get on well with your heart rate? Mine goes crazy the moment after 50 metres.
I’m not sure how the stroke rate matches the other data. For example 8:23 - If your stroke count is 50 for a 1:15 swim, then doesn’t that mean your stroke rate is less than 50? 1:15 is 1.25min, so I think your stroke rate here was 50/1.25=40. Am I missing something?
Nice Video ; can you please describe the difference between stroke rate and stroke count, as I unterstand, why these are different numbers and not the same 🤔?
I'm swimming 1km in ~21mins with a stroke rate of 23/min. I thought that I should increase my propulsion power but it seems that my stroke rate is way too low.
Thanks for the video. Just getting into swimming. My Garmin watch considers one stroke to be when one hand has done a full cycle. It looks like you count that as two strokes, right? i.e. each time a hand enters the water, you call it one stroke?
Download the spreadsheet to record your own test and find your stroke rate 'sweet spot': www.effortlessswimming.coach/nrgtesna
I'm going to try this with the Form goggles + HR + Tempo trainer. Pimping this effort a little bit
You swim so fast I am jealous but it motivate me! Thanks for the video

that little stroke tamagotchi is a great idea
Hi, do you have any videos on strength work for swimmers!
I really like the idea of the tempo trainer but it’s really hard to sync my stroke to the tempo. I guess I just need to use it more….
Wouldn't HR be a better indicator than perceived effort?

Oh the difference is due to the turns and underwater dolphin kicks.
Didn't quite get it - what is "presaved effort" and how to measure it?
And is it enough to measure only "stroke count" if I compete in pool only?
perceived effort
@@EffortlessSwimming oh my English, now I got it. Thanks! :)

Stroke rate is per minute
Stroke count is just the count of stroke

yep you'll benefit from increasing your rating to 50-60
@@EffortlessSwimming Holy cow. That's a lot. Thanks :)
yard or meter shortcourse pool?
metres in Australia

If only I could go in the pool 😑
